Wen Zhi pressed the voice message button, sounding defiant: “I want to eat that tonight too!!”

A moment after sending it, Wen Zhi received a transfer from her mother: 5000.

Hmm, Ms. Fang was indeed generous. A crab meal worth five thousand.

Wen Zhi accepted the money without hesitation.

Zhi Ya Zhi: [Thanks, Mommy! Love you muamuamua~]

Wen Zhi’s family was well-off; otherwise, an ordinary household couldn’t sustain over a decade of dance training expenses, let alone afford private coaching from renowned instructors.

Wen’s father now ran a listed company. Though it couldn’t compare to the Su family’s Jingsheng Group, it still held a notable reputation in Haishi.

Just then, Li Yue walked into the backstage area. Amid the bustling crowd, she spotted Wen Zhi at a glance.

Her jet-black long hair was elegantly styled into a graceful bun, with a few strands gently framing her forehead, adding a touch of softness and allure.

Her makeup was subtle and natural, accentuating her facial features without being overly heavy, making her appear even more fresh and refined.

“Zhi Zhi!”

Wen Zhi turned around and smiled upon seeing her.

“What brings you here?” Her voice was gentle and soft.

Li Yue hurried over and handed her a bottle of yogurt, saying, “I brought you something to eat. Have a little something to tide you over. I was worried you’d get so hungry you’d start hallucinating.”

After spending these days together, everyone in the dorm had noticed that Wen Zhi was quite the foodie. They also knew she often had to stay on an empty stomach before performances, so they were concerned she might not hold up well.

Hearing this warmed Wen Zhi’s heart. Though she was already accustomed to this routine, it still made her happy to know someone cared enough to remember.

“Wuwuwu, you guys are the best!”

“After the performance, I’ll treat you all to a big meal!” Wen Zhi promised earnestly.

Little did she know, this time she would truly have to break her promise.

As the excitement gradually built, it was finally time for the Dance Academy’s performance.

Following the host’s enthusiastic announcement: “Next, please enjoy a feast for the eyes and ears—a dance performance by the freshmen of our university’s Dance Department!”

The atmosphere in the venue instantly ignited, with the audience’s anticipation reaching its peak.

The men in the audience were all cheering excitedly, as if pumped with adrenaline. The Dance Academy was famously a gathering place for beauties.

The stage lights gradually brightened, a spotlight shining on the center of the stage. Under the spotlight, a slender figure slowly emerged, followed gracefully by over a dozen dancers. When the audience clearly saw the lead dancer’s face, the venue erupted in gasps and applause.

It was Wen Zhi!

Below the stage, Wen Zhi’s roommates were so excited they were practically dancing. They clutched their phones, constantly adjusting angles, eager to capture the moment for their Zhi Zhi.

The stage decorations were extravagantly luxurious. Towering deep-red curtains stood like solemn prologues, awaiting the unfolding spectacle.

Dazzling lights flickered across the stage like scattered stars, brilliant and captivating. In the audience, thousands of eyes were fixed on this small stage, eagerly anticipating the dancers’ stunning performance.

As the soft music began, the dancers took their first light steps. Their toes leaped gracefully across the stage, as if dancing in harmony with the music.

However, this was only a momentary adjustment; they quickly regained their composure and threw themselves wholeheartedly into the dance feast.

At the same time, outside the auditorium, a dazzling red Maserati came to a stop.

Su Wenjing stepped out of the car unhurriedly, dressed in a tailored black suit that was sharp and elegant. His tie was loosely knotted around his neck, giving him an air of both sophistication and charm.

It seemed as though he had rushed over from somewhere.

Song Bojian, who emerged from the passenger seat, couldn’t help but tease his friend at the sight of his flashy appearance. “Seriously, dude, not only are you coming to the school, but you also drive such an eye-catching car? When are you going to tone down that showy personality of yours?”

Anyone who didn’t know better might think he was here to cause trouble.

Su Wenjing let out a light scoff and tossed the car keys at him, wearing an annoyingly smug expression. “Can’t help it. I’d like to keep a low profile, but my status just won’t allow it.”

With that, he headed toward the auditorium.

“Damn, does Aunt Wang know you act like this?”

Song Bojian caught the keys deftly and hurried after him. “I mean, why are you suddenly interested in attending the school anniversary celebration this time? You’ve been invited so many times before, but you never bothered to show up.”

“Old Man Chen personally invited me. How could I not give him some face?” Su Wenjing replied lazily.

Hearing this, Song Bojian glanced at him as if seeing him for the first time, hinting meaningfully, “You’re really something, so respectful to your teachers.”

In a corner of the VIP section, Su Wenjing entered, casually chatting with his friend. His appearance immediately drew the attention of those around him.

Nearby leaders stepped forward one after another to greet Su Wenjing, showering him with flattering remarks. He merely responded with a nod and a faint smile. After taking his seat, he gestured toward the stage with his slender, well-defined fingers.

Those around him were sharp enough to understand his meaning. After exchanging subtle glances, they quietly returned to their seats.

At this thrilling moment, a small stir suddenly arose in one corner of the VIP section.

It turned out that Su Wenjing had made a grand entrance, taking a seat at the very front of the VIP area. His presence was like a stone dropped into a lake, instantly sending ripples through the crowd.

The female students seated behind him, who had been intently watching the performance, felt their hearts skip a beat the moment their eyes inadvertently caught sight of Su Wenjing.

Some covered their mouths in hushed excitement, others blushed faintly, while still others sparkled with exhilaration.

They quickly pulled out their phones, carefully adjusting angles to capture this rare sight.

After all, since graduating three years ago, he had rarely been seen at Haida University.

Some students never even caught a glimpse of him throughout their entire four years of college!

But they dared not make their actions too obvious, afraid of disturbing him, and could only sneak quick, discreet photos.

The back rows of the VIP section seemed to transform into a bustling photography zone, with every girl turning into a stealthy paparazzo.

Su Wenjing’s gaze inadvertently drifted away from the busy social scene and settled on the graceful figure on stage.

Wen Zhi’s dancing form, poetic and picturesque, unexpectedly entered his line of sight, carrying an indescribable depth and composure.

Beside him, Song Bojian noticed Su Wenjing’s unusual behavior and curiously leaned in to whisper by his ear, “What, do you know the beauty on stage? I didn’t know you were interested in classical dance.”

Su Wenjing smiled faintly but did not respond directly. Instead, his gaze seemed magnetically drawn, firmly fixed on Wen Zhi.

As Wen Zhi spun, she inadvertently glanced toward the audience, her eyes coincidentally meeting Su Wenjing’s.

In that moment, she seemed to catch a unique glimmer in his eyes—was it admiration, or something else?

The soft lights of the auditorium fell upon Su Wenjing, illuminating his handsome features and upright posture.

Though surrounded by a group of distinguished and prominent leaders, his gaze appeared so distinct, as if detached from worldly concerns, focused solely on the graceful figure on stage.

A slight stir arose in Wen Zhi’s heart. To her surprise, his gaze seemed to have been following her all along?

But the situation did not allow her to be distracted, so she took a deep breath and continued dancing in rhythm with the music.

As the music’s tempo quickened, their dance reached its climax. Their movements grew more unrestrained, as if pouring out all their emotions. Cheers from the audience rose and fell, encouraging her performance.

Finally, the music gradually faded, and the dance came to an end. The entire dance department bowed gracefully before stepping off the stage.

However, when Wen Zhi looked up, she met Su Wenjing’s peach blossom eyes, which seemed to carry a faint hint of a smile.

If she wasn’t mistaken, he even raised an eyebrow at her??!

Startled, Wen Zhi quickened her steps as she descended from the stage, as if trying to avoid something.
