On Me Too!!!!
15: You …….
On Me Too!!!!
Chapter 15 — You ….
On Me Too!!!!
ROWAN It was no other than Professor Ashford.
I blinked hard, like my eyes were playing a cruel joke on me.
Once.
Twice.
Even a third time.
But he didn’t disappear..
It was really him.
Professor Adrian Ashford-My one-night stand.
And apparently, the person who had somehow found me sitting in my car and crying my eyes out.
I didn’t even know what to say.
For a moment, I completely forgot about Kelvin, the embarrassment, the tears, and everything that had happened just a few minutes ago.
Even the tears that had been falling endlessly suddenly stopped.
What was he doing here?
Why was he here?
How did he even find my car?
Had he been following me?
Or was this just another ridiculous coincidence?
Maybe all the crying and stress had finally made me lose my mind.
I continued staring at him without blinking, almost expecting him to disappear the moment I looked away.
He didn’t!
Instead, he lifted the pack of wipes slightly.
“Are you going to keep my hand hanging there without taking the wipe from me?” That was when I knew it was real and it wasn’t a dream.
I quickly took the wipe from him and forced a small, awkward smile while keeping my head bowed “Thank you, sir,” I muttered.
He didn’t say anything at first.
He simply stood there, looking at me.
I could practically feel his eyes on me.
“You shouldn’t cry anymore,” he finally said.
“You should be grateful that you were able to find out about everything on time.” He said it as though those words were supposed to magically fix everything and brighten my mood.
Grateful?
Was I supposed to suddenly smile and celebrate because my boyfriend had cheated on me and I had found out early?
Would finding out earlier somehow make the betrayal hurt less?
Why did he have to cheat on me in the first place?
Why did I have to find out this way?
So many questions raced through my mind, and for a second, I wanted to ask Professor Ashford all of them.
But I swallowed them because there was no point.
Besides, someone who could sleep with me one night and then stand in front of me the next day without even realizing I was the same person probably wasn’t going to understand why any of this mattered to me.
Thank you, sir,” I mumbled.
I pulled one wipe from the pack and pressed it against my eyes, trying to clean the mess of tears.
The second the wipe touched my skin, a sharp, burning pain exploded across my eyes.
“Ahhh—!” I screamed.
The pain was so sudden and intense that I squeezed my eyes shut and kept groaning, unable to open them again.
“What—what is it?
What’s wrong?” I heard his voice turn worried right away, but I couldn’t answer.
I threw the wipe away in panic and desperately used the sleeve of my shirt to rub my eyes instead.
“Are you okay?” I finally managed to speak through the burning “The wipes!” I cried.
“The wipes!
They’re hurting my eyes!” I heard him gasp.
“Oh, heaven!” Before I could say anything else, I felt him move closer.
I could hear him reaching around inside the car.
He quickly grabbed something from beside me.
I already knew it was the pack of wipes.
I tried opening my eyes, but the burning was still too strong.
I shut them again and cried out from the pain.
Was heaven personally against me today?
What exactly did I do to deserve this?
I carefully wiped my eyes with my shirt once more and slowly opened them just a little.
The pain had subsided a bit.
Everything looked red and blurry.
When I could finally focus, I saw Professor Ashford staring down at the pack of wipes in his hand.
He suddenly gasped and covered his mouth.
His eyes widened as he turned to me, looking completely guilty.
I stared at him with my red, stinging eyes, anger mixing with the leftover hurt.
“I… I am so sorry,” he said quickly.
“I didn’t know I gave you the harsh stinging face wipes.
Someone gifted them to me and I never checked what was inside.
I saw you crying and just wanted to help.
I had no idea it would hurt your eyes.” He looked at me with pity.
Those soft, almost puppy-like eyes made it impossible for me to stay angry at him.
The irritation I felt just moments ago simply melted away.
I hated that it worked.
I quickly looked away before he could notice how much his concern was affecting me.
I simply nodded and forced another small smile.
“Hope you are doing better now?” he asked me and, for a second I couldn’t even answer.
Why was he being this nice to me?
Why couldn’t he just leave me alone like a normal professor would?
Was he doing it on purpose?
I wanted to ask him why he had walked all the way to my car, offered me a wipe, and told me not to cry… but the words refused to come out.
Even though we had shared one night together, he was still my professor Asking something like that felt disrespectful.
So I decided it was better to keep quiet.
So I kept my mouth shut.
“I’m going to be okay, sir,” I finally said.
“I’ll definitely bounce back like nothing ever happened.” “That’s good to hear.” He gave me a small smile.
“You shouldn’t let this affect you too much.
You’re a very intelligent student, Rowan.
You shouldn’t deprive yourself of that because you’re crying and heartbroken.” I stared at him for a moment.
Seriously?
That was supposed to make me feel better?
Intelligent people deserved love too.
Everyone deserved love.
It didn’t matter how smart someone was, how successful they were, or how strong they looked on the outside.
Everyone deserved someone who would choose them and stay loyal to them.
I wanted to tell him that, but I didn’t.
Instead, I nodded.
“Yes, sir.” He smiled once more before turning around and walking away.
I sat there for a moment, took a deep breath, and started the car with shaky hands.
The entire journey, my mind was everywhere and no where at the same time.
……..
When I finally reached home, I parked in the garage and stepped out of the car.
I grabbed my bag and shut the car door.
I hadn’t even taken many steps toward the front door when I noticed a figure standing close to it.
Whoever it was had their back turned to me, so I couldn’t see the face clearly at first..
I walked faster.
And lo and behold… it was the bastard.
The moment he saw me, he dropped to his knees again.
“Lol,” I said out loud with a mocking tone.
“The joke just keeps writing itself,” I muttered.
“How many times do I have to tell you before you finally get it?” I asked, voice full of disgust.
Was embarrassing me at school not enough for you?
Do you want another audience right here in front of my house?” “I’m so sorry,” he pleaded.
“Please take me back.
Please, Rowan.” He sounded so desperate, as though saying sorry enough times would magically erase everything he had done.
“Aren’t you supposed to be cuddled up with my rival right now?” I asked with a cold scoff.
“Or isn’t he juicy enough for you anymore?” He didn’t answer— not that I expected him to.
I walked closer, bent down slightly, making him think I was finally going to forgive him Hope flashed across his face.
And then— I stood straight again and used my left hand to push him hard away from my door so I could get past.
“Move.” I unlocked the door and opened it.
I was just about to step inside when his voice stopped me.
“You aren’t supposed to cry this hard and be this heartbroken…….
when you also cheated on me.”
