Staring at the dog in absolute shock, Doudou looked back and forth between it and the leash on its paw, then turned to stare at his big brother in sheer disbelief. “Shushu, you actually treated Doudou like a dog?!”
The neighbor had been completely clueless until his drama-queen dog proactively hooked the leash.
Seeing Bai Shu’s flustered expression alongside Doudou’s tiny face puffed up with righteous anger, the neighbor instantly wanted to vanish from the face of the earth.
Embarrassed, he mumbled, “I suddenly remembered I have something to attend to at home, so I’ll be taking my dog and heading out first.”
With that, he tugged on the leash, preparing to haul the corgi away.
However, the corgi clearly took a great liking to this human toddler who sported the exact same style of leash. Before leaving, it proactively waddled over to rub against Doudou, promptly knocking the little fellow right onto his rear end.
Doudou sat there in total bewilderment, accepting the dog’s affectionate nuzzles and rubs.
His little hands instinctively went up to wrap around the corgi’s fluffy head.
That only made the corgi even more excited, and it raised its paws in an attempt to tackle Doudou down.
Fortunately, the neighbor stepped right in, scooped up the short-legged corgi in his arms, and scurried off.
“We’ll head back first, you guys take your time strolling.”
The corgi even let out a reluctant little woof as it went.
Hahahahahahaha I’m dying of laughter, what a massive family-reunion scene! That corgi is so smart for proactively hooking the leash to give Doudou a heads-up. Doudou never imagined his beloved Shushu was walking him like a dog. He looks completely devastated, and I’m crying from laughing so hard. Doudou is too hilarious, I’m laughing my brains out. Doudou’s little hands remained outstretched, his face frozen in a daze. He suddenly realized the dog’s movements felt strangely familiar.
Wasn’t that identical to the exact routine and posture he used whenever he acted spoiled with Shushu?
First you nuzzle, then you do sticky-cuddles, and finally you demand kisses before stubbornly refusing to leave your big brother’s embrace.

Standing awkwardly to one side, Bai Shu explained in a fluster, “Big Brother just told you, this was completely a coincidence! When Big Brother bought it, I had no idea it was a dog leash, otherwise I never would have used it on you. You’re the absolute, most important big darling in Big Brother’s heart, you know.”
Bai Shu pulled the child up, wanting to scoop him into his arms to coax him, but the moment he remembered how Doudou had just been licked and rubbed all over by the corgi, he suddenly couldn’t bring himself to touch him.
Noticing his big brother’s hesitation, Doudou plopped his little bottom right back down onto the ground with a soft thud.

The next second, he buried his face against Bai Shu’s shoulder and let out a triumphant, muffled chuckle.
Shushu’s eyes wouldn’t lie.
So Doudou would trust him once more.
After that, Bai Shu proceeded to cave in to several more demands from the little fellow. Right as Doudou was about to throw another full-blown tantrum, he finally stopped and declared, “Alrighty, that’s everything for now. When we get back, you have to take a bath with Doudou first, and you’re not allowed to dislike me Doudou gets to play in the water for as long as he wants!”
Bai Shu agreed readily on the surface: “Mhm mhm, whatever you say.”
We’ll deal with getting back home when we actually get there; anyway, he had made the promise outside.
It had nothing to do with how things would be handled once they were indoors.
Along the way back, they ran into quite a few people walking their dogs on leashes.

Shushu is ready to dig a hole and crawl right inside.
At last, they arrived back at the entrance of the residential complex.
The security guard was strolling near the gate with his hands behind his back. Seeing Bai Shu carry Doudou back, he smiled and remarked, “Aiyo, finished walking the child?”
Bai Shu… The security guard, realizing his slip of the tongue…
He offered an awkward chuckle. “You heard wrong, I meant you’re back from your stroll.”
Doudou popped his little bottom out and piped up, “There was no mistake, Doudou was wearing a dog leash.”
The security guard: “Oh.”
Bai Shu: “We’ll head inside first.”
“Alrighty, take it easy, goodbye Doudou.”
“Bye-bye~”
Doudou waved his little hand the one still sporting the training leash at the guard.
His tiny face bloomed with a proud, victorious grin.
Back inside, Bai Shu panted heavily from sheer exhaustion. “Doudou, you really are a little pig. I give up. Sooner or later, you’re going to walk your big brother straight into an early grave.”
Bai Shu’s arms were completely sore.
Extending his small hand, Doudou chimed in, “Before that happens, please take off this dog leash for Doudou first.”

The kid was actually getting hooked on this now. Clearly, earlier he could take it on and off by himself just fine, but ever since learning it was a dog leash, he had kept harping on about it.
Gritting his teeth, Bai Shu unbuckled the strap and snapped irritably, “I’m never taking you out with me ever again.”
Doudou’s eyes lit up as he eagerly verified, “Really? Does that mean Doudou doesn’t have to go out for walks anymore?! Yay~”
Bai Shu let out a cold laugh. “Think again. Since you like wearing a dog leash for your walks so much, we’re going out every single day from now on.
