Jiang Wan completely ignored the doubt and mockery coming from behind her. Her gaze never wavered from the man.

Lu Yanzhou adjusted his gold-rimmed glasses with his well-defined fingers, his eyes locking onto her face. “What is your name?”

Jiang Wan pursed her lips and did not answer.Full novel: At Nightfall, Third Master Bows to His Sweet Little Darling — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Xu Yi raised her hand. “Professor Yan, her name is Jiang Wan!”

Lu Yanzhou gave a slight hum of acknowledgment. “Which characters? Is it the ‘Wan’ from the line ‘remembering the binding of long willow branches, finding it hard to part’?”

“Yes, yes, that’s the one!”

Lu Yanzhou looked at the silent Jiang Wan and let out a shallow smile. “It’s a nice name.”

Jiang Wan sat down amidst the glares of the other girls, feeling as though she were sitting on a bed of needles.

She clenched her fists.

What did this man mean by that?

Could it be that he recognized her and was calling her out on purpose?

When the lecture ended, a crowd of girls rushed to the podium to ask for his contact information.

“Professor Yan, do you have a girlfriend?” a bold girl asked point-blank.

Lu Yanzhou picked up his wristwatch from the desk and put it on. As he gathered his textbooks, he smiled. “I’m married.”

The girls retreated in disappointment.

Married…

Hearing those words, Jiang Wan felt a sharp constriction in her chest.

She was so angry she could spit blood.

He was married and still out here moonlighting as a gigolo?

It was bad enough that she had “strayed” herself, but she had accidentally “strayed” with a married man. Heavens!

What a total collapse of morality!

Jiang Wan hurriedly packed her books and fled the classroom.

The man’s gaze followed her figure, the corner of his lips curling into an almost imperceptible arc. Then, as if nothing had happened, he sent a message on his phone.

Just as she reached the ground floor, her phone buzzed with a text.

The contact name was: Cuckold Man!

This was the first time her “husband,” whom she had never even met, had sent her a message!

She clicked it open.

[The photos were taken well. Take more; I like them.]

Jiang Wan’s hand trembled as she held the phone, a chill running down her spine.

What an old pervert!

He really wasn’t a “normal man”!

“Sister, you came to school?”

By chance, she ran into Jiang Qing and her friend Chen Feixue outside the school gates.

Both of them were in the Finance Department.

Jiang Wan frowned and didn’t respond.

Chen Feixue spoke with a hidden sting in her voice. “It’s all the same whether a village girl who didn’t even finish middle school comes or not. It’s not like she understands anything anyway. Didn’t she fail her classes regardless?”

“Feixue, don’t say that.” Jiang Qing pulled at her. “Wanwan is my sister. She just didn’t finish middle school, so she couldn’t adapt to suddenly being in university. Don’t make things difficult for her.”

After saying that, she looked at Jiang Wan with an air of earnest concern. “Sister, it’s good that you’re back in class. After all, your studies are very important. No matter how many years you have to repeat, I truly hope you can graduate successfully.”

Every word was a clear mockery of her inability to graduate, but Jiang Wan didn’t take any of it to heart. She flashed a smile. “No need to worry yourself. I’ll graduate whenever I feel like it.”

She walked straight past them.

“What’s with the act!” Chen Feixue watched her walk away, then said in confusion, “Qingqing, she’s just a country bumpkin your family adopted. Is there any need to be so nice to her?”

The smile on Jiang Qing’s face faded slightly.

All her classmates and friends believed she was the true daughter of the Jiang family and that Jiang Wan was the one who had been adopted.

All those who had flattered her over the years did so because of her background as the Jiang family’s young miss.

Fortunately, Jiang Wan was a Calamity Star who wasn’t valued by the Jiang family!

And she was inferior to Jiang Qing in every way.

This “real” heiress was only fit to be trampled under her feet!

She would never be able to hold her head up!

“Feixue, you don’t understand. I’ve treated her like a real sister all these years, and my parents treat her as if she were their own. I sincerely want the best for her, but she’s been messing around with other men.” Jiang Qing looked deeply pained, like a relative helplessly watching a loved one walk down a path of no return.

Chen Feixue was shocked. “She’s messing around with other men?”
