Sheng Yuyue had been run off her feet all day.
She had to prepare materials for tomorrow’s meeting with the Kaiser Group, and Fu Yunting seemed to be deliberately toying with her—one moment asking her to make him coffee, the next sending her to Ruyi Zhai to buy his lunch, and finally even making her go to the supermarket to buy condoms.
Sheng Yuyue cursed inwardly while resignedly running errands for Fu Yunting.
After all, she had only herself to blame. Instead of living the good life as the eldest daughter of the Sheng family and managing the Sheng Corporation, she had insisted on coming to Huan Yu International to be Fu Yunting’s secretary, even vowing to win over her insufferably arrogant husband in her capacity as his secretary.
She had successfully slept with Fu Yunting yesterday, and by her original plan, she should have made a graceful exit by now. But last night, she had revised her battle strategy.
Wasn’t the cruelest revenge to make that insufferably arrogant Fu Yunting fall in love with her, only to dump him mercilessly afterward?
The greatest humiliation she had ever suffered was probably having her groom fail to show up on their wedding day.
Even three months into the marriage, her new husband hadn’t returned home even once.
Sheng Yuyue was not someone to be pushed around, but she knew how to bide her time. Swallowing her fury, she had successfully disguised her identity and appearance, infiltrated Huan Yu International, and even become Fu Yunting’s secretary.
She entered the CEO’s office carrying two portions of lunch in one hand and a large bag of “little umbrellas” in the other.
Fu Yunting looked at the woman before him. Beads of sweat had formed on her forehead from the heat, and her chest rose and fell with her labored breathing.
His eyes darkened like a deep pool, and heat began to surge in his chest as he watched Sheng Yuyue’s sweat trickle down her neck and into the valley between her breasts.
His Adam’s apple bobbed twice. He closed his eyes and drew in a quiet breath, trying to suppress the restlessness stirring in his body.
This was ridiculous. He had never been particularly interested in matters between men and women, but yesterday’s curiosity seemed to have opened the door to a whole new world.
Even so, he had no intention of developing any other kind of relationship with his secretary.
Especially when he still didn’t know what Sheng Yuyue’s true motives were.
A new secretary who had only been with the company for three months, daring to ignore all the rumors about him and take the initiative to flirt with him—he wouldn’t believe for a second that she had no agenda.
Having her buy the condoms was just a test to see how she would react.
But the woman played her part so well, like a truly dedicated secretary, enduring all his unreasonable demands without complaint. Even when she placed the entire bag of condoms on his desk, she maintained a perfectly professional demeanor.
He was beginning to wonder if the seductive, alluring woman in his office yesterday had even been her at all.
After setting everything down, Sheng Yuyue spoke.
“President Fu, if there’s nothing else, I’ll head out now.”
Then she swayed her slender waist as she left, her wavy hair cascading down her back and bouncing with each step.
Every movement seemed deliberate to Fu Yunting’s eyes.
He took a deep breath and tossed the entire bag of condoms into his drawer.
Rubbing his brow, he leaned back fully into his chair, then swiveled around to face the floor-to-ceiling window.
He gazed at the sky that seemed so close outside the window and took another deep breath, desperately trying to calm the stirring below his waist.
Damn it, I should have come a few more times yesterday. Then I wouldn’t be left with such an unsatisfied craving right now.
