Unfortunately for them, they were disappointed.

Until everyone safely returned to the cave, not a single zombie appeared.

After washing up, Yan Qing also took off the Tang blade she carried and cleaned it. Da An kept swimming around in the water nonstop as well.Full novel: Back to 100 Days Before the Apocalypse: I Sold My Possessions and Frantically Stockpiled Supplies — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

After cleaning her Tang blade, she went ashore first. Holding the Tang blade in hand, she chopped down some small branches at the riverbank and gathered some dry wood.

The children who came ashore behind her also copied Yan Qing and started picking up fallen branches from the ground.

When the others saw what Yan Qing and the children were doing, they voluntarily used their weapons to knock down tree branches and carried them back into the cave after coming ashore.

After returning to the cave, they piled together the branches, leaves, and other materials they had brought back.

Yan Qing then found two suitable pieces of wood and used her Tang blade to shape them before starting a fire by friction.

While adding firewood, she secretly took several long burning logs out of her space and tossed them into the fire while no one was paying attention.

She first let the elderly and children sit in the inner circle around the fire to dry their soaking wet clothes while everyone else sat in the outer circle.

Once the elderly and children finished drying their clothes and moved outward, the people on the outside moved inward.

Yan Qing deliberately chose to sit in the inner circle last.

She watched everyone stare blankly into the dancing flames of the fire before clapping her hands to draw their attention.

“Everyone, survivors, in order for us to work well together moving forward, let’s introduce ourselves first.

I’ll start, then continue to the right.

My name is Yan Qing, I’m twenty two years old, and before the apocalypse I was a martial arts instructor.”

After Yan Qing finished speaking, she looked toward the man to her right.

The man nodded.

“My name is Zhou Shou, I’m thirty one years old. Before the apocalypse I was a construction engineer.”

“My name is Wang Yi, I’m twenty six years old. Before the apocalypse I was a chef.”

“My name is Cha Xiaofan, I’m twenty three years old. Before the apocalypse I was a kindergarten teacher…”

“My name is…”

An hour and a half later, everyone had introduced their jobs and skills from before the apocalypse.

Yan Qing had already memorized everyone’s faces, names, and professions.

Among them were chefs, construction engineers, bank employees, teachers, fitness trainers, and more.

All of them were ordinary people.

Including Yan Qing herself.

At the same time, a rough plan had already begun forming in Yan Qing’s mind, though it was still vague.

“Miss Yan, do you have any plans for what comes next?”

Cha Xiaofan looked at Yan Qing, who had lowered her head in thought, and could not help asking.

“I do have a few ideas, but nothing concrete yet. For now, everyone should rest properly. Unless absolutely necessary, don’t leave this place. We’ll use it as our temporary base.”

After drying her clothes, she left the fire and brought Da An straight toward the injured area, checking everyone’s conditions one by one.

“Miss Yan… when… when will they wake up?”

A young woman with shoulder length short hair and a face covered in tears walked up.

Yan Qing turned and looked at the woman whose eyes were full of worry.

A name surfaced in her mind.

Lin Wan.

Before the apocalypse, she had been a bank employee.

Lin Wan’s husband had been extremely unlucky.

Out of all the injured people, he had suffered the most severe zombie bites.

Not only had he sustained multiple fractures all over his body, but his face and arms had suffered especially serious injuries.

Even the little finger on his right hand was missing, probably already sitting inside some zombie’s stomach.

Yan Qing stretched out her hands and checked the foreheads of each unconscious patient.

She had already made a judgment.

None of them had started developing fevers yet.

Their lives needed to be stabilized with treatment as soon as possible.

“I’m not sure exactly when they’ll wake up either. Later, tell everyone to rest first. I’m going out to look for medicine and food.”

Yan Qing withdrew her hand and spoke to Lin Wan beside her.

“Miss Yan, by yourself…”

“No problem.”

Yan Qing turned around and waved a hand behind her without even looking back.

Holding Da An, she headed straight toward the cave entrance six meters above the ground.

Under Lin Wan’s confused gaze, Yan Qing suddenly jumped right out of the cave entrance.

“Miss Yan!!”

“No, Miss Yan!!”

Lin Wan felt her mind explode with a loud boom.

Yan Qing had jumped straight out in front of her eyes.

The cave was six meters above the ground!

Not sixty centimeters.

Everyone heard Lin Wan’s panicked screams.

They only saw Yan Qing’s figure jump down and had no time to react.

Da An, still in Yan Qing’s arms, had not even processed what happened before she carried him right over the edge.

His eyes widened as he let out terrified dog cries nonstop, convinced they were about to be smashed into pieces.

By the time Lin Wan and the others stumbled over and looked down from the cave entrance…

Yan Qing had already landed safely.

The bloody scene they imagined never happened.

Da An, meanwhile, immediately struggled out of Yan Qing’s arms and jumped to the ground.

All four dog legs trembled uncontrollably.

He was one hundred percent angry and one hundred percent dissatisfied.

The whole dog had been scared out of his wits.

With trembling legs, Da An paced in circles several times before finally barking furiously toward the sky to vent his outrage.

Yan Qing sensed people watching from above.

Thoughtfully, she raised her head toward the cave.

A pile of heads were stacked together at the entrance, staring at her.

The corners of her mouth twitched upward.

That ridiculous sense of humor of hers had appeared again…

She forcibly suppressed her smile, lowered her head with a calm expression, and quickly headed toward her RV.

By now, the sky had completely darkened.

After getting into the vehicle, she first took out the notebook recording her revenge list and looked at the name and address written inside.

Hu Xiaoguo.

After putting the notebook back into her space, she drove the RV along the national road on the left side of the mountain.

In her previous life, she had encountered Hu Xiaoguo in Dawan Village, which was about an hour and a half away by car from this mountain.

Dawan Village twisted and turned through hills connected one after another.

The villagers’ homes were built on flat areas of the hills and were not densely packed.

Because the houses were spread apart, and because Hu Xiaoguo had been a homebody, she had still been gaming at home when the zombie outbreak occurred.

As a result, Hu Xiaoguo had very fortunately become the village’s only survivor.

While gaming at home, Hu Xiaoguo had even sighed emotionally over her parents unexpectedly allowing her to stay up all night playing.

Only when the second day arrived did she realize something was wrong.

Walking over to her bedroom window and looking outside, she found the village completely empty.

In place of people, there were countless zombies.

Hu Xiaoguo noticed two zombies wearing very familiar clothes.

They were her parents!

She looked toward the other wandering zombies in the village.

“Uncle Hu next door, Village Chief Grandpa…”

Hu Xiaoguo immediately covered her mouth in panic, not daring to make a sound.

She realized that everyone in the village had already turned into zombies.

At once, she thought of the zombies from novels, movies, anime, and games.

Those zombies could not hear noises.

She could not get too close to them.

She absolutely could not let them discover she was still here…
