4 – Cаll hеr wifе
Wеn Zhi lооkеd at the mаn bеfоrе hеr, who apреared frivоlous yеt wаs асtuаllу seriоus, аnd sighеd helрlesslу, “What’s therе tо cоmpаrе аbout suсh things?”
Isn’t it сhildish?
Mо Тingуаn’s fingеrs gеntlу brushed аcrоss hеr cheek, moving dоwnward until thеy sliрреd intо her cоllar. His еуеs, fillеd with deеp mеaning, shimmerеd undеr thе slаntеd light streаming into the roоm. “Тhеrе is. Тhe comреtitivе drive bеtweеn men—tell mе уоur аnswer.”
Wen Zhi fеlt а sudden itch in hеr heart frоm this unехрeсtеd flirtation, and an inexpliсablе wаrmth sрrеаd aсross her bodу.
She рursed hеr red liрs, then wrapped her arms around his neck the next second, taking the initiative. A faint smile curved at the corners of her lips as she said in a seductive tone, “Captain Mo, when it comes to being alluring… no one can beat you.”
He was truly a devastatingly handsome man—his looks were simply the finest of the finest.
As her words fell, his insatiable lips pressed against hers. In an instant, the world around them seemed to turn upside down…
After the intense encounter, Wen Zhi lay exhausted on the bed, the deep, steady sound of the man’s breathing filling her ears.
She suddenly thought that this kind of marriage—not for love, but for physical intimacy—was actually quite good.
When needed, they came together; when not, they went their separate ways in peace.
No jealousy, no interference, no psychological pressure, and no emotional burdens.
Wasn’t this the life she had once longed for?
Only… Wen Zhi turned her head and looked at the messy, crumpled clothes scattered all over the floor…
She had been impulsive; she should have chosen a different place.
She raised her hand, trying to push the man beside her away, and said firmly, “Move. I need to take a shower.”
Mo Tingyan’s long arm naturally wrapped around her slender waist. Though his breathing had calmed, his voice remained husky. “Together?”
“That won’t be necessary. I’m not used to it.”
Intimacy was one thing, but sharing something as private as a shower was something she couldn’t accept.
She slipped out of Mo Tingyan’s embrace, casually grabbed a piece of clothing to wrap around herself, and quickly headed into the bathroom…
Ten minutes later, after she finished showering, Mo Tingyan leisurely rose from the bed. Without bothering to put on any clothes, he strode boldly into her bathroom right in front of her!
Seeing how utterly unguarded he was around her, Wen Zhi sighed helplessly.
A man with no sense of shame—did he really think his physique was model-worthy?
Even if models couldn’t compare, he could at least show a little restraint.
Looking at the chaotic mess of clothes on the floor, Wen Zhi felt a headache coming on. She decided to stuff them all into her suitcase, zipped it shut—out of sight, out of mind—and then headed to the adjacent study to tidy up her “treasures.”
Not long after, Mo Tingyan emerged from the bathroom fully dressed. The room was empty, with only the lingering scent of their intimacy still hanging in the air…
In the adjacent study.
When Mo Tingyan entered, he saw Wen Zhi carefully placing small figurines into transparent compartments.
He approached her from behind, leaning close to her ear with a frivolous smile. “Still playing with dolls at your age? I never would have guessed you had such childlike interests.”
Hearing this, Wen Zhi glanced sideways at him and corrected him, “These are figurines. I made them myself.”
Mo Tingyan raised an eyebrow, seemingly a little surprised. After all, these little things… looked quite exquisite.
He casually picked one up and examined it closely—there wasn’t a single flaw.
It seemed she had a pair of skillful hands.
But…
Curiously, he pointed to the two letters on the base and asked, “What does ‘ZZ’ mean? Is it your stage name?”Wen Zhi stared at the two letters for a moment, lost in thought, before finally responding after a long pause, “Mm.”
Mo Tingyan chuckled with interest, “Oh? Why ZZ? Is there a story behind it?”
Wen Zhi withdrew her gaze, not bothering to hide the truth. She replied indifferently, as if answering an unimportant question, “My childhood nickname is Zhangzhu. ZZ is the abbreviation.”
Mo Tingyan’s brow lifted almost imperceptibly.
That name… he hadn’t heard it in a long time.
Sensing the man’s scrutinizing gaze, Wen Zhi turned to look at him, suspicion in her eyes. “What’s wrong?”
Mo Tingyan kept his expression neutral, merely repeating the name, “Zhangzhu… the pearl in the palm, a good name.”
Hearing this praise, Wen Zhi curled her lips meaningfully. Indeed, she had once been the pearl in the palm… but unfortunately, that was all in the past.
“I’ve packed all the important luggage. The rent still has half a month left, and I can move the rest slowly on my own. First, help me carry the suitcase in the living room downstairs. I can handle these small decorations myself.”
Mo Tingyan looked at the woman’s exquisitely beautiful profile, then leaned forward and planted a quick kiss on her lips. “As you wish.”
Wen Zhi glanced back at him, raising her hand to touch her lips. Was Mo Tingyan adapting to his role a bit… too quickly?
Ten minutes later, the two returned to their new home, just a few buildings away.
This place was much larger than Wen Zhi’s rented apartment!
Three bedrooms and two living rooms, with excellent ventilation. Two of the bedrooms were for sleeping, and one had been converted into a study. However, the entire home felt empty, with very little furniture.
Wen Zhi walked around the house. It seemed… her guess was correct. After paying the down payment for the apartment and car, Mo Tingyan didn’t have much money left, which was why he hadn’t bought much furniture.
In the spacious living room, she sat on the only piece of furniture—the sofa—and looked directly at Mo Tingyan, speaking each word clearly, “Mo Tingyan, let’s talk about married life.”
Mo Tingyan slipped one hand into his pocket and walked over to sit beside Wen Zhi.
As the sofa sank under his weight, his arm naturally wrapped around her waist. “Alright, whatever my wife says, goes.”
Wife…
He said it so smoothly, but it sounded incredibly awkward to her ears!
“First, don’t keep calling me that. I’m really not used to it.”
Mo Tingyan leaned closer to her face, a roguish smile playing in his eyes. “Then should I call you Zhangzhu, hmm?”
Wen Zhi was even less comfortable with that. After all, it had been years since she’d heard that name.
“Just call me Wen Zhi.”
“That won’t do,” Mo Tingyan immediately rejected the idea, chuckling mischievously. “If everyone calls you that, how can my way of addressing you stand out? Besides, isn’t using a childhood nickname a kind of flirtation?”
Wen Zhi frowned. “So, when you were with your previous girlfriends, did you also have this strange kind of flirtation?”
Mo Tingyan repeated her words, letting out a light laugh, his eyes filled with a teasing, frivolous glint. “Previous… girlfriends?”
