Avur and Daxxel both entered the inn.

The innkeeper asked Avur for two silver coins for the night.

Fortunately, Avur still had some silver coins left over from the Adventurers’ Guild; Apparently, Bironica hadn’t taken everything from him.Full novel: Die;REPEAT – Trapped in a World Where I Don’t Belong — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

He pays the innkeeper, goes upstairs to inspect his room for the night, and lies down on the bed, exhausted and tired.

“You really do look interesting, Avur.

Were you perhaps born with this unique appearance?” Daxxel said to him, leaning on the doorframe and waiting for Avur’s answer.

Avur carefully considered how much he should reveal.

“Well, I was originally born with yellow eyes and black hair.

I…

I’ve suffered a lot, so my white hair comes from stress and all that.” Avur closed his eyes.

He didn’t want Daxxel to think he was crazy.

That’s why he didn’t want to see Daxxel’s reaction and thought Daxxel might be afraid of him.

Those who have suffered greatly always have a reason for their suffering.

Daxxel might therefore think that he suffered because of a bad deed he committed.

Instead of thinking he was crazy, Daxxel patted him on the shoulder: “It’s okay, man.

I’m going to Roswall Academy.

Maybe you can make it there too if I put in a good word for you with the headmaster.

Maybe he’ll consider it.”

“Dax…” Avur couldn’t put into words how grateful he was.

Daxxel was, after all, his very first friend and the best he had ever had.

Daxxel knew how much he appreciated his help.

His demonic magic could sense a person’s true intentions and discern whether they were telling the truth or what they were feeling.

That’s why he knew almost everything.

He knew that Avur had been abused for a year.

But he didn’t know that he came from another world.

He knew that Avur had killed people, but he also knew that it was because of his own suffering.

Daxxel covered Avur with the blanket and turned off the light.

“Now rest, my friend.

The innkeeper can use telepathic magic, so you can go to him if you need me.”

“Good night, Dax, thank you for everything you have done for me.” Avur said, half asleep.

Daxxel went home.

He has a little sister named Abby, who is also a demon, with dark tanned skin, violet eyes, and silver hair.

She is quite emotional, but just as kind as her brother Daxxel.

Their parents are also demons and lead normal lives in Quelixa.

They came here because they were terrorized because of their race.

Quelixa is a beautiful kingdom full of magical beings and even ordinary people; no one judges anyone else based on their origin or race.

The next day, Daxxel woke Avur and told him to prepare for Roswall Academy.

Avur was confused.

“Wait a minute…

how did you get here so quickly?

Do you live nearby or something?

And how were you able to speak to the headmaster so soon?

It’s literally 7 a.m.” Avur stood up, yawned, and began to stretch while he waited for Daxxel to speak.

Daxxel shrugged casually: “Pure coincidence,” He hadn’t told Avur that he’d watched him sleep for twenty minutes; he’d only wanted to make sure he was alright.

And Avur didn’t know that Daxxel had begged the headmaster to let him in.

This had annoyed the headmaster so much that he just sighed and finally gave in.

“Sure…pure coincidence,” said Avur, without pressing the matter further.

“And maybe you could change…into something other than the…outfit you usually wear.” said Daxxel, examining Avur’s self-sewn school uniform, the word “MONSTER” emblazoned on the back of the jacket.

Avur shook his head.

“Nah, to be honest, I like my school uniform.

I don’t think I’ll be wearing your Roswall school uniform.”

Daxxel sighed dejectedly.

“Fine, if that’s what you want.

But don’t blame me if everyone stares at the boy with ‘Monster’ written on the back of his jacket.”

They were both waiting for breakfast when the innkeeper said: “This is on me, I can’t allow two teenagers to have to pay for everything themselves.”

Avur and Daxxel said at the same time: “That’s great, thank you very much!”

They both look at each other and say at the same time again: “Dude…

did you just think and say the same thing as me?”

“Stop repeating what I’ve said!” they both said to each other.

The innkeeper could hardly contain his laughter as he watched the two young teenagers frolicking about.

“These kids are really something else, now eat quickly before you both miss class,” said the innkeeper, handing them their breakfast: toasted bread with fried eggs and fish fingers.

They both ate quickly and then went to Roswall Academy.

Avur’s heart was pounding in his chest; he was excited and nervous because he couldn’t use magic.

Everyone stared at the newcomer.

His striking appearance immediately drew their attention: His clothes, his yellow eyes, his white, spiky, but shaggy hair, his whole appearance.

Unfortunately, he was attacked by a beastman girl.

She has cat-like features such as cat ears and a cat tail.

Her sense of smell and night vision were also good.

She is neither ugly nor particularly beautiful, but cute and fluffy.

She has pink hair and big blue eyes and is not very curvy.

She is wearing the standard Roswall Academy uniform and seems…

anxious?

She didn’t actually attack him, but she’s on top of Avur, holding him down.

“W-who are you?

I sense something bad about you, I don’t know why…” She almost cries; it seems as if she senses something about him that reminds her of something or someone she clearly doesn’t like…

Avur remains calm; he doesn’t want to seem threatening, but he’s genuinely annoyed that his first day at Roswall Academy has to start this way.

Daxxel tries to clarify the situation: “Wait, Pixie, he’s my friend.

His name is Avur Syofor.”

“Yes, could you please get off me, Pixie?” Avur said, suppressing a hint of annoyance.

Pixie quickly jumped off him and apologized profusely: “I’m so sorry, I thought you were someone else.

May I introduce myself?

My name is Pixie Utakeda.” She offered him her hand kindly.

“She’s not so bad after all,” Avur thought.

He took her hand, and she helped him to his feet.

“Oh no, we’re late for class, come on, Avur,” said Daxxel.

They both ran off to class, leaving Pixie alone with her thoughts.
