[* 3rd Person POV *] Cain’s breath caught for half a second not from surprise at her beauty, but from the sheer, vivid confirmation that the System was real and already measuring the exact distance between them.

Tsunade closed the door behind her and walked forward with the unhurried confidence of someone who had once occupied this very chair.

She stopped a few paces from the desk, arms loosely crossed beneath her chest, studying him with those sharp amber eyes.Full novel: As Naruto Uzumaki With An R-18 System — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

“You’re in early” She said.

Her voice was low, a little rough from whatever long night she had spent, but steady.

“Shizune said the night shift left a mountain of reports.

I figured I’d check whether you’d actually started them or were still staring at the wall pretending the paperwork would disappear.” Cain let the silence stretch just long enough to feel natural, then offered a small, crooked smile the kind that had once opened doors and legs with equal ease.

“I was just getting started” He answered.

“Sit.

You look like you could use a minute that isn’t filled with someone else’s emergencies.” Tsunade’s brow arched, but she did not refuse.

She pulled the visitor’s chair closer and settled into it, crossing one long leg over the other.

The movement was casual, practiced, yet the faint tightness around her eyes did not ease.

“I’m fine” She said automatically.

“Just the usual.

Village budgets.

Medical corps shortages.

Another letter from the Fire Daimyo about taxes.

Nothing new.” Cain watched her.

Really watched her.

The way her shoulders remained squared even while seated.

The way her fingers drummed once against her knee before she forced them still.

The faint shadow beneath her eyes that no amount of skillful makeup could fully hide.

“You always say you’re fine” He replied, voice quieter now, warmer.

“Even when you’re the last one leaving the hospital at three in the morning.

Even when you skip meals because someone else needed the bed more.

Even when you sit in that old training ground by yourself and pretend the silence doesn’t get loud.” Tsunade’s gaze sharpened.

For a moment the air between them carried the weight of old arguments, old concern.

Then something softer flickered across her face surprise, perhaps, that he had noticed so precisely.

“You’ve been paying attention” She said.

Not quite an accusation.

Not quite praise.

“I have” Cain answered simply.

“And I don’t like the look of it.

You carried this village longer than anyone should have to.

You trained me.

You patched me up more times than either of us can count.

You deserve more than endless duty and empty nights.” She exhaled through her nose, a short, almost amused sound.

“Since when does the Hokage give motivational speeches before breakfast?” “Since the Hokage decided the former Hokage shouldn’t have to keep carrying everything alone.” Tsunade looked away toward the window for a moment, the morning light catching the side of her face.

Loyalty 65.

Love 30.

The numbers did not move, but the System remained quiet, patient, watching the slow work of conversation the same way Cain was.

“I’m not lonely” She said at last, the words measured.

“I have Shizune.

I have the hospital.

I have the next generation of med-nin who still somehow think I have all the answers.” “And when the hospital is quiet?” Cain asked gently.

“When Shizune has gone home and the students are asleep and the only sound left is the clock on the wall what do you do then?” Tsunade’s fingers stilled completely.

She did not answer immediately.

The silence stretched, real and unforced.

Outside, distant voices of early Academy students drifted up from the street.

Inside the office, only the two of them existed.

“I drink” She admitted finally, voice lower.

“Or I train until my body is too tired to think.

Or I read the same mission reports three times because the alternative is sitting still with… whatever is left.” Cain leaned forward slightly, elbows on the desk, hands loosely clasped.

The movement brought him closer without invading.

His voice stayed soft, almost conversational.

“That doesn’t sound like living.

That sounds like surviving on residual habit.” Tsunade’s eyes returned to his.

Something vulnerable flickered there quickly banked, but not fast enough to hide completely.

“And what would you suggest instead, Naruto?” The use of the name was deliberate, a small test.

“A lecture on self-care?

A forced vacation?

I’ve heard every version.” “No lecture” Cain said.

“Just an observation.

You’re still the most capable woman this village has ever produced.

You’re still beautiful.

You’re still capable of wanting more than duty.

And you’re still allowed to take something for yourself without the world ending.” The words hung between them.

Tsunade did not laugh them off.

She did not stand and leave.

She simply watched him, the faint color that rose along her throat the only betrayal that the words had landed somewhere deeper than professional concern.

Above her head the numbers remained steady.

[Loyalty: 65] [Love: 30] Cain did not push further.

Not yet.

He simply let the quiet settle again, offering the space for her to fill or leave empty as she chose.

Outside the office the village continued its morning rhythm.

Inside, the first thread of the quest had been laid slow, careful, real.

Tsunade drew a slow breath, uncrossed her legs, and leaned back in the chair.

The movement caused the fabric of her blouse to shift, drawing the eye for half a second before Cain deliberately returned his gaze to her face.

“You’re different this morning” She said at last.

Not suspicious.

Curious.

“Something in the way you’re looking at me.” Cain’s smile was small, genuine, and just a little dangerous.

“Maybe I finally decided to stop pretending I don’t notice.” The System remained silent, but the quest marker in the corner of his vision pulsed once, soft and approving, as if acknowledging that the first step had been taken exactly as intended.

Tsunade held his gaze a moment longer.

Then, for the first time since she had entered the room, the tight line of her shoulders eased by a fraction.

“Well” She said, voice quieter than before “I’m here.

Talk.

Or don’t.

But stop looking at me like that unless you plan to follow through on whatever it is you’re thinking.” Cain’s answering smile deepened, slow and full of quiet promise.

“Oh, I plan to” He said.

“But only when you’re ready to stop carrying everything alone.” Outside, the sun climbed higher.

Inside the Hokage office, the air between them had shifted subtle, irreversible, and only just beginning.

Otherwise my updates will still remain consistent so there won’t be any issue if you don’t purchase it either!
