Chapter 17: Legendary II

Awakening the Useless Class...But I am Secretly the Strongest!

Ryan slowly rolled up the blueprint and stored it in his inventory.

"This one is pretty useful."

The Sacred Ward Totem wasn’t a direct offensive skill, but its purification ability could be extremely useful in dangerous dungeons.

Especially against monsters that relied on poison, curses, or other negative effects.

Ryan looked at the required materials again.

"Most of these shouldn’t be too difficult to find."

"The Holy Silver Powder and Light Crystal Dust might be expensive, though."

He made a mental note to search for them when he returned to Silver River City.

He then checked the other blueprints he already possessed.

The Serpent Venom Totem could provide a powerful poison-based attack.

The Blade of Purification could deal with powerful enemies.

And now the Sacred Ward Totem could provide continuous protection and purification.

Ryan nodded.

"My totem collection is becoming pretty useful."

He closed the blueprint window and checked his remaining rewards.

There were still plenty of materials from the Black Water Wyvern.

The meat could be sold or used by his family.

The bones could be used by Necromancers or crafters.

The scales could be turned into armor and weapons.

The blood could also be used for crafting.

Ryan suddenly remembered the Necromancer who had approached him earlier.

"That guy wanted the wyvern bones."

He took out the business card Maxim had given him.

"I might sell some of the materials to him."

Ryan put the card away.

"But I’ll deal with that after returning to the city."

He then looked at the Black Water Wyvern standing quietly nearby.

The enormous spirit was still only Level 1, despite the strength of its original body.

Ryan opened its status screen.

Summon Status

Name: Black Water Wyvern

Race: Lesser Draconic Beast

Rank: Boss

Level: 1

Strength: 120

Agility: 90

Constitution: 150

Intelligence: 80

Talent: Poison Manipulation ( A Rank)

Skills:

Black Water Breath (Lv. 1)

Venom Claw (Lv. 1)

Wing Gust (Lv. 1)

Water Regeneration (Lv. 1)

Ryan looked at the numbers.

"Not bad for Level 1."

Its base attributes were already much higher than those of ordinary monsters.

"Once it reaches a higher level, it should become extremely powerful."

Ryan then looked at Blizzy.

The little Ice Spirit was now much larger than when he first summoned it.

"Blizzy has reached Level 61."

He then looked at the Orc Shaman Chief.

"Level 78."

The Spirit Wolf was Level 79, while the Spirit Serpent was Level 77.

Ryan nodded.

"All of them are getting stronger."

He recalled the summons one after another, leaving only the Black Water Wyvern beside him.

"I’ll let the others rest for now."

Ryan then checked his own status again.

His eyes immediately moved to his available stat points.

Stat Points: 66

He had gained additional points from leveling up.

Ryan thought for a moment.

His current attributes were already extremely high because of Perfect Loot.

However, he still needed 80 more Constitution to reach 500 and safely consume the Black Dragon Blood Drop.

"First, I’ll put all seventy points into Constitution."

He allocated the points.

Constitution: 420 → 486

Ryan looked at his updated Constitution.

Constitution: 486

"Only fourteen more points."

He then looked at the Black Water Wyvern.

Since the wyvern was already a Level 1 summon, letting it gain experience alongside him would also help it grow stronger.

Ryan glanced toward the dungeon exit before changing his mind.

"Actually, I might as well stay here and level up."

The Blackwater Cave Dungeon was an A-Rank Tier 0 dungeon, which meant the monsters inside were strong enough to provide him with good experience.

Ryan also remembered that he only gained one stat point per level because of his current F-Rank Knight Class.

"Since I need fourteen more Constitution, I need fourteen more levels."

He wasn’t in a hurry.

He could slowly gain those levels while allowing his new summon to level up at the same time.

Ryan looked at the Black Water Wyvern.

"You also need to get stronger."

The wyvern lowered its head and gave a quiet growl.

Ryan smiled.

"Then let’s stay here for a while."

He climbed onto the wyvern’s back.

The huge beast spread its wings and took off.

Whoosh!

The powerful gust pushed the loose stones across the cave floor.

Ryan quickly noticed how much faster the wyvern was compared to traveling on foot.

"Flying really is convenient."

The wyvern followed the path Ryan had memorized earlier and flew deeper into the dungeon.

Ryan activated Spirit Sense while searching for groups of monsters.

After a few minutes, he detected several powerful presences ahead.

"There’s a group nearby."

He pointed toward the tunnel.

"Let’s go."

The Black Water Wyvern accelerated.

The moment they entered the next chamber, several large aquatic monsters noticed them.

Ryan immediately recognized them as Blackwater Crocodiles.

Their bodies were covered in thick black scales, and their mouths were filled with long teeth.

The strongest among them was Level 48.

Ryan didn’t summon his other spirits.

"Wyvern, handle them."

The Black Water Wyvern roared and spread its wings.

It opened its mouth.

A large amount of dark water gathered inside.

BOOOOM!

A stream of poisonous black water blasted across the chamber.

Several crocodiles were hit directly and thrown backward.

Ryan watched from the wyvern’s back.

"Your Black Water Breath is pretty useful."

The remaining monsters charged toward them.

The wyvern landed and swung its massive tail.

BANG!

One crocodile was sent flying.

Another tried to bite its leg.

The wyvern immediately used Venom Claw.

Slash!

Its claws pierced through the monster’s scales.

Poison spread through the wound, and the crocodile quickly collapsed.

Ryan didn’t interfere.

He simply watched his new summon fight.

The Black Water Wyvern was only Level 1, but its natural physical strength and boss-level abilities were already enough to deal with these monsters.

As it defeated more enemies, experience began flowing into its body.

Ryan also received experience from the kills.

A notification appeared.

[Black Water Wyvern has defeated a Blackwater Crocodile.]

[Experience gained.]

[Black Water Wyvern Level: 1 → 9]

Ryan smiled.

"Good."

"Let’s keep going."

He continued hunting through the dungeon with the Black Water Wyvern.

Each battle gave the wyvern more experience.

Ryan also continued gaining levels.

He wasn’t expecting to become much stronger from the dungeon itself anymore.

His main goal was simple.

Reach 500 Constitution.

Once he did, he could finally consume the Black Dragon Blood Drop.

Ryan looked at the dungeon map.

"There are still plenty of monsters deeper inside."
