ROWAN I didn’t even need to turn around.

I already knew who was talking.

That motherfucking bastard had the fucking nerves to call after me and demand that we talk.Full novel: [BL] Mr Professor, I Swore It Was Only One Night! — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Wasn’t me refusing to pick up his calls enough to give him the damn message to fuck off and stay out of my way?

Apparently not.

The moment I heard his voice, the wound I had been trying so hard to bury opened again.

Everything I had been trying not to think about came rushing back at once.

For a brief second, I wanted to turn around and give him a piece of my mind before walking away from him for good.

I was about to turn my head when I stopped myself…..

No.

I wasn’t giving him that satisfaction.

I took a slow breath, trying to calm myself down.

Then a single tear slipped from the corner of my eye and I wiped it away immediately, refusing to give that bastard the satisfaction of seeing me cry..

There was no point in turning around just to say something to him.

There was no use turning to face him.

He didn’t deserve a single word from me.

I was just going to ignore him and walk out of here.

I didn’t want to stand in the same space as him for even one more second.

I kept walking without looking back.

He kept calling after me.

“Rowan!!!!

Rowan!!!, please wait!” I tightened my grip around my bag and walked faster.

“Please hear me out!

Please, I cannot live without you!” I almost scoffed.

If you know you couldn’t live without me, then you shouldn’t have bothered cheating on me.

I murmured the words under my breath and kept moving.

I thought he would eventually understand that I wanted nothing to do with him.

Apparently, Kelvin had suddenly forgotten how to take a hint.

“Rowan, please.

Rowan, please!” he started shouting louder.

As if the cheating wasn’t enough.

Now he was screaming my name for the whole world to hear… I tried my best to ignore him.

But when he realized I wasn’t going to answer him, he quickened his steps and within seconds, he caught up with me.

Before I could react, I felt a hand grip my wrist firmly, stopping me in my tracks.

“Rowan, please!” I immediately stiffened.

“Please hear me out.

Hear what I have to say!” His voice was loud enough to make several people nearby stop and look at us.

My back was still turned to him.

My face was down.

I took another deep breath and slowly looked up… only to see that all eyes were beginning to turn toward us.

A few people had stopped completely to watch what was happening.

Others just glanced over and let out low murmurs.

Heaven only knew what they were saying.

This was exactly what I had been trying to avoid.

At that point I couldn’t hold the anger in anymore.

I turned to face him with pure disgust written all over my face.

I let out a loud, disgusted scoff and yanked my wrist out of his grip so hard that it clearly caught him off guard.

“Do not ever lay those cheating hands on me again,” I snapped.

“Or I am going to chop them off.” He stared at me for a second.

And instead of responding to my threat, he took another step toward me.

“Please, just hear me out.” I folded my arms across my chest.

“You deserve an explanation about what happened yesterday,” he continued desperately.

“Please, let me explain myself.” I stared at him.For a second, I couldn’t believe what I was hearing.

Then I burst into laughter.

“And who told you that I deserve an explanation?” My laughter died almost as quickly as it had started.

I stared at Kelvin with nothing but disgust.

“Is disrespecting me not enough?

Now you want to explain to me why you disrespected me?” He opened his mouth but I didn’t let him speak.

“Wait a minute.

Do you actually think I would forgive you after everything you made me go through?” I asked, my voice shaking with anger.

“Do you think I would just embrace you and pretend none of it happened?” “And to make things worse, you had the nerve to show your ugly face in front of me and ask for an explanation?” “That isn’t wh—” “Shhh.

Shhh.

Shhh.

Shhh.

Shhh… shush that fucking mouth of yours, Kelvin.” I pointed a finger straight at his face.

“Do not fucking say another word,” I warned him.

“I have heard enough.” “This is the last time I’m ever going to see you anywhere near me.

If I see you following me again, I promise you, I’ll sign a restraining order against you.” I turned my back on him and started walking again, expecting him to finally take the warning and leave me alone.

I only managed a few more steps before a hand gripped my arm and spun me around hard.

I was already preparing to slap him across the face… but the moment I turned, I froze.

He was on his knees…… crying “Please!!!

Please, Rowan.

Do not do this to me.

Do not leave me.

Please…” he sobbed, like I was the one who had abandoned him for no reason.

The attention I thought was already too much suddenly tripled.

Everyone around us had stopped completely.

Some people were already pulling out their phones, ready to record..

“Why are you doing this to me, Kelvin?” My voice cracked as I cried out in anger.

“Why are you embarrassing me?” I looked around helplessly.

“What did I ever do to you to make you embarrass me in front of all these people?!” “Please forgive me, Rowan,” he sobbed louder.

“I was stupid to treat you that way.

I promise to treat you right from now on.

He reached toward me, but I immediately stepped back.

“I promise I’ll give you all the attention you want, even if it means depriving myself of that attention.” That was when it finally clicked.

This wasn’t just an apology.

He knew exactly what he was doing.

He was making it seem like I was the heartless one.

Like I was the person abandoning a poor, crying boyfriend who was begging for forgiveness.

He was turning the whole thing around.

I slowly looked around again.

The murmurs were getting louder and louder.

People were whispering, staring, filming.

My mouth opened to say something, but no words came out.

My throat felt locked Then the rage exploded.

“You know what?!

Fuck off!!!” I shouted at him.

I turned and ran, tears already rushing down my face.

I pushed past the crowd without caring who I bumped into and sprinted straight to my car.

I yanked the door open, threw myself inside, and slammed it shut.

The second I was alone, I completely broke down.

My shoulders shook.

Ugly sobs tore out of my throat.

“Why is he doing this to me?” My voice trembled.

“Why can’t he just let me heal for heaven’s sake?” I covered my face with both hands.

The tears kept falling.

“Why, why, why?” My chest hurt so badly that I felt like I couldn’t breathe properly.

“Kelvin, why can’t you just…” My voice broke.

I couldn’t finish the sentence.

I wiped my face with my palm, but it was useless.

More tears immediately replaced the ones I had wiped away.

I leaned back against the seat and stared through the windshield with blurry eyes.

I just wanted peace.

Was that really too much to ask?

I had already been hurt enough.

Why couldn’t he just leave me alone and let me put myself back together?

I sniffed and wiped my cheeks again.

That was when I noticed someone standing beside my car.

Before I could even react, a hand suddenly stretched toward me, holding out a clean wipe.

“Here.

You’ve cried enough for someone who doesn’t deserve your tears.”
