A new chapter is up.
Come in, get comfortable, and let’s see what kind of trouble waits this time ❤️ ✦ Daylight filled a modern city of concrete and glass.
Inside one apartment building, there was an ordinary room.
It was not especially clean, only plain and somewhat colorless, the room of a normal person living alone.
But compared with the past, when Nolan had lived here by himself, the instant a beautiful young goddess landed in the room, the cold space seemed to warm all at once.
There was one person in the room.
And one god.
“So this is Nolan’s home?” After landing, Hestia immediately began studying the layout.
The most obvious thing in the room was the desk.
On it sat a neat black box, with something like a screen placed nearby.
There was a chair that looked comfortable, a simple wooden wardrobe, and above the desk hung a white device marked with something like a snowflake symbol.
Most importantly, there was a bed.
A cool mat was spread over it, and the mattress was quite large.
“A double bed.” Hestia’s eyes seemed to flash as she began scanning the bed like a searchlight.
When she found nothing on it except a few stray strands of Nolan’s hair, her satisfaction rose sharply.
‘Oh-ho.
So he is single.’ Hestia was extremely pleased.
Her child really was single.
Being single was good.
“So this is Nolan’s room?” Hestia hopped down from Nolan and examined the room carefully.
Through the window, even from this tiny glimpse, she could see the prosperity of the world outside.
This world truly was flourishing.
Then she jumped onto Nolan’s bed.
The moment she lay on the mattress, her whole body felt as if it were floating.
Compared with the plank bed she had slept on at Hephaestus’s place, this mattress was far too comfortable.
But when she looked back at Nolan, she noticed that his hands were moving awkwardly, as if he did not know where to put them.
“Oh?” Hestia raised an eyebrow.
She had noticed.
Nolan seemed uncomfortable because she was in his room.
She was not a goddess who failed to understand these things.
A flash of insight crossed her mind.
Hestia realized that Nolan was flustered because she had entered his room as a woman.
And more importantly…
‘A woman.
Heh.
Nolan is treating me as a woman.’ Hestia understood his attitude now.
He was not only treating her as a goddess.
In that case, there was hope.
The truth was that Nolan would not have been embarrassed if she were only a woman.
But the person before him was a god.
A goddess.
A being with absolute control over her own power.
With that kind of perception, she might notice countless tiny things.
That was what made Nolan awkward.
He could not hide anything from her.
“Hestia, in this world, are your powers fully available?” Nolan thought about whether Hestia was sealed here as well, or whether she could act at full strength.
“Of course they are fully available.” Hestia answered honestly.
This was another world.
There was no divine agreement here.
That agreement was something gods had established among themselves, and it belonged only to the DanMachi world they had come from.
Nolan had no idea how strong a god with full access to divine power truly was.
At minimum, destroying a nation would not be difficult.
“Do not worry.
I will not do anything bad.” “By the way, Nolan, do you have anything to eat?” Hestia rubbed her stomach.
She was hungry.
Her divine power was available, but because of the contract, when she was beside Nolan she still showed the side of a patron goddess accompanying her child.
“Food?” “What do you want to eat?” Since they were going to eat, Nolan opened his bedroom door and walked toward the living room.
Hestia followed behind him.
She noticed that the living room had a proper, warm arrangement.
Her gaze swept over the room and stopped beside a large device, where two framed memorial photos with name plates had been placed.
“What are those?” Hestia pointed to them.
“Those are memorials for my parents.” Nolan did not become agitated when he mentioned his parents’ deaths.
In a sense, they had died from overwork.
This home was the property they had left him, one of the few things he had to remember them by.
Nolan walked to the refrigerator in the living room.
He opened it, revealing drinks and snacks inside.
“Oh.” Hestia learned that the memorials were for Nolan’s parents and walked over to look at them seriously.
His parents’ names were written there.
Father: Thomas Ward.
Mother: Helen Ward.
“Hello.” Hestia did not bow or perform a formal rite.
She simply lifted a hand and greeted them.
“Nolan’s parents must have been gentle people.” The home, the way things were arranged, and Nolan himself all gave the impression of a normal, peaceful family.
“I suppose so.” Nolan thought for a moment and answered quietly.
Standing by the refrigerator, he took out his private stock.
“I do not have an actual meal ready right now.
I will order delivery for you in a minute.” “Have something to drink first.” “Milk, cola, or juice?” Nolan displayed several bottles.
The moment Hestia heard there was something to drink, she chose.
“Cola.” “I want to try that.” She had drunk juice before.
She had also drunk milk in Orario.
But what was cola?
If her child kept it in something like an ice storage box, then it had to be delicious.
“All right.” Nolan took a small bottle of cola, twisted off the cap, and handed it to Hestia.
She accepted it and drank at once.
“Wow.
That is refreshing!” This was Hestia’s first time drinking something as novel as cola.
One sip, and the sugar hit instantly.
She had never drunk anything this exciting.
This world’s things really were interesting.
Then she noticed Nolan holding a small rectangular device and tapping it over and over.
“What is that?” Hestia asked curiously.
Why did Nolan seem to enjoy tapping that thing so much?
“This?
A phone.” “I can order food delivery on it.
Delivery means someone brings the food here for you.” Nolan shook the phone lightly in his hand.
“It is that convenient?” Hestia naturally understood what Nolan meant.
She could not help sighing.
This world was far too convenient.
If she lived here, she might become completely useless in less than a day.
Hestia felt herself taking another tiny step toward becoming a ruined goddess.
