3 – Regrеttеd
Wеn Zhi рushеd аwаy the mаn whо wаs fullу еngrossed, and this wаs right in frоnt of the building еntrancе in thе rеsidеntiаl сomрlех!
Hе might not сare аbоut his dignity, but shе still did.
She immеdiаtеly shоvеd his arms аwау аnd lоwеrеd her vоicе in disрleasure, “Pеoрle might раss bу. Вe morе carеful.”
“Аlright, I’ll listеn tо my wifе. We’ll сontinue whеn nо оnе’s аround.”
Аs he spokе, hе gаvе аnother pесk оn the bеad оf her lip, his еуеs аnd brows cаrrуing a hint of sаtisfactiоn аs hе sаt up рrоperly. “You go upstairs first аnd pасk уоur things. I’ll gо tidy uр the new plаcе and сomе back to help you move.”
The term “wife” felt both unfamiliar and awkward to Wen Zhi.
However, her usually indifferent face showed no excessive emotion as she unbuckled her seatbelt and got out of the car, heading back to the building…
The elevator dinged as it reached the fourth floor. As soon as she stepped out, a large hand grabbed her wrist, pinning her against the wall!
Wen Zhi staggered, nearly losing her balance, and looked up to see the man clearly.
His face was delicate and refined, bearing a slight resemblance to Mo Tingyan’s features.
However, the man before her had a somewhat “fake gentleness” in his appearance, while Mo Tingyan’s features were more defined, exuding a wild and captivating charm with every smile and frown.
They were clearly brothers, yet their auras were completely different!
Mo Tingjue stared at her, his hand gripping her arm tightly as he urgently questioned, “Wen Zhi, where were you last night? When I called you, there was a man’s voice beside you. Who is he? What did you two do?”
Wen Zhi pushed him away, raised her hand, and brushed off her arm with disgust, her gaze cold and mocking as she looked at him.
“What could a man and a woman alone together possibly do? Didn’t you and my stepsister already demonstrate that for me yesterday on the hotel bed?”
Hearing this, Mo Tingjue’s face stiffened. He took a step forward, hastily explaining, “Xiao Zhi, don’t say things in anger, okay? I know you’re not that kind of person. I was just drunk yesterday afternoon…”
Wen Zhi glanced sideways and sneered, “When a man is truly drunk, he can’t even get it up. Mo Tingjue, don’t make excuses for your promiscuity.”
After saying this, she walked past him toward the door.
But Mo Tingjue refused to let it go, stepping forward to block her path. “Xiao Zhi, I was just confused for a moment with Wen Xue. You know, the only one I love is you. My feelings for you are genuine. You… will forgive me, right?”
Wen Zhi scoffed disdainfully!
Genuine love for her, yet he couldn’t control his lower half?
This “genuine” love was probably lighter than the waste air exhaled from a dog’s mouth!
She took a step back, putting distance between herself and Mo Tingjue. “I’ve said it before—my only requirement in a relationship is loyalty. One act of betrayal, and it’s over for life. You and I are already broken up. Please don’t come looking for me again. It’s annoying.”
With that, she opened the door and entered the apartment without looking back.
Mo Tingjue watched Wen Zhi’s resolute figure, clenching his fists as he shouted at the door, “Xiao Zhi, I won’t give up on you! If I could win you over once, I can definitely do it again! I’ll use my sincerity to win you back!”
Again?
What a dreamer!
Ignoring the man’s shouting at the door, she returned to the bedroom, took down her suitcase, and began packing.
But she hadn’t been at it for long when knocking sounded at the door again.
Thinking it was Mo Tingjue still acting out, she paid no attention. Soon after, her phone rang.
The caller ID showed… her newlywed husband, Mo Tingyan, whom she had just married!
She answered, and the man’s casual voice came through the phone, “Did you go out?”
“No, I’m at home packing.””Then why didn’t you open the door?”
Wen Zhi was momentarily stunned before quickly trotting to the door and opening it.
Seeing Mo Tingyan standing outside, she was somewhat surprised. “Didn’t you go back to tidy up your room? How did you get here so quickly?”
“There wasn’t much to tidy up. I was waiting to welcome its mistress.”
Mo Tingyan raised an eyebrow with a smile and walked into the living room.
Noticing she wasn’t wearing shoes, he leaned closer to her face, his eyes filled with amusement. “You rushed to greet me without even putting on shoes? Then why didn’t you open the door when I knocked earlier?”
Wen Zhi glanced down at her fair feet and answered truthfully, “I thought it was Mo Tingjue.”
Hearing that name, the smile on Mo Tingyan’s face faded slightly.
“What, has he been here?”
Wen Zhi nodded noncommittally and continued folding her clothes.
Mo Tingyan casually sat on her bed, crossing his legs naturally. He leaned forward, gazing intently into her eyes, half-teasing, half-probing. “Chasing you all the way here—seems like he regrets it and wants to reconcile with you. What about you? Are you tempted? Or… do you regret marrying me today?”
Wen Zhi paused in her folding and looked up at him, answering frankly, “If I were still tempted by him, would I have sought you out last night?”
They were brothers, after all. From the moment she had actively embraced Mo Tingyan last night, Wen Zhi had no intention of leaving herself a way out.
“For me, a man who has cheated is like money dropped in dog shit. No matter how tempting it is, I don’t want it.”
Tempting?
Hearing those words, Mo Tingyan raised an eyebrow, his gaze fixed on her low neckline. His Adam’s apple moved involuntarily…
He leaned in, almost without warning, and kissed her lips!
After a moment of lingering and teasing, the warmth shifted to Wen Zhi’s ear. The man’s voice carried a fatal allure as he asked, “Is he more tempting, or am I more tempting, hmm?”
