“Hahaha!” The demon laughed smugly.
Now emboldened by its hostage position, it dared to be arrogant in front of Shin again.
“Look at what I have here!
If you don’t want them to die, hand over your sword!” the demon commanded Shin.
In its eyes, the only real threat was the Demon Slayer Sword.
It believed that once Shin lost the sword, he would be nothing more than food to be slaughtered!
If Shin disobeyed, it would naturally devour the brother and sister to become stronger, and then kill Shin.
Of course, this was all just the demon’s speculation.
In reality, Shin didn’t take the demon’s threat seriously at all.
First: Even if the demon ate Tanjiro, it wouldn’t affect him.
Second: Nezuko was also a demon, so there was no need to fear that this kind of wild demon could easily kill her.
Third: As a demon, Nezuko’s fighting power was not to be underestimated, even though she had never eaten a human.
“Using them to threaten me is the most foolish thing you can do,” Shin said calmly.
Before Shin finished speaking, Nezuko suddenly attacked, kicking the demon’s head off mid-air.
“How is this possible!
This girl is a demon!
Why is she mixed up with humans?!”
“Water Breathing!”
Just as Nezuko kicked, Shin used the Water Breathing technique he had obtained as a mission reward.
In the blink of an eye, Shin was in front of the headless demon body.
He slashed at the demon’s hand that was gripping Tanjiro’s arm with his Demon Slayer Sword.
Tanjiro, along with the severed demon hand, fell to the ground.
Rescued, Tanjiro ripped the demon’s hand off and said to Shin, “Thank you, Senior!”
Shin ignored Tanjiro’s gratitude and instead said, “You’re in charge of dealing with the demon’s head that was kicked off.
Consider it a trial!
Don’t let it escape!
Otherwise, more people will get hurt, just like your family!”
Tanjiro was taken aback.
He hadn’t expected Shin to send him to fight a demon, but Shin’s later words truly resonated with him.
“Senior, what about you?” Tanjiro asked curiously before setting out.
“Of course, I’ll deal with this demon’s body and protect your sister as well,” Shin replied.
Tanjiro quickly understood.
Shin alone couldn’t handle the demon’s severed head and body at the same time.
Relying on Shin alone, he might very well let a part of it escape.
Demons have incredibly strong regenerative abilities.
As long as they aren’t completely killed, even if only a small part of their body remains, they can regenerate.
“I understand!” Tanjiro asked no more questions, picked up his axe, which he had used for many years, and went to deal with the demon’s head.
Shin once again used Water Breathing, slashing the headless demon more than a dozen times.
Shin’s attacks were not very powerful.
The blade only left wounds of varying depths on the demon’s body, without disintegrating it.
After all, this demonic body wasn’t the demon’s main body.
Disintegrating it would only increase the number of demonic clones, increasing the demon’s chances of escaping.
The reason Shin didn’t directly kill the demon’s main body was because of Tanjiro.
After all, Tanjiro was the protagonist of this world, and this was something he was meant to experience.
If Shin did everything for Tanjiro, it would trigger a butterfly effect, leading to unpredictable and serious consequences.
Therefore, Shin knew his existence could only serve as a guide, not a leader.
