5 – Thе Рlауеr: Рhуsical, Nоt Еmоtiоnаl
Mo Tingуаn shrugged, “I cаn’t remembеr сlеаrlу. I оnly rеmеmbеr Zhangzhu in thе prеsent cоntinuоus tensе.”
Wen Zhi’s ехрressiоn dаrkenеd slightlу. Surе еnоugh… hе wаs a рlaуеr.
But that was fine. Yоu don’t lоve mе, аnd I dоn’t lоve yоu either. Тhаt wау, we сan intеract mоrе frееlу, and whеn it’s time to pаrt wауs, wе сan both be саrеfreе.
As fоr the nicknаmе…
Lеt it bе. It’s just a labеl.
“Stаrting todaу, we’re оffiсiаllу living togеthеr. Do you have any thоughts on thаt?”
“Тhоughts…” Мо Tingуan casuаlly сrossеd his legs, lеaning half his body against Wen Zhi, his eyes carrying an ambiguous glint as he spoke directly, “I like exercise, and I hope you can cooperate with me every day.”
Wen Zhi gritted her teeth, “I meant important matters in life.”
“This is the most important one. Didn’t I say it? I’m addicted to you.”
Wen Zhi didn’t want to continue discussing such suggestive topics with him. She brushed his hand away and turned to face Mo Tingyan. “This house was bought by you, and you added my name before the marriage. Consider it your betrothal gift. Now, let me show my sincerity too.”
As she spoke, she took a bank card from her bag and placed it on the coffee table.
“My current monthly salary is six thousand, plus flight time bonuses and side income from part-time jobs. Everything is in this card. Whether it’s the mortgage or living expenses, I can share them with you.”
Mo Tingyan looked at the card she placed on the table and raised an eyebrow. “Are you suggesting we go Dutch?”
“Saying ‘going Dutch’ might make it seem like I’m taking advantage of you, but this is all my current income.”
Compared to the mortgage, her money was indeed a drop in the bucket, but she didn’t want to take advantage of others, nor did she want to be a parasite in the marriage.
Living together should come with the right attitude.
Mo Tingyan examined Wen Zhi, who was right in front of him. This was the first time a woman had willingly offered him all her savings.
He took out his wallet, pulled out a card, placed it on top of Wen Zhi’s card, and then pushed both cards into her palm—
“It’s only natural for a man to provide for the family. This is my salary card. My necessary personal expenses and the mortgage will be handled through online banking. The rest is for you to manage. From now on, you’ll be in charge of the finances, okay?”
Wen Zhi was a bit surprised. They had known each other for less than twenty-four hours.
Yet not only had he married her and added her name to the property, but now he was even handing over his salary card to her?
Wen Zhi couldn’t help but wonder if Mo Tingyan had some ulterior motive for choosing her.
Seeing the hint of wariness on Wen Zhi’s face, Mo Tingyan smirked mischievously, leaning closer to interrupt her thoughts. His warm breath brushed against her face as he lazily curled his lips. “See, I’ve even handed over my salary card. So, will you fulfill the request I just made?”
Wen Zhi: “…”
He couldn’t go three sentences without bringing up bedroom matters. He really was a player who cared only about physical intimacy, not emotions!
She casually put away both cards and returned to her earlier seriousness. “For any major expenses in the future, I’ll discuss them with you. Right now… the house feels too empty. We need to buy some furniture. Do you agree?”
“Whatever you say. It’s up to you.”
As he spoke, he leaned in and kissed her lips, clearly intending to continue.
But Wen Zhi was utterly bewildered. It hadn’t even been an hour since he had just finished…
Wasn’t he tired?
She turned and stood up from his embrace, avoiding his advances.
“I’m tired.”Wen Zhi spoke as she picked up her suitcase and prepared to head to the secondary bedroom. Seeing this, Mo Tingyan stepped forward to block her path, his frown faintly revealing a hint of displeasure. “Are you trying to sleep in separate rooms?”
Wen Zhi looked up at him. Who wouldn’t want a big bed all to themselves?
“What else?”
“Of course, a married couple should sleep together.”
But Wen Zhi shook her head firmly. Sleeping in the same room would leave her with no privacy at all.
“I’m not used to sleeping with others.”
“You’ll get used to it over time.”
On this matter, Wen Zhi’s attitude remained unyielding. She said seriously, “If you can’t accept it, I’ll move back to my previous place.”
Mo Tingyan clicked his tongue. This temper was truly stubborn.
Forget it. Since she was his wife now, there was no need to rush.
And so, their AA partnership life began…
The next morning, both Wen Zhi and Mo Tingyan had flight duties, with their flights scheduled half an hour apart.
After breakfast, Wen Zhi changed into her uniform and came out to find Mo Tingyan waiting for her.
She pulled her suitcase over and said, “Let’s go.”
Mo Tingyan looked at her, a flicker of deep understanding passing through his eyes. Wen Zhi in her flight attendant uniform was indeed both pure and alluring. With looks and a figure like hers, regardless of gender, people couldn’t help but take a second glance.
Seeing him standing still, his probing gaze sweeping over her from head to toe, Wen Zhi asked in confusion, “What?”
Mo Tingyan gave a carefree smile and admitted frankly, “Nothing. I just think my Zhangzhu is really… tempting.”
Wen Zhi replied, “Hurry up. If we’re late, it’s on you.”
When they arrived at the airport parking lot, Wen Zhi reminded him in advance, “I’ll go first. You come out later, or it won’t look good if someone sees us.”
With that, she got out of the car, dragging her suitcase behind her.
But she had only taken a few steps when the sound of clicking high heels and a familiar call came from behind—
“Wen Zhi!”
Hearing the voice, Wen Zhi instinctively frowned… It was her colleague Yan Duo.
True to her name, she not only loved gossip but also couldn’t keep things to herself.
With so many cars around, Yan Duo probably… hadn’t seen her getting out of Mo Tingyan’s car, right?
She turned around and saw Yan Duo nodding to Mo Tingyan in the distance, greeting him with, “Good morning, Captain Mo!”
Mo Tingyan simply raised his chin in response.
Yan Duo then jogged over to Wen Zhi, pressing her shoulder close as her bright, intense gaze fixed on Wen Zhi. Her voice was filled with shock. “I saw it all—you just got out of Captain Mo’s car! Don’t tell me you two are…”
