The bustling streets that had been filled with merchants and travelers during the day slowly fell silent.

Lanterns illuminated the roads with a warm golden glow, while the moon hung high above, bathing the city in silver light.

Inside the small hotel, Sai had already fallen asleep at the counter after insisting he would “protect the hotel.” Jiang Yi smiled helplessly as she take him to his room and covered him with a blanket.

“You really are just a child…” She extinguished the last candle downstairs before returning to her room.

Everything became quiet.

Almost…

Too quiet.

Inside their room, KING sat on the edge of his bed while Shadow stood beside the window.

Neither of them spoke.

Their expressionless faces remained fixed toward the darkness outside.

Several seconds passed.

Then…

Shadow calmly broke the silence.

“They’re here.” KING slowly nodded.

“Eight.” Shadow closed his eyes for a brief moment.

“…No.” “Ten.” “Two are concealing their presence on the rooftops.” At that very moment…

Outside the hotel…

Ten figures dressed entirely in black silently surrounded the building.

Every one of them wore a black mask, leaving only their eyes visible.

Each carried enchanted daggers coated with a dark violet poison.

The leader raised his hand.

“No mistakes.” “The Patriarch wants the twins dead.” “If the others interfere…” “Kill them.” The assassins silently nodded.

Like ghosts…

They moved.

Inside the room…

KING stood up.

“They’re targeting everyone.” Shadow nodded.

“We end this tonight.” Without another word…

Both brothers disappeared from the room.

Not through the door.

Not through the window.

They simply vanished.

Outside…

One assassin had just reached the roof when— “…!” A hand suddenly grabbed his neck.

Before he could react— Crack.

His neck snapped instantly.

His lifeless body was gently laid onto the roof without making the slightest sound.

Shadow disappeared once again.

Elsewhere…

Another assassin silently opened a window.

Just as he stepped inside— A fist struck his chest.

Boom!

Every bone inside his body shattered instantly.

The assassin crashed through three walls before finally stopping.

He was already dead.

KING lowered his fist.

“One.” Within seconds…

The silent night became a battlefield.

One assassin attempted to launch dozens of wind blades.

Shadow simply raised two fingers.

An ice wall erupted from the ground.

The wind blades shattered upon impact.

Before the assassin could retreat— Whoosh!

An ice spear pierced straight through his heart.

Two more assassins attacked KING simultaneously.

One wrapped his daggers in lightning.

The other enhanced his body with earth magic.

KING calmly stepped forward.

The lightning dagger missed by mere centimeters.

He caught the earth-enhanced assassin’s wrist.

Crack!

The arm twisted unnaturally.

Before the man could scream…

KING drove his knee into the assassin’s stomach.

Boom!

The man’s body folded in half before flying across the street.

The second assassin rushed in again.

KING turned.

His fist met the assassin’s face.

Silence.

For a brief moment…

Nothing happened.

Then— Boom!

The assassin’s body exploded backward, crashing into a nearby warehouse.

Dust filled the street.

The remaining assassins finally realized something.

“We…” “…can’t win.” “They’re monsters!” The leader immediately shouted, “Retreat!” But it was already too late.

Shadow appeared directly in front of him.

“You were sent by the Ye Family.” It wasn’t a question.

The assassin’s pupils shrank.

“How…” Shadow’s red eyes remained fixed upon him.

“Answer.” The assassin gritted his teeth.

“I’d rather die.” Shadow calmly nodded.

“As you wish.” Just before Shadow’s sword reached his neck— “Wait!” “I’ll talk!” Shadow stopped.

The blade remained only an inch away.

Sweat poured down the assassin’s face.

“It…” “It was Patriarch Ye’s order.” “He feared your talent.” “He said…” “…if you were allowed to live…” “…the Ye Family would eventually be destroyed.” Silence.

KING looked toward Shadow.

Shadow looked back.

Neither needed to speak.

Their decision had already been made.

KING calmly said, “We’re going.” The assassin blinked.

“W-Where?” Shadow answered in his usual emotionless tone.

“To fulfill his prediction.” The assassin’s face turned pale.

“…No…” “…Please…” “You can’t…” Before he could finish— A swift slash echoed through the night.

His body fell motionless.

The streets became silent once more.

Ten assassins.

None survived.

Not a single drop of blood had reached the hotel entrance.

KING looked toward the sleeping city.

“The hotel.” Shadow nodded.

“I’ll place a barrier.” Stretching out his hand, Shadow quietly released layers of magical energy.

Invisible runes spread across the building before disappearing.

“A defensive barrier.” “It will remain until morning.” KING turned toward the direction of the Ye Mansion.

“Let’s finish this.” The Ye Mansion stood proudly in the northern district of Azure Wind City.

Its towering walls and magnificent gates represented the Ye Family’s power for generations.

Inside…

Patriarch Ye sat comfortably in the main hall.

A servant smiled.

“Patriarch…” “By now the assassins should have completed their mission.” Patriarch Ye nodded.

“No matter how talented they were…” “They were still children.” “They should never have humiliated the Ye Family.” At that exact moment— Boom!!

The enormous front gate exploded into countless fragments.

The entire mansion shook violently.

Every servant screamed in panic.

Dust filled the courtyard.

Slowly…

Two figures walked through the smoke.

Black robes.

Calm expressions.

Crimson red eyes reflecting the moonlight.

KING.

Shadow.

The entire courtyard fell silent.

Patriarch Ye slowly stood.

His confident smile disappeared.

“…Impossible.” “You should be dead.” KING stopped several meters away.

“You sent ten assassins.” Patriarch Ye remained silent.

Shadow continued, “They failed.” “They confessed.” Silence spread across the mansion.

Every guard instinctively stepped backward.

Fear filled their eyes.

Patriarch Ye suddenly roared, “What are you all waiting for?!” “Kill them!” More than a hundred guards rushed forward at once.

Flames.

Lightning.

Wind.

Earth.

Water.

Different magical attributes illuminated the courtyard.

The night itself seemed to erupt into chaos.

Shadow slowly unsheathed his sword.

KING clenched his fist.

Neither showed the slightest fear.

Instead…

They took one step forward.

The judgment of the Ye Family…

Had begun.
