At last, Zhuzhu arrived at the room where the girl was being treated.
She did not even know the name of the person who had saved her life.
A nurse was checking the IV drip; the girl was still sleeping peacefully after her wound had been treated.
The nurse closed her notebook and turned toward Zhuzhu.
“Miss, we have examined the patient and the IV has been set up.
If anything happens, please just call for us.
Excuse me, Miss.” “Thank you, Nurse,” Zhuzhu replied softly.
After the nurse left the room, Zhuzhu walked over to the bed.
She gazed intently at the girl’s face, and her heart felt strangely close to her.
She felt as though she had seen this face before — not just during the incident by the taxi earlier.
Somehow, there seemed to be an unexplainable bond between them.
Before she could finish her thoughts, her phone vibrated.
A work message came in.
Zhuzhu decided to stay here and keep watch over the girl, then immediately called Xiaoqi.
“Hello… Zhu?
Why aren’t you asleep yet?” “Xiaoqi, please help me.
Please hand the report on my desk to the manager — however you can.” “Huh?
Why don’t you deliver it yourself tomorrow?” Xiaoqi asked, confused.
“Tomorrow I’m taking a day off.
Please tell the Manager for me.” “Are you sick, Zhu?” Xiaoqi’s tone turned worried at once.
Zhuzhu fell silent for a moment.
“I’m at the hospital… but I’m perfectly fine, Qi.” “WHAT?!” Xiaoqi exclaimed, shocked.
“What happened to you?!
Why are you at the hospital if you say you’re fine?!
Explain this to me, Zhu!” “Very well… I’ll explain later.
I’m sending you the location now.
Please drive carefully,” Zhuzhu ended the call, then sat back down beside the bed, looking at the mysterious girl with eyes full of gratitude.
