“So you have to make all your stats higher before leveling up?” Silver asked while pretending to not know anything.
Min-maxing is my thing.
So I will definitely push all my stats to the limit before leveling up; otherwise, I would rather not level up,’ he thought in his heart with determination.
‘Besides, I still have a lot of time.
I got information about the Zeus and Hera familia, and confirmed that they are still in Orario right now.’
“Not just raise every stat!” The old mathron said loudly with a bit of obsession.
“If you can, you should take your time and bring every stat to the limit!”
“Yes, Ma’am!” Silver responded with a startle from the shout while also subconsciously straightening himself.
“Good!” The matron nodded with satisfaction upon hearing his positive response.
“Hmmm… Right, let’s get back to it. So, I made this training method for rookies. We shall start with the basics! The proper posture for slashing and stabbing. Watch me do it, then you try it after.”
She showed how to slash first, the simple, straightforward front swing slash of a sword.
Then Silver tried it, which felt a bit awkward.
“It is fine to feel awkward because you are just starting out right now,” the matron explained as she saw his awkward expression.
“Just do it a few more times until you get used to it.”
“Yes, Ma’am!” Silver responded with energy and continued as he was corrected bit by bit by the matron as he swung the stick.
“Thankfully, you picked the sword; otherwise, I would only be able to teach you the very basics. Although I am not a master of the sword, it is at least better than just the bare basics,” the matron commented as she seriously taught him and corrected his posture.
A few minutes later…
“Haah!” Silver shouted to get more strength out of his body as he swung the stick.
“Alright, that is enough for slashing right now. Let us get to stabbing properly,” the old matron said casually as she got ready to demonstrate.
“Yes!” Silver answered with energy as he stopped and moved to the side to watch the matron.
“You do it,” she said after stopping and letting out a breath.
“Go on.”
Silver did not bother making a sound; instead, he got into position and tried getting into the stance, which is a sideways horse stance with two hands on the stick.
He held it the same way he was taught when slashing.
He also did it slowly at first and then increased the speed slightly as he repeated.
The matron is on the side, correcting him with words and by poking him with her stick.
After a few minutes…
“That’s it!” the matron said suddenly as she examined silver with strict eyes.
“You stop for now to rest, then you go back to slashing.”
“Understood!” Silver responded with energy, but in his heart he was thinking.
‘What about body training?
‘
The matron nodded with a smile of satisfaction because Silver is very obedient and follows instructions without complaint, unlike a normal child.
Which made her wonder why she had not paid attention to such a mature and sensible child before?
“You rest here. I will go get some water to drink. Remember to always bring water when you practice. I won’t always be there when you do it,” she said as she walked away.
“I will, Mother Mathron!” Silver shouted as the Mathron walked very fast.
‘So…
Should I ask about the body training or not?
He thought hard.
‘I should just ask!
Let’s just do it! Enjoying the story? Read on at g.com.
No point dilly-dallying about it!
Such a simple matter should just be asked!
You can’t be an indecisive person like in your previous life!
When it’s time to do things, you should just do it!
‘
The matron returned with a glass pitcher filled with drinking water in one hand and two stacked cup glasses in the other.
“Here you go. Drink some water,” she said as she held out a glass and filled it with water.
The glass technology came from the gods too, by the way.
“Thanks,” Silver said politely as he took the glass and emptied it in one go, then swiped a bit of sweat that was sliding on his forehead with a backhand before he awkwardly asked, “So… What about the body training, Mother Mathron?”
“You want to use your fists and feet as a means too?” The matron responded back with a question, looking puzzled as she did.
“You should know that as a human, your body is not as good as a weapon in hand. You are not a beastman after all.”
“No, that’s not what I mean. I just thought I should also train my body to strengthen it,” Silver said with a confused look on his face.
“Oh! So that’s what you mean!” the matron exclaimed a bit as she finally got what he meant.
“You actually don’t need to do that. As long as you stay healthy, that should be enough. Remember the falna? That is what will make up for everything for you. Only after getting one will training count and be very effective.”
“But I remember the description of Falna is that everyone starts at 0 stats in everything and that the increase in stats will be based on what you have before you get one,” Silver said with a frown.
“Did I remember correctly?”
“You are right, yes. You remembered it correctly. Hmmm…” The old matron said with a confused look before she brightened up in shock as she seemingly thought of something.
“Wait! You mean… This description of the falna is something the gods always say when they explain what the falna is, so this should be the truth! In that case! You mean that by training before getting falna, you will have an advantage from non-displayed stats that you already have! I don’t know the exact benefits someone will have by doing this, but it will definitely be all benefits and no drawbacks!”
