“Hey, don’t go!”

Fiora chased after Vincent and Aurelie before they left the room.

“Wait, Vi—I mean, Mr.Full novel: Ex’s Regret: Sold Me to the Billionaire Alpha — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Keagant!” Fiora said, holding out both hands in front of Vincent.

“What else?” Vincent asked, looking annoyed.

“Why are you so fussy?”

“Mr.

Vincent, you should come close to fulfilling your promise to bury this scandal.

I already did what you wanted, kneeling down and apologizing to Aurelie,” Fiora said sternly.

Vincent’s brows furrowed.

“When did I ever promise you?

Nothing I said mentioned a promise.

I only said that if you kneel down and apologize to Aurelie, I would consider it, and honestly, after considering it, seeing your insincere apology, I decided not to do anything about the scandal.

After all, journalists are just making a living.

They need good stories and can last a long time.”

Fiora gasped at Vincent’s response.

“B-but, you said—”

“What did I say?

Do I need to play the recording of our entire conversation?” Vincent asked flatly.

“There wasn’t a single word that said I promised you anything.”

“Do you always record every conversation you have with other people?” Fiora snapped, annoyed.

“Not with everyone,” Vincent said.

“Only with people I consider enemies.”

Fiora’s face flushed red.

Vincent continued walking toward the exit.

Aurelie hugged his neck tighter and hid her face in the crook of his neck.

Vincent’s broad shoulder nudged Fiora, and she slumped against the wall.

“Wait, wait, hey!” Fiora tried to catch up.

She was angry because she felt she’d been played by Vincent and also afraid because it seemed this scandal would eventually spread.

“Ms.

Lyman, please, don’t force it,” said Krit, who was standing guard at the door.

“My Alpha has no obligation to you.”

“That’s right, Ms.

Lyman,” added Gary, who had joined Krit.

“This is your fault and your boyfriend’s, so don’t expect anything from our Alpha.”

Fiora slumped to the floor, desperate and confused.

She cried in anger.

Krit and Gary looked at each other, then shrugged and left Fiora alone in suite 1804.

Mathew heard Fiora’s cries from the bathroom.

He opened the bathroom door carefully, checking to see if anyone was still in the room.

Fiora heard the bathroom door open.

She wiped away her tears and stood up, unsteadily walking toward Mathew, who was wearing his shirt and pants.

“Mathew, damn it, what were you thinking when you did that stupid thing, you bastard!” Fiora raged.

She approached Mathew and hit him furiously.

“Hey, hey, Fiora, stop!” Mathew grabbed Fiora’s hand in exasperation.

“Wait a minute, hey!”

Fiora panted, exhausted.

Anger and hurt had drained her strength.

Mathew slapped Fiora’s hand away and snorted sarcastically.

“Why are you so stupid, Fiora?

You can’t handle a problem like this?

You even kneel to the person who trapped me in this mess?”

Fiora was shocked by Mathew’s words.

She couldn’t understand why she was the one being scolded.

“What do you mean, Mathew?

I’m trying to cover up this stupid scandal you’ve created, and you’re yelling at me?” Fiora snapped.

“You’re planning to waste money on those stupid reporters!” Mathew shouted.

“You’re a spendthrift!

You don’t deserve to be the Damon family’s daughter-in-law!”

SLAP!!!

Mathew held his cheek, which stung when Fiora slapped him.

“You’re sleeping with several men and women at the same time, and you think it’s not big news?” Fiora snapped angrily.

“I’m trying to protect you, and you just yell at me.

Bastard!

You’re ungrateful!” Disgusting!

“I didn’t do anything,” Mathew said.

“It was all a setup, and you should know who did this!”

Mathew and Fiora stared at each other angrily, until they both sighed.

“It was Aurelie,” Mathew said.

“She played a prank on me.”

“Yeah, I guess you’re right,” Fiora said weakly.

“I think instead of fighting, we should figure out how we can get revenge on her.”

The next afternoon, as Aurelie sat with Vincent in the White Mansion garden enjoying tea and snacks, Gary approached them with breaking news.

“The news about the Mathew Damon scandal skyrocketed in just a few hours from yesterday afternoon to this afternoon, beating the trending topics about you, Alpha and Luna,” Gary said.

“But…”

Aurelie smiled.

“They disappeared this afternoon, right?”

“What do you mean disappeared?” Vincent asked, exasperated.

Gary pulled out his iPad and refreshed a page on social media, then another.

“You’re right, Luna Aurelie.

The news disappeared about two hours ago,” Gary said.

“How could that be?

I paid those reporters to keep the scandal under wraps,” Vincent said angrily.

“The reporters’ representatives contacted me a while ago and said they’ll refund your money, because they’ve already received 200 million from Mathew to remove the story from the internet,” Gary said.

Vincent burst out laughing at Gary’s words.

His tactic had worked.

He’d deliberately lured the Damon family into paying a large sum to keep the scandal from spreading.

He’d made a deal with the reporters.

They would comply with his demands if Mathew couldn’t pay double what Vincent had offered.

But even if Mathew did manage to pay double, at least for a few hours, or maybe a few days, the news of the scandal would still be out.

“You planned this, Hubby,” Aurelie said with a faint smile.

“Clever.”

Vincent smiled proudly.

“At least I hope they’ve learned a lesson not to mess with me and my partner.”

Aurelie picked up a sweet pastry and handed it to Vincent, wanting to feed him.

Vincent opened his mouth happily and chewed the cake greedily, his hand gripping Aurelie’s tightly.

“Gary, you have to keep an eye on them,” Vincent said to his Beta.

“People like them are usually stupid and never learn from making the same mistakes.”

“Yes, Alpha Vincent, I’ll keep an eye on them,” Gary said.

Footsteps sounded from behind.

“That’s Grandpa Aston,” Aurelie said.

“I recognize the sound of his shoes and the stomp of his cane.

And Carrin.”

Vincent stared at Aurelie with growing admiration.

It was as if being blind wasn’t a weakness for her, since she was able to maximize her other senses.

“That’s right, Alpha Vincent.

Grandpa Aston and Ms.

Carrin are on their way here.

They look serious,” Gary said quietly.

Vincent’s brow furrowed.

He knew what his grandfather was about to say, and he was reluctant to face the old man.

Vincent let go of Aurelie’s hand.

“Aurie, I have to go.

I have work to finish and—”

“Hubby,” Aurelie said softly, cutting Vincent off.

She reached out and took his hand, holding it.

“Stay here and accompany me to talk to your grandfather and sister.

Okay?

Hmm?

Please?”

Oh my!

“You’ve lost, Alpha Vin!” Varn laughed loudly.

“Damn it!

She’s definitely not a wolfless werewolf.

She’s a witch.

She makes me weak with her smile!” Vincent cursed under his breath.

He stayed
