“Silco, you animal!

I don’t care what hole you crawled out of, crawl right back into it!” Benzo swung his club and shouted in fury.

Always standing in the way when he should move,” Silco said as he looked at him.

“Benzo, don’t go over there!” Vander roared, his hands cuffed.

A sharp whistling sound cut through the air.

At the same time, a steel cable shot out from Felix’s waist and slammed into the black blur with incredible speed.

“Benzo, you owe me your life.” Felix had fired the cable and blocked the test subject’s attack.

“Sometimes, you leave no loose ends.

Sometimes, you leave yourself a way back,” Felix reminded Silco in a low voice.

Silco took a deep breath.

He still could not face his former brother as calmly as he had imagined.

There was still resentment in his heart.

A small figure like Benzo did not matter.

What mattered was whether killing Benzo or not would show their attitude toward cooperation.

“Come with us, Vander,” Silco said.

“What have you done?

This isn’t what we agreed on!

You can’t take Vander with you!” the remaining male Enforcer roared.

Felix directly took the shotgun from his back.

He raised it, aimed, and clicked off the safety, every movement smooth and practiced.

With the muzzle pointed at the Enforcer, Felix could see cold sweat running down his face.

“I changed my mind.” As he spoke, Silco tossed him a bag of gold coins from his coat.

“He’s still useful.

Let’s go, Felix.” Silco patted the hand Felix had on the gun.

Felix put the gun away.

The test subject punched Vander in the left eye.

He remembered that this was what the little boss had told him to do, and he had been promised five gold coins for it.

Then he dragged Vander straight toward the factory.

Vander did not resist.

It seemed the old Hound of the Underground really had grown old.

Locked in the basement, Vi was first startled when she saw the Enforcer’s blood.

Then she let out a breath of relief when Felix stopped that monster from killing Benzo.

But when she saw Vander being taken away, her whole heart rose into her throat again.

She remembered that man, or rather, that boy.

He had some kind of friendship with Powder.

Vi had seen him eating and chatting with Powder several times at the food stalls.

Every time they finished talking, Powder would stay excited for a while.

She also knew that the pistol Powder carried close to her body had been given to her by Felix.

“Benzo!

Let me out!” Vi snapped back to her senses and shouted.

The urgent priority was saving Vander.

Vi was let out of the basement and rushed toward the bar.

Before leaving, she did not forget to tell Benzo, “Don’t let news of Vander’s capture get out.

If you do, the Lanes will fall into chaos.

We’ll save him.” Benzo actually saw the shadow of the old Vander in Vi, young as she was.

At the factory, the serum had already been mass-produced in large quantities.

This batch of serum was the core of their war against Topside.

Silco walked through the factory with Vander and introduced it to him.

“The technology is still rough right now, but change always demands a price.

Topsiders only understand extreme measures.

You and I both know that.” “Even if you breed these monsters, you can’t beat Piltover,” Vander retorted.

“Oh?

What if we add these?” Silco led Vander to the warehouse where Felix made his weapons.

Inside were all kinds of equipment, shotguns, repeating pistols, grappling hooks, and more.

“So many weapons!” Vander was shocked, but he said nothing and chose to answer with silence.

He had always thought Felix was just a middleman, buying and reselling weapons.

He had never expected the boy to have his own arms factory.

Seeing Vander stay silent, Silco continued, “All I need is to scare them, make them lose the nerve to step into the undercity.

Since they don’t treat undercity people as human, we have no reason to keep living in their shadow.” “You’ll get a lot of people killed!

For what, pride?” Vander was angry, but there was helplessness in his voice too.

“What I want is respect.

Opportunity.

Everything Topside has.” Silco looked at Vander.

“You had my respect, and the respect of the entire Lanes, but you were never satisfied.” Vander softened his tone.

“We had the same vision, Vander.

Not just for the Lanes, but for the entire undercity, united as one.

Have you already forgotten the dream of Zaun’s rise?

I trusted you so much, and you betrayed me.” Silco sounded hurt, and the scene by the river that day surfaced in his mind.

“I regret what I did to you.

I’ve never been able to forgive myself.

You were my brother.” Vander’s voice trembled slightly.

A trace of remembrance flashed through Silco’s eyes, but he quickly hardened them again.

“No.

You still don’t understand.

Can you imagine what it felt like?

Unable to breathe, blood flowing through a poisoned river.

I hated you so much.

But as time passed, I didn’t hate you quite as much anymore.

That was when I understood.

There is only one way to defeat a stronger enemy, you have to be willing to risk everything.” “I did hate you, but I also respected you, until you crawled into bed with Piltover and became their dog!

You completely forgot all the suffering we endured.” Silco’s emotions grew agitated.

“I had no choice back then.” Clink, clink.

A vial of serum rolled over.

“Well, now you do.” Felix spoke in a relaxed tone.

“A scrawny man can drink this and beat you with ease.

If you drink it, how much power would that be?

The reason you had no choice was because you weren’t strong enough.” There was a trace of anticipation in Felix’s eyes.

“Shimmer is our weapon.

You and I can finally fight for the dream we once shared, my brother,” Silco said seriously.

“Look at what you’ve done!

You’ve lost every bit of humanity you were born with.

Do whatever you want with me, but I’m begging you, leave the Lanes out of this.” Vander was in pain.

“You’d rather die for an ideal than fight for it?” “I’m not who I used to be anymore.” “Then let me wake up who you really are.” Silco looked deeply at Vander.

“Hey, Silco, why make this so complicated?

Why not just use those kids to threaten him?

I really don’t know how this guy became the boss of the Lanes.

He still wants to protect everyone.

How naive.” Silco fell silent for a moment.

“He wasn’t like this before.” To be honest, he also did not understand Vander’s thinking.

“If it really doesn’t work, just replace him outright.

Sure, there might be some bloodshed and sacrifices, and it’ll take a little time, but that’s still better than wasting away like this,” Felix advised.

“Wait a little longer.

Just a little longer.” No matter who someone was, there would always be a soft spot in their heart.

So Felix did not keep trying to persuade him.

He knew that even though Silco and Vander had turned against each other, even though Vander had hurt him, there was still a place for Vander in Silco’s heart.

Maybe the Vander of the past had simply been too charismatic.

Felix knew Silco still needed a little more time to sever this bond completely, or another betrayal.
