Two adults supporting a tiny tricycle looked as bizarre as it could possibly get.
However, one of them was shy while the other was completely immersed in the fantasy of sweet romance, so neither of them noticed a single thing out of the ordinary.
The viewers hopping back and forth between the two livestreams were laughing their heads off.
Bai Shu was still caught up in the lingering awkwardness when he snapped out of it and saw Xie Xiran bending over to support the cart with a rather awkward posture.
Noticing the two cameras trailing behind them, Bai Shu quickly stopped. “Xie-ge, I can manage on my own.”
With that, he walked over and took Xie Xiran’s hand, separating him from the vehicle.
Xie Xiran was still lingering on the way Bai Shu had called him “Xie-ge” and asked happily, “What did you just call me?”
“Xie-ge, of course.”
“You can just call me Xiran or Brother Xiran.”
Xie Xiran deliberated for a moment, feeling like the title “Xie-ge” made him sound a bit old.
Xiran or Brother Xiran felt much more fitting.
Now it was Bai Shu’s turn to be flustered. His pretty face suddenly flushed red, and he stammered out, “Xi-, Brother Xiran.”
“Mm-hmm. Shushu.”
Bai Shu was walking with a stiff, same-side arm and leg gait the entire way back. It was all Doudou’s fault now everyone had started calling him Shushu.
Especially that utterance from Xie Xiran just a moment ago; hearing it felt so utterly embarrassing.
Bai Shu wished he could just find a hole to crawl into and hide.
He walked forward awkwardly, completely forgetting about the tricycle as he hurried away from the scene while radiating heat.
The cameraman wanted to call out to him, but Xie Xiran stopped them.
Doudou was completely dumbfounded. Were his big brother and this bad guy actually a couple or not? Why was the atmosphere between the two of them so strange?
He had watched how his parents interacted, and it was either hugging or kissing.
So why did simply calling someone by name make Shushu run away from embarrassment?
Xie Xiran looked at the tricycle, then down at the two children sitting inside, and rolled up his sleeves. “Sit tight.”
With a long stride, he began pedaling the tricycle to catch up with Bai Shu.
When the cart started moving, Doudou almost tumbled over, crashing headfirst right into Xie Zhuyi’s arms.
Tears welled up instantly, and the little fellow’s mouth drooped. “Wuwuwu “
His forehead had bumped against him again.
Xie Zhuyi wrapped his arms around the younger boy and frowned as he looked at the sobbing child.
This little baby was so delicate! He was the one who had gotten bumped, yet he hadn’t even cried.
Still, since he was the older brother, he quickly patted the child’s back to coax him. “Don’t cry, don’t cry. I’ll give you a piece of candy.”
Doudou felt as though a bump was about to swell up right on his forehead. Life was just too hard.
The little fellow was deeply aggrieved, and all of this was captured on camera. Pressing his face into Xie Zhuyi’s chest, he refused to face reality.
He had only cried twice since the broadcast started today, and both times it was because he hit his head.
Doudou was finding it a bit hard to accept.
The cameraman had just gotten out of the car intending to film on foot, only to find Bai Shu striding ahead while Xie Xiran followed closely behind on the tricycle.
They had no choice but to jog to keep up.
Watching the Best Actor riding a tiny tricycle ahead of them, they couldn’t help wiping a thin layer of sweat from their foreheads.
They had a strong feeling the Best Actor’s persona had completely shattered. They just hoped he wouldn’t come looking to settle scores with them later.
After all, they were just working stiffs.
Xie Xiran was practically bursting with happiness right now. It was his first time riding a vehicle like this; with the breeze blowing against his shirt, he was riding a bicycle to catch up with his crush.
It gave the older man a sense of being transported back to his school days.
Back when he was young, he had filmed plenty of campus dramas, where chasing your love interest on a bicycle was a classic cliché.
He never expected he’d get to experience it himself today.
Xie Xiran’s attention was entirely focused on Bai Shu up ahead, leaving him completely unaware of what was happening behind him.
Xie Zhuyi was already busy wiping Doudou’s tears.
He had noticed it just now Doudou’s forehead was red.
He planted a quick kiss right on top of Doudou’s head. “A kiss makes it all better.”
Doudou: ……
His little fists clenched silently.
It was one thing for the bad guy to take advantage of his big brother, but now the bad guy’s younger brother was actually taking advantage of him.
However, since Xie Zhuyi had just helped him out earlier, Doudou didn’t think it was appropriate to throw a tantrum.
Xie Zhuyi couldn’t understand why Doudou looked so angry, his eyes practically blazing with fire.
“Do you not like kisses?” Xie Zhuyi asked, puzzled.
Doudou gritted his teeth. “I don’t!”
That wasn’t true at all; he loved getting kisses from Shushu and his parents, but he definitely didn’t want them from the bad guy’s little brother.
“Okay, I won’t kiss you next time, then.”
“Mhm.”
Hearing that, Doudou instantly stopped being mad. As long as the boy didn’t kiss him, his big brother and Shushu could break up later and they’d still be able to be good friends.
“If kisses are out, can we hold hands instead?” Xie Zhuyi rather liked this pretty little younger boy; the soft feeling of holding him in his arms just now had instantly awakened a strong protective urge in Xie Zhuyi, who didn’t have any younger siblings of his own.
Doudou pouted, turned his little face away, and finally muttered irritably, “Just this once.”
Xie Zhuyi nodded happily. “If I hold your hand, you won’t fall over anymore.”
Doudou twirled his little fingers together, a sudden surge of guilt welling up inside him.
By that point, however, his little hand was already gripped firmly in Xie Zhuyi’s palm.
Xie Zhuyi happily held Doudou’s soft little hand, even rubbing it against his own cheek.
Doudou’s hand really was soft.
With dark lines crossing his forehead, Doudou stared at the wildly excited Xie Zhuyi. Why was this kid so happy?
Right at that moment, upon catching sight of the security booth at the entrance of their yard, Bai Shu let out a mournful wail.
Damn it, he had completely forgotten about Doudou, Xie Xiran, and the rest of them.
When on earth was he going to break this habit of trying to escape whenever he felt embarrassed?
Bai Shu felt his hair standing on end in exasperation.
Tsk, you have to admit there’s still a sort of awkward sweetness between Bai Shu and Xie Xiran…Speechless, I actually feel like I’m shipping them. You run, and he chases you on a tricycle it’s clearly an idol drama trope, yet it feels so weird. Probably because Xie-ge looks like he’s riding a tricycle into town to sell vegetables. My hands are trembling slightly as I hold my cigarette never thought I’d live to see the day Xie-ge rides a tricycle to chase someone. Doesn’t it give you that “it’s so bizarre, but I want to take another look” illusion? I’ve almost forgotten Xie-ge’s previous image; my head is completely filled with the image of him pedaling a tricycle with two kids to chase down Shushu. The little sub-plot between Xie Zhuyi and Doudou in the back is hilarious too. Doudou actually despised being kissed. I saw that too! Doudou’s mouth was twitching slightly as he watched Xie Zhuyi grab his little hand and rub it around. He looked so disgusted. But honestly, forget Zhuyi if I were the one holding Doudou’s hand, I’d practically want to eat his little hand up. Doudou is too cute, a bundle of tiny expressions. He’s the exact opposite of Shushu Shushu runs away out of embarrassment every time, and this time he even forgot about Doudou and the rest of them. Ah, isn’t this his first time doing this? No, Shushu has this bad habit. Whenever he gets shy, he just wants to hide himself away. So cute hahaha, first time hearing about a habit like that.
In the end, Bai Shu decided to turn back for them. But before he had taken two steps, he saw Xie Xiran pedaling with his long legs, making that humble little tricycle look like a Ferrari beneath him.
With one long leg planted on the ground, Xie Xiran stopped steadily right in front of Bai Shu, the draft from his stop fluttering the stray hairs across Bai Shu’s forehead.
Xie Xiran reached out to take his hand, gesturing for him to sit on the side of the tricycle bed. “I’ll give you a ride.”
The two of them exchanged sweet, lingering gazes.
Doudou and Xie Zhuyi: ……
Without a shred of hesitation, Doudou stood up and shattered the atmosphere all over again, throwing his arms around his big brother’s back and scrambling to climb up.
“Shushu, carry me “
Kicking his little feet, he tried his absolute best to stick close to Bai Shu.
Bai Shu had barely settled himself when he was almost knocked backward by the sudden onslaught.
“Aiyo, take it easy.” Bai Shu helplessly hoisted Doudou onto his back. “You can ride in the cart next time. I’ll carry Doudou and lead the way for you guys for now.”
With that, he started walking ahead.
Although Xie Xiran felt a twinge of regret, seeing the tips of Bai Shu’s ears glowing red instantly lifted his spirits again.
He pedaled the tricycle to follow behind.
Seeing Bai Shu carry Doudou back, the security guard couldn’t help asking with a curious smile, “Where’s the cart?”
“The cart’s behind. We’ll have someone bring it back to you in a bit.”
The security guard was just about to wave his hand and say it was no big deal when he watched a man ridiculously more handsome than a deity ride his beat-up little tricycle right through the gates.
In that instant, he felt like his humble tricycle was practically glowing.
Passing by, Xie Xiran nodded politely to the security guard.
The security guard instinctively pulled out his phone and snapped a photo.
He suddenly felt like owning this tricycle had finally paid off.
Xie Xiran first unloaded Xie Zhuyi’s bicycle, then carried the groceries inside.
Xie Zhuyi hurried over to help in the back, and the two of them finished bringing everything in no time.
Bai Shu wanted to put Doudou down and head out to help, but Doudou played mischievous and refused to let him go.
“No, no, carry Doudou.”
The little rascal simply didn’t want him talking too much with Xie Xiran.
Bai Shu’s hair stood on end. “Are you getting down or not?”
Hearing Bai Shu’s voice, Xie Xiran walked in to take a look and immediately offered, “It’s fine. Does he want someone to carry him? I can put the groceries down and carry him instead.”
Bai Shu quickly declined. “No, no need. He’s just being mischievous on purpose.”
As he spoke, he gave the little fellow’s bottom a stealthy little pat.
Doudou wiggled his hips and pretended not to notice.
Xie Zhuyi ran in after setting down his things, grabbed his younger companion’s hand, and said, “Doudou, let big brother carry you.”
With that, he turned around with an eager look of anticipation.
Doudou looked at the anticipation in his eyes and wore a deadpan expression.
Why is this person so excited?
Since he’s asking for it, let’s test it out.
Doudou was extremely confident in his own weight; ideally, he wanted to crush Xie Zhuyi until he cried, and if crying didn’t work, he’d beat him until he did.
He’d use a conflict between kids to drive a wedge between Shushu and Xie Xiran.
“Hehehehe~”
Doudou let out a sinister chuckle.
This plan was simply too perfect.
“Shushu, put Doudou down.”
As soon as Doudou’s little feet touched the floor, he made a flying lunge straight toward Xie Zhuyi. Originally, his plan was to pin Xie Zhuyi underneath him and make him cry or if he couldn’t make him cry, beat him until he did.
Who would have thought that right as he lunged, Xie Zhuyi happened to want to shift his posture and turn around, causing the two of them to collide chest-to-chest in mid-air.
Together, they tumbled backward onto the soft rug.
Doudou crashed directly into Xie Zhuyi’s chin.
Splendidly, the expected sound of crying rang out right on cue.
“Waaaa “
Though actually, it was Doudou crying.
Doudou wailed miserably. My poor forehead!
