At night, the glow of charcoal flickered across the balcony, even though Zaun never saw the sun.

Felix was grilling, with a bucket of chilled beer set beside him.

“Looks like I came at just the right time.” “I prepared it for you, Silco.” Felix opened two cans of beer.

These were from Piltover.

Silco walked over and sat beside Felix.

“Zaun is about to rise.

We need to seize this opportunity.” Felix raised his can and clinked it against Silco’s, then took a long drink.

He wanted to hear Silco’s plan.

“Shimmer is about to succeed.

Within the next two days.

With this chance, Zaun can declare war on Piltover outright, assuming Vander helps us.” “He provides the people, we provide the Shimmer?

I doubt he’ll agree.” “No rush.

He’ll compromise.

I know his personality.

He won’t hand those kids over.” “Let me talk to him first tomorrow.

I want to see his attitude.

Zaun doesn’t absolutely need him, and neither do the Lanes.” “Don’t start a conflict.

Even if the talks fall through, don’t act on impulse.

I’ll make him cooperate,” Silco reminded him.

“Don’t worry, I know.” After saying that, Felix tore a chunk of meat hard off the wooden skewer.

He had not forgotten the wounds on Silco’s body that afternoon.

That night, Silco and Felix talked for a long time, from Zaun to Piltover, then to the continent of Valoran.

They talked about their ideals, Silco’s past experiences, and the history between him and Vander.

By the time the night had deepened, there were fewer and fewer beers left in the bucket of ice water.

In the end, beneath the cover of night, they simply fell asleep on the balcony.

The next day, late in the morning, Felix opened his eyes when the sunlight shone in his face.

He shook his heavy head.

Silco was already gone.

Felix washed up quickly, changed into a sharp suit, and put on the mask that marked him as an arms dealer in the Lanes.

Only then was he ready to head to The Last Drop.

Before leaving, Felix did not forget to tell the girl he had once saved, who now looked after his daily needs, “Please clean up the balcony for me.” Felix took down the gun he had carefully maintained for a long time from the rack.

He really liked this gun, not only because of its power, but also because it made him feel the romance of being a man.

He slung it over his back, then tucked a pistol at his waist.

Felix did not let anyone follow him.

He walked to The Last Drop alone.

“Don’t scare the person pouring your drink inside the bar.” That was what Vander had said.

The infamous Hound of the Underground was now curled up in his bar, licking the wounds left by the last war between the two cities, or perhaps only Felix thought that.

Who knew?

He strode into the bar.

“Get me a beer, Huck.” As he spoke, he tossed him two copper coins.

The tall, thin man with glasses was a little surprised that this masked person could call out his name.

After all, he was not the bar’s server.

Still, he poured a beer and handed it to Felix.

Felix took a sip of the beer while sweeping his gaze over the lively, chaotic bar.

It looked no different from more than a year ago.

Felix drained the beer in one go, took the glass, and walked up to the bar.

“Vander!” “What is it?” Vander, who had been mixing drinks farther down the bar, heard someone call his name and turned around to ask.

When he saw Felix’s mask, his expression changed.

He walked over and stopped in front of Felix.

“What would you like to drink, mysterious arms dealer?” “There are some things I want to talk to you about.

You’re in trouble, aren’t you?” “I can handle it myself.

I don’t need your help.” Vander was extremely wary.

“That’s right.

You don’t need my help.

But what about him?” Felix removed his mask and looked at Vander.

Vander was startled.

He recognized the kid who had once followed Silco everywhere.

The last time Felix had come to the bar, Vander’s impression of him had been quite deep as well.

“Silco is looking forward to working with you again, even after you betrayed him.

So what’s your answer?

Are you going to fight for the people of the Lanes, or keep scraping by in your comfortable little life?

Oh, no.

That’s not right.

You can’t keep lying around this bar anymore.

The Enforcers have already turned Zaun upside down.” Vander took a deep breath, but his voice remained firm.

“I said I’ll fix everything.” “As expected of the leader of the Lanes.

So calm.” Felix took the shotgun off his back.

“Then shouldn’t we settle the score from last time?” Bang!

The gunshot rang out from Felix’s hands.

The recoil knocked Felix back a step.

Every gaze in the bar turned toward Felix and Vander.

“Haha, just kidding.

You’re not mad, are you?” Felix had not hit Vander.

He had only blown apart the stool beside him.

The bullet had sliced past Vander, making cold sweat break out all over him.

He had not fought in a long time, and he had never expected someone to attack him inside The Last Drop.

But Vander was still Vander.

He soon calmed down.

“I wouldn’t mind putting on my old gauntlets again.

The problem is, the smell of blood on them is hard to wash off.” His words carried a threat.

“Sorry, sorry.” Felix smiled as he said to Vander and everyone around them, “The gun misfired.

Looks like it still needs some improvements.

Hahahaha.” Then he leaned in beside Vander’s ear and said, “The debt between you two, he’ll come collect it himself.

We’re even now.

I hope you think carefully about my proposal today.

You’re still barely useful to Zaun, but you are absolutely not irreplaceable.” After thinking for a moment, he took two gold coins from his pocket.

“Sorry about that, everyone.

Drinks are on me.

I’ll excuse myself first.” With that, Felix walked straight toward the bar’s door.

The air inside the bar was thick with tension, but no one stepped forward, and no one was the first to attack Felix.

“We’ll meet again.

I hope you can still look this calm next time.” Felix did not look back.

The bar fell into silence.

Outside the door, Felix walked farther and farther away, and faint laughter drifted back from the distance.

“Beautiful, isn’t it?” Silco’s laboratory was underwater.

As he looked at the scenery beyond the glass window, a massive mutated whale swam past.

He said to the nervous blond kid beside him, “But from the surface, no one knows they exist.” “They’re monsters.” The blond kid, who still had wounds on his face, sounded timid.

“Everyone has a monster inside them.

You want power, don’t you?” Silco took out the newly developed chemtech serum.

It needed its first test subject, someone to try its power.

“What?

No.

Drinking that will kill me.” The blond kid resisted strongly.

“I’ll teach you a very important secret rule.

I understood it when I was about your age, boy.” Silco looked at the blond kid.

“You see, power, true power, never belongs to those born stronger than others, faster than others, or smarter than others.

It only belongs to those willing to do whatever it takes to achieve their goals.

Now, let the monster inside you crawl out.” Silco handed the vial of Shimmer to him.

The blond hesitated, but still took the serum.

He gritted his teeth and drank it in one gulp.

“Ahhh!” A scream of agony rang out.

Only after a long while did it finally stop.
