Su Li glanced at Wei Chengfeng and said, “I have no idea what this marriage means to you, but you have to wear the engagement ring all the time.
If you trust my taste, then let me pick it.
If you don’t, then pick it yourself.”
Wei Chengfeng did not even lift his eyelids as he replied, “You decide for yourself.”
Su Li looked at him and then shrugged indifferently, but deep down she felt genuinely upset.
Pushing a cart full of big and small bags back home, she arrived at the door just in time to bump into He Yinru and her daughter returning from shopping.
The driver carried more than a dozen large and small bags.
Su Qin, seeing the bag in her hand, asked, “Wow, looks like you’ve made quite the haul today.
Were these gifts or did you buy them yourself?”
Su Li raised the bag in her hand and, with a brilliantly bright smile, said, “They were gifts from him.”
As everyone entered the house, Su Qin tossed her bags onto the sofa and said, “Let’s see what great things President Wei has given you.”
“Nothing much, just some ordinary trinkets.”
“What, afraid of showing us?
With Wei Chengfeng being so rich, whatever he gives wouldn’t be something you couldn’t show off.
Open it up and let’s see.
You’re treating it like a precious treasure.”
Su Li slightly raised an eyebrow, reluctantly sat down, and took out various small boxes from the bag, opening them one by one.
Gazing at the shiny, extremely expensive jewelry, He Yinru and her daughter were astounded.
Su Qin said with a sour face, “No wonder you kept them so well-hidden.
It seems He Chengfeng is indeed generous.”
Su Li collected the items back, saying, “I was actually going to look at rings today, but he picked out so many other things for me.
I didn’t want to take them, but he said they would come in handy later, so I had no choice but to accept.”
After finishing, she looked at Su Qin’s face and smiled again, “Take a look and see if there’s anything you like.
If there is, feel free to take it.”
Su Qin’s face darkened as if it could drip water, and spitefully said, “Those were given to you by someone else.
It’s not appropriate for you to give them away, is it?”
“What’s wrong with that?
He’s not such a petty person.”
“I don’t want any.
I can buy whatever I like myself.
I’m tired, I’m going upstairs to rest.”
Watching Su Qin storm off, Su Li felt a surge of satisfaction.
She wasn’t the type to seek trouble for no reason, but if someone insisted on giving her a hard time, she wouldn’t just dumbly tolerate it.
Climbing the stairs with her things, Su Li had just entered her room when she received a call from Xu Anran.
“Hey grand lady, where have you been?
I’ve been calling you forever, and only now you answer?”
“Oh, I was outside just now and didn’t hear it.
What’s up?”
Xu Anran was her close buddy from university and now also happens to be Lu Wei’s agent.
“Lu Wei has a fan meet-and-greet in Beijing in a few days.
Are you coming?”
“Of course, I’m coming, make sure to save a ticket for me,” Su Li said, her teen girl’s heart fluttering at the mention of Lu Wei.
“You can just come with me, what do you need a ticket for?
Oh, and how’s your script coming along?
When choosing the male lead, remember to recommend Lu Wei.”
Lying on her bed and grinning from ear to ear, Su Li said, “Don’t worry about that.
The male lead in my script is tailor-made for Lu Wei.
No one else could embody that kind of temperament.”
“That’s my girl, next time I’ll have Lu Wei take you out for a meal.”
“Alright.” But before Su Li could fully revel in her joy, a thought struck her, and her laughter halted.
“Anran, I’m getting married.”
