“Supreme Kai?
I’ve heard Lord King Kai mention him before.
He said the Supreme Kai is the greatest deity in the Universe.
Are you that deity?” Son Goku asked, pointing at Shin.
Veins bulged on Piccolo’s forehead.
He immediately slapped Goku’s hand aside and scolded him.
“Goku!
Watch your manners!” Rubbing his stinging hand, Goku pouted.
“Geez, Piccolo, you’re way too serious…” Piccolo gritted his teeth.
“You’re the one who’s too dense!
Do you have any idea what it means to be the greatest deity in the Universe?
Show some respect to Lord Supreme Kai!” Meanwhile, Videl, still unable to speak because of the Silence spell, listened to the conversation with complete bewilderment.
Supreme Kai?
The greatest deity in the Universe?
The whole conversation sounded ridiculous to her.
She didn’t believe a single word.
If she hadn’t been silenced, her strong sense of justice would have compelled her to expose what she believed was an obvious scam.
“Mmmph…!” Videl desperately waved her arms, trying to get everyone’s attention.
No one understood what she was trying to say—except Shin and Piccolo, both of whom could hear her thoughts through telepathy.
“Liars!
He’s obviously lying!
Don’t believe him!” “…Supreme Kai?” Vegeta was equally shocked.
He had heard that title before.
“The Supreme Kai… a deity on the same level as the God of Destruction… could it really be him?” When Vegeta was still a child, he had once met Beerus.
That brief encounter had left him with a deep psychological scar.
He also knew that somewhere in the Universe existed another deity equal in status to the God of Destruction—the Supreme Kai.
Furthermore, during his time in the Frieza Force, he had heard the title “Supreme Kai” more than once.
The Supreme Kai was far from unknown throughout the Universe.
The famous Galactic Patrol operated under the Supreme Kai’s protection.
There were even rumors that the Galactic King could communicate directly with the Supreme Kai, though no one knew whether those stories were true.
“If he’s really the Supreme Kai…” Vegeta thought solemnly.
“Then someone on the same level as the God of Destruction must be unimaginably powerful.” ⸻ While everyone backstage was talking, Kibito and Gohan were also speaking on the tournament stage.
“What did you say?” Gohan asked in surprise.
“You want to see me transform into a Super Saiyan?” Backstage, Shin turned toward Piccolo.
“Mr.
Piccolo, please have Mr.
Gohan cooperate with Kibito.” Everyone froze.
Cooperate?
Because they were too far away, no one else had heard the conversation between Kibito and Gohan.
Only Piccolo had heard it clearly thanks to his Namekian hearing.
Although confused, he chose to trust the Supreme Kai.
“Gohan,” Piccolo called through telepathy.
Startled, Gohan looked toward the backstage and saw Piccolo giving him a slight nod.
Though puzzled, Gohan respected Piccolo enough not to question him.
He removed his sunglasses, looked at Kibito seriously, and said, “Very well.” “I’ll grant your request and transform into a Super Saiyan.” “Although I don’t know your purpose…” “I’ll let you witness a power that surpasses the limits of an ordinary Super Saiyan.” Kibito blinked.
“A power beyond a Super Saiyan?” The next instant— Gohan clenched both fists.
His Aura exploded upward.
As his energy rapidly climbed, the entire tournament arena began to tremble.
“AAAAAAAHHHHH!!” He roared.
Golden Ki burst from his body, rising into the sky like a blazing pillar of light.
His hair shot upward beneath his bandana as violent winds swept across the arena.
“AAAAAAAHHHHH!!” With one final roar, Gohan completed his transformation.
Golden light enveloped his body.
Blue arcs of lightning crackled around him without pause.
He looked like a divine warrior descending from heaven.
⸻ Backstage, everyone stared in surprise.
Krillin exclaimed, “Hey!
What is Gohan doing?!” “Won’t everyone recognize him if he transforms?” Goku scratched his head before looking at Shin.
“Lord Supreme Kai, was this why you asked Piccolo to let Gohan cooperate?” Shin smiled and nodded.
“Yes.” Videl stared blankly at the glowing figure in the arena.
Shock filled her eyes.
Countless thoughts raced through her mind.
“Gohan… transformed?” “Could he really be… the mysterious Golden Warrior?” ⸻ In a corner of the venue… Spopovich and Yamu stared at the detector in their hands.
The needle spun wildly, vibrating so violently it looked ready to break.
Yamu widened his eyes.
“What incredible energy!” “It’s him!” “We’ve found our target!” ⸻ On the tournament stage… After transforming into Super Saiyan 2, Gohan’s confidence surged.
He looked at Kibito with a playful smile.
“You’ve seen my transformation.” “So…” “What now?” “Do you actually want to fight someone like me?” Cold sweat trickled down Kibito’s forehead.
“Such overwhelming power…” “Can a mortal really possess strength like this?” ⸻ Backstage… Vegeta watched the transformed Gohan with folded arms before snorting dismissively.
“Hmph.” “When he defeated Cell, he was much stronger than this.” “What a disappointment.” Hearing that, Videl shot Vegeta an irritated glare.
“Who does this guy think he is?” “What gives him the right to criticize Gohan?” ⸻ In the audience, whispers rapidly spread.
“That appearance…” “Isn’t that the same warrior who appeared during Mr.
Satan’s fight with Cell?” One person after another recognized him.
“G-Gohan?” “It can’t be…” “It really is him!” “Gohan is the Golden Warrior!” ⸻ Elsewhere in the venue… Yamu held up a strange bottle-shaped device used to collect energy.
His face was filled with excitement.
“Spopovich!” “You restrain that kid!” “I’ll extract his energy!” Spopovich grinned viciously.
“Got it!” The two immediately charged toward the arena.
Their sudden movement caught the attention of the Z Fighters backstage.
Gohan sensed two hostile Auras rapidly approaching from behind.
He spun around and saw Spopovich and Yamu charging straight at him with malicious expressions.
“What are you trying to do?!” Gohan demanded.
Neither of them answered.
Instead, they rushed directly at him with murderous intent.
