The mortal’s gone now.
Time to have a little fun with this transmigrator.
Let’s see…
birthday.
Year 769, September 6th — that’ll put him a few years younger than the main character.
Fine by me.
And heh, why not make him Mirajane’s half-brother while I’m at it?
He’s got a little crush on her, doesn’t he?
Perfect.
So here’s the setup: her mother was the dragon’s previous sealing vessel, but she never had the willpower to fully integrate its magic — couldn’t handle the pain of it.
So she set her sights on the next best thing: having children who could inherit the dragon instead.
Only catch is, the transfer needs the same bloodline as the parents, the opposite gender from the vessel, and enough raw talent to handle it.
Mirajane’s got the talent, but wrong gender.
Her other two siblings do not have enough talent.
Our boy’s the only one who fits both.
So, the mother kills the father on a carriage ride, stages it to look like they both died in the “accident,” abandons them and then goes looking for some random strong mage to have a child with instead.
Decent backstory, if I do say so myself.
Oh — and for the strong mage, why not Gildarts?
Heh.
That’ll be fun.
What else…
right, he asked me to make him look good.
How about I just make him a femboy?
Should’ve been more specific if he didn’t want that — too scared of angering me to ask, I bet.
Heh, works out either way.
Family drama, then.
Can’t have a good reunion without some blood and tears, so let’s have him beaten half to death right around when canon kicks off — that ought to get the drama flowing nicely.
And I’ll slip him a little info on Erza, toss him in her cell.
Knowing him, he’ll try to get on her good side, end up giving her last name, and accidentally make her fall for him without even realizing it — all while he thinks she’s in love with Jellal the whole time.
Their little tangle should be a mess in the best way.
And Erza and Mira as sisters-in-law?
Now that’s just funny.
Oh, this is going to be legendary.
December, Year 774 A black-haired child was tossed into a cell with quite some force.
The child was unconscious, and looked to be about five years old.
A few hours later — Ugh, my head hurts.
“Hiss — where am I?” “You’re in the Tower of Paradise.
I’m Jellal Fernandes.
What’s your name?” Me?
I’m— wait, who am I?
While trying to remember my name, I simply replied, “You can call me Jack for now.” “For now?” “I don’t have a name.
Jack is what the lady at the orphanage called me.” “So Jack is your name?” “No.
I haven’t decided on my name yet.
That’s just my old name, the one I don’t want anymore.” “Oh — why’s that?” “I don’t like that name.” “I see.
You should eat your food.
It’ll give you energy to work tomorrow.” “Work?
My guy, we’re slaves — that’s a pretty generous word for what they’re doing to us.
They’re going to work us to death doing heavy labor.” The air in the cell went tense, then an aged voice spoke up.
“Kid, keeping a positive attitude is good for your health.
We may be slaves, but once these cockroaches from the dark guild are found out, we’ll be saved.” “Old man, do you even believe that yourself?” “My name is Rob.
I used to be a mage of Fairy Tail — you can call me Grandpa, if you’d like.
And having hope is always a good thing, or else one might fall into darkness.” “Okay, okay.
Old man, how did bastards like these even catch a mage like you?” “Sigh.
I’m just a retired old man who could barely use any magic anymore.
Being ambushed at night by ten mages is more than enough to take me down.” “Alright, Grandpa, stop bragging,” said Jellal.
“Kid, what do you mean, bragging?
I’m telling you — I used to fight wyverns with my bare hands!” “We understand, Grandpa,” said a girl about two years older than me.
“I’m Millianna.
You can call me sister.” “No.” “Why?” “Because I don’t want to.
Anyway, I’m hungry — pass over the food.” That’s how the conversation ended, and now I had to figure out how to escape, communicate with the dragon in my body, and get my memories in order.
Sigh.
Let’s just eat and sleep for now — I’ll think about all that tomorrow.
