“If you don’t move aside, you’re next.”

Yan Qing viciously pointed the iron rod at the red haired woman with large curls, scaring her into taking a step back. She no longer dared say another word.

At that moment, the hotel manager finally regained his composure and stepped forward.Full novel: Back to 100 Days Before the Apocalypse: I Sold My Possessions and Frantically Stockpiled Supplies — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

As a seasoned internet surfer and someone deeply interested in Apocalypse Survival Guide, even though the official authorities had removed it, he still had a copy saved on his phone.

“Everyone, calm down. Let’s talk things out. If Miss Yan hadn’t saved us just now, we’d all be dead.”

Standing beside Yan Qing, the hotel manager stretched out both hands and tried to persuade everyone kindly.

Unfortunately, the people around them clearly did not buy it.

“Who the hell are you supposed to be? Do you know who I am?! I’m the young master of the Song Corporation! I’m ordering you right now. From this moment onward, you are to protect me at all times! If anything happens to me, my father won’t let you off!”

The same young man from earlier pointed at the hotel manager with a look of disgust.

Yan Qing looked at him but said nothing.

“A bunch of idiots. Get lost!”

Looking at this bunch of fools, she directly knocked out the two people blocking the hotel entrance and swiftly opened the doors and went outside.

The movements flowed smoothly in one motion.

Seeing how quickly Yan Qing escaped, the hotel manager followed right behind her before the others could react.

Yan Qing glanced back at the hotel manager following behind her but said nothing.

The people left behind in the hotel began cursing furiously at the backs of the two of them.

None of them looked anything like the same people who had cried for their parents while being chased by zombies just moments earlier.

As Yan Qing and the hotel manager made their way forward while clearing zombies along the road, they eventually arrived at an unrented storefront.

There were only a few zombies nearby.

Yan Qing directly smashed open the rolling shutter lock with brute force.

The sound of the shutter opening immediately attracted several more zombies.

Yan Qing quickly bent down and went inside, while the hotel manager followed close behind.

Once inside, the manager yanked the shutter back down.

The zombies drawn over scratched their fingernails across the metal shutter, producing a horrifying screeching sound.

Scrrraatch, scrrraatch…

The hotel manager was so frightened that he stumbled backward repeatedly.

After Yan Qing gestured for silence, he forcefully held back any sounds.

Only after a while did the zombies outside finally leave.

The two of them let out a sigh of relief.

“Um… Miss Yan… did you also read Apocalypse Survival Guide?”

Leaning against the wall and bending over while staring at the iron rod in his hands, the hotel manager tried finding a topic to distract himself from his fear.

“Mhm.”

“No wonder you carried two iron rods with you… Then where are you planning to go now?”

Yan Qing glanced at him and remained silent.

Was she supposed to tell him she was on her way to kill people?

Seeing Yan Qing ignore him, the hotel manager awkwardly rubbed his nose with his finger.

Instantly, a rotten stench entered his nostrils.

Only then did he remember his hands were covered in zombie “fluids.”

Unable to bear it anymore, he ran to a corner and began vomiting.

After throwing up, he turned around and looked at Yan Qing, who was still completely clean, including her fair hands.

Then he looked down at his own pitch black hands…

And suddenly started questioning life.

Looking at the hotel manager’s miserable appearance, Yan Qing almost burst out laughing.

She felt a little guilty.

Her sense of humor was admittedly a little strange.

“Hotel Manager, what about you? Aren’t you going home to look for your family?”

The hotel manager froze for a few seconds after hearing her address him that way.

Then he looked apologetically at Yan Qing.

“I’m really sorry, Miss Yan. I haven’t properly introduced myself. My name is Feng Yinan.”

Then he let out a bitter smile.

“I’ve long since lost my family. They passed away when I was ten.”

“Sorry.”

Yan Qing turned her head and looked at Feng Yinan.

For the first time, she carefully examined him from top to bottom.

Feng Yinan looked extremely disheveled right now.

He sat casually on the floor, staring at the iron rod in his hands.

The suit that was normally pressed without a single wrinkle was now completely crumpled, and there was not a clean spot on it.

His sharply defined face was covered with dirt from who knew where, and his previously flashy hairstyle had turned into a chaotic bird’s nest.

Still, he actually looked much younger now.

At the hotel, he had looked at least thirty something.

Now he looked only twenty five or twenty six.

Sitting on the floor, Feng Yinan noticed Yan Qing’s gaze and turned to look at her too.

Then he gave her a small smile.

Yan Qing raised an eyebrow.

Oh.

He even had dimples.

After looking away, Yan Qing quietly began thinking of how to ditch Feng Yinan later.

He would most likely keep following her.

After all, he was alone too and had no real destination.

Suddenly, a brilliant idea flashed through her mind.

“Mr. Feng, come over here for a second.”

With an obviously fake smile on her face, Yan Qing waved at him.

Feng Yinan hesitated slightly after seeing her fake smile but still walked over.

Looking at Feng Yinan standing before her, she realized he was one and a half heads taller than her.

Not easy to make a move.

“I’ll tell you where I’m going…”

She gestured for him to lean down.

Seeing that Feng Yinan was completely defenseless around her, Yan Qing decisively found her chance and chopped the side of his neck with a hand strike.

The next second, Feng Yinan turned around and stared at Yan Qing in disbelief.

Then his eyes rolled back and he collapsed unconscious.

Yan Qing quickly caught him before he hit the floor and dragged him further inside.

After laying Feng Yinan down, she prepared to turn and leave.

But then she looked back at him.

Feng Yinan was lying there quietly with his eyes closed.

“Considering you helped me before, I’ll show a tiny bit of kindness.”

Yan Qing pulled out one of the portable bundles she had prepared and casually tossed it beside him.

Inside were several bottles of water, steamed buns, dry rations, compressed biscuits, a small knife, and several face masks.

Then she looked at Feng Yinan’s suit and pulled out a set of men’s sportswear and pants from her space before placing them on him.

Afterward, she turned and left the warehouse, heading toward Yan Xia’s home.

Along the way, she avoided fighting whenever possible in order to conserve energy.

Just as she was one street away from the urban village where Yan Xia lived, a familiar voice suddenly rang out.

A voice so familiar that her blood instantly boiled.

“Cousin! Cousin! Save me! Hurry and save us!”

She instantly stopped walking and turned toward the alley on her right.

There stood her eldest uncle’s family trapped inside, along with Cheng Yutang standing protectively in front of Yan Xia.

Her eyes lit up upon seeing them.

With nobody around…

She could directly kill them all and eliminate future trouble!

An excited Yan Xia ran toward her while staring nervously at the zombies surrounding them, afraid they would be eaten right then and there.

Although Yan Qing knew in her heart they would not die yet.

Otherwise, how could they have appeared in that shopping mall in her previous life and begged her for help?

But then…

Who had saved them?

She absolutely had to kill them before that person arrived.

Yan Qing kept calculating in her mind.

Just as she closed in to less than ten meters and prepared to take out her Tang saber from her space and end their lives…

A figure holding some kind of blade suddenly charged out from the other side and began hacking nonstop at the surrounding zombies.

Damn it.

Why had they arrived so fast?

Just as she was hesitating over whether she should simply eliminate this person too…

That person turned and looked at Yan Qing.

Their eyes met.

One face remained expressionless.

The other’s eyes sparkled brightly.
