A new chapter is up.

Come in, get comfortable, and let’s see what kind of trouble waits this time ❤️ ✦ The moment Nolan stepped onto the first floor, he saw the Dungeon’s vastness for the first time.

It was like an enormous corridor system.Full novel: Danmachi: Gatebound — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Simply walking through these passages would take a fair amount of time.

After stepping onto the first floor, Nolan stopped.

“My name is Nolan Ward.

What is yours?” He introduced himself first.

“Mr.

Ward, my name is Tali.” When Tali heard Nolan give his name, she hurriedly introduced herself as well.

Nolan nodded.

Their conversation ended there.

“From now on, your job is to collect more than magic stones.

There are a few extra things I need you to pick up.” Nolan explained the work.

“Your pay is a sixty-forty split.” “I take sixty.

You take forty.” The work and payment were both stated clearly.

“Mm.” Tali nodded as if she believed him.

She did not know what to say.

A sixty-forty split had startled her badly.

Naturally, she did not believe it.

After all, anyone who understood Orario knew what adventurers were like.

The two of them went deeper and soon received the Dungeon’s welcome ceremony.

A red-eyed, merciless monster unique to the Dungeon.

Because this was the first floor, the monster was not especially strong.

It was small, lean, and built like a feral hound.

“Mr.

Ward, that is one of the first floor’s monsters.

A kobold.” “It may be small, but kobolds are extremely aggressive.” “People who are not adventurers cannot fight them head-on.

Even ordinary adults need four or five people, and they may still have to sacrifice two or three before killing one.” Tali explained.

The moment her explanation ended, the kobold bared its teeth and charged toward Nolan and Tali.

It moved like an undead thing, desperate to tear apart the two intruders in front of it.

But.

“First fight.” A refined steel dagger appeared in Nolan’s hand.

“Handgun.” As he swung the dagger, a handgun floated in the space over his right shoulder.

The handgun fired.

“Shoot.” With a bang, the bullet struck the kobold’s body with precision.

It did not kill it instantly with a headshot.

The kobold took the hit, but instead of going down, its ferocity surged.

It wanted to bite Nolan to death.

“These Dungeon monsters are almost numb to pain.

That should have hurt, but one shot did not seem to register.” “Fine.

One handgun cannot punch through this kobold.” “Then we rotate fire.” “Fire.” Nolan raised his hand and waved again.

This time, five handguns floated behind him at once.

Another burst of gunfire rang out.

The charging kobold collapsed at Nolan’s feet.

After it died, its body turned to ash and vanished, leaving behind a magic stone.

Beside the stone were the copper-jacketed bullet slugs that had entered its body.

“So the bullets do not disappear.

Most likely, when these monsters die and their bodies vanish, the magic stone remains, and the bullets are left behind too.” Nolan studied the result.

“Tali, get to work.

Use this.

Pick up the magic stone, and put the small objects left beside it into this bag.” Nolan tossed Tali a cloth bag meant specifically for her.

Tali stared at the scene in shock.

One moment, she had thought he was a beginner relying on strange weapons from who knew where.

The next, he had instantly killed a first-floor monster.

“Yes.” Tali felt as if the whole thing was almost magical.

What had just happened?

Something had appeared beside Nolan, made a sharp noise, and killed that monster directly.

She did not know what kind of divine tool it was, but she did know her work had started.

Tali walked over and began collecting the items.

Nolan watched her move, but he did not follow.

Instead, he checked his own equipment.

“The computer cannot communicate with Orario from here?” “This area should still be near the city.

There should be some signal.

Why is there none at all?” “Looks like the surroundings have a strong biological field that disrupts transmissions.” After entering, Nolan checked the watch on his wrist for the first time.

The watch monitored his heart rate and signal reception.

Although the signal had been blocked, its internal functions still operated.

“Fine.

We continue the investigation.” Nolan took a small camera from Spatial Storage and, following the instructions, turned on the recording function.

“Internal signal is good.

Image quality is good.

No abnormal interference.

The picture is clear.” “Everything is ready.” Nolan put on the helmet.

Then he changed into another set of equipment.

After Tali finished collecting the items separately, she noticed Nolan’s current gear.

He wore a large green steel helmet that looked sturdy, and he adjusted its position carefully.

“Mr.

Ward, I have collected everything.” Tali did not understand these things, but she chose not to ask.

This beginner was too strange.

“Mm.” Nolan did not inspect it.

He put all the recovered bullet slugs into the faintly visible Spatial Storage.

Only when Tali saw it up close did she realize that Nolan possessed something similar to Spatial Storage, an ability considered extremely rare even among Supporters.

“Um, is that the legendary Spatial Storage?” “The rumored skill that lets someone conveniently carry items inside it?” Tali had been wondering where Nolan’s weapons were firing from.

Now that she had seen it personally, she realized the weapons were operating from inside Spatial Storage.

They appeared in angles she could not properly see and fired from there.

“Something like that.” Nolan nodded and did not deny it.

After all, he was registered as a Supporter, not an adventurer.

Spatial Storage had already been recorded at the Guild.

His abilities were clear enough.

“Amazing.” This was the first time Tali had encountered a beginner with an ability like this.

A beginner with that much power was terrifying.

But it also made Tali feel uncertain for the first time.

If this beginner had such a convenient ability, why did he still want to hire her?

With something that useful, he could hunt monsters alone, recover the magic stones, sell them, and earn a high income by himself.

Why did he need a Supporter like her?

Tali did not understand.

But she had seen all kinds of adventurer malice, and that made her want to ask the question directly.

“Mr.

Ward, why did you choose me?”
