Gohan naturally had no fear of the two attackers.
With a single flash, he effortlessly dodged their charge.
As he moved, he countered with a flurry of punches and kicks.
Bang!
Bang!
Spopovich and Yamu were sent crashing onto the tournament stage.
⸻ Backstage, the Z Fighters watched the two men who had suddenly rushed the ring, only to be instantly defeated by Gohan.
Krillin blinked in confusion.
“What are those guys doing?
That’s got to be a foul, right?” Piccolo’s eyes narrowed.
His gaze briefly shifted toward Shin.
“Could this be the Supreme Kai’s objective?
But… why?” Goku, on the other hand, simply scratched his head.
“That’s strange.
Why did they attack Gohan?
Did Gohan make them mad somehow?” Everyone fell silent.
Is that really what you’re wondering about right now?
⸻ On the tournament stage, the announcer finally recovered from his shock and shouted into the microphone.
“W-What’s going on?!
Contestants Spopovich and Yamu have illegally entered the ring and attacked Contestant Great Saiyaman!
This is a serious violation of the rules!
Both contestants are ordered to leave the stage immediately, or you will both be disqualified!” Groaning, Spopovich and Yamu slowly climbed back to their feet.
Although their bodies had been magically enhanced, taking blows from Super Saiyan Gohan had nearly knocked the life out of them.
Spopovich clutched his twitching stomach.
Hearing the announcer continue shouting below the stage, a vicious expression crossed his face.
Without warning, he raised his hand and fired a Ki Blast straight at the announcer.
“It’s a Ki Blast!” Krillin shouted.
Gohan’s eyes sharpened.
He instantly stepped in front of the announcer and casually swatted the incoming blast aside.
“Bastard!” “What are you trying to do?!” “Are you trying to kill someone?!” Gohan demanded angrily.
Yamu picked up the energy extraction device that had fallen nearby and spoke grimly.
“Spopovich, this kid is stronger than we expected.” “Let’s attack together.” “Subdue him first, then extract his energy.” Spopovich nodded.
The two roared and charged at Gohan once again.
Gohan snorted.
He didn’t take either of them seriously.
Even with Babidi’s magic strengthening their bodies, they were still nothing more than ants compared to a Super Saiyan.
A few clean punches and kicks later, both men were curled up on the ground in agony.
Even their magically enhanced bodies couldn’t withstand the punishment.
It took them a long while before they finally staggered back to their feet, coughing violently.
Yamu’s expression darkened.
“We’re no match for him.” “We need to report back to Master.” “Let him deal with this.” Spopovich nodded in agreement.
The two glared hatefully at Gohan before shooting into the sky and flying toward the horizon.
⸻ Backstage… Watching the two disappear into the distance, Shin spoke calmly.
“I think you should pursue them.” Everyone froze.
Goku scratched his head.
“Even though they attacked Gohan, Gohan already beat them up.” “Do we really need to chase them?” Krillin nodded.
“Yeah.
They’re so weak that letting them go shouldn’t matter.” Piccolo, however, remained serious.
He refused to believe anyone capable of drawing the Supreme Kai’s attention could be so insignificant.
“Lord Supreme Kai…” “Is there something special about those two?” Shin answered calmly, “They are connected to Earth’s survival.” “What?!” Everyone’s expressions changed dramatically.
They stared at Shin in disbelief.
Shin continued, “The situation is complicated and cannot be explained in a few words.” “But I suggest you hurry.” “They’re about to disappear.” Everyone instinctively looked toward the horizon.
Sure enough, in the short time they had been talking, Spopovich and Yamu had already become tiny dots in the distance.
They were about to vanish completely.
“Damn it!” Piccolo immediately shot into the sky in pursuit.
Krillin turned toward Goku.
Seeing Piccolo already chasing after them, Goku nodded decisively.
“Let’s go help Piccolo!” Vegeta frowned.
“Kakarot.” “It’s almost our turn to fight.” “Where exactly do you think you’re going?” Goku sighed.
“Vegeta, this isn’t the time to worry about the tournament.” “Didn’t you hear Lord Supreme Kai?” “Those two are connected to Earth’s survival.” Vegeta looked unwilling.
But when he heard Earth itself might be destroyed, his expression gradually softened.
“Hmph.” “I’ll let it slide this time.” “But once this is over…” “You’d better fight me one-on-one.” Goku smiled in surprise.
He hadn’t expected Vegeta to agree so quickly.
Deep down, he couldn’t help feeling happy.
Looks like Vegeta has finally accepted Earth as his home.
He nodded enthusiastically.
“I promise.” “Once everything’s over, we’ll have a proper match.” “Alright!” “Let’s go catch up with Piccolo!” Krillin scratched his head awkwardly.
“I can come…” “But I should tell my wife first.” “You all go ahead.” “I’ll explain things to Android 18 and catch up.” With that, Krillin hurried toward the backstage exit.
Goku then jumped onto the tournament stage, briefly explained the situation to Gohan, and asked, “So that’s what’s happening.” “Gohan, are you coming?” Gohan nodded immediately.
“Of course.” “Then let’s go!” Goku took off first, flying after Piccolo.
Shin smiled faintly before rising into the air and following behind.
Vegeta clicked his tongue before reluctantly taking flight as well.
A moment later, Krillin finished informing Android 18, rushed outside, and quickly chased after the others.
Just as Gohan was about to leave… Videl suddenly ran over.
“Mmm…!” Unable to speak, she waved her hands frantically.
Her voice still hadn’t returned.
Gohan looked at her in confusion.
“Videl?” “What’s wrong?” Videl pointed desperately at her mouth.
Her eyes were beginning to well up with tears.
“You… can’t talk?” Gohan asked anxiously.
“Mmm!” She nodded repeatedly.
“What happened?” “Why can’t you speak all of a sudden?” Gohan grew even more anxious than Videl herself.
He kept asking questions, but no matter how desperately Videl tried to explain, all that came out were muffled sounds.
Watching her struggle only made Gohan more worried.
At that moment, Kibito walked over.
“This young lady has been affected by a spell,” he explained.
“That is why she is unable to speak.” (End of Chapter)
