“Why are we here?”

The car drove for over half an hour before entering the underground garage of Huafei Hotel. After parking, Yan Wei got out first to open the car door for her.

Zhou Bai didn’t get out. Instead, she asked Yan Wei curiously.Full novel: Forced Marriage: Young Master Gu’s Secret Wife — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Yan Wei said, “The boss is waiting for you in the room.”

Zhou Bai’s expression darkened. Booking a hotel room and summoning her here—it sounded so awkward.

She really didn’t want to get out of the car, let alone see Gu Chengjin.

But Yan Wei urged her again, “Madam, the boss is waiting.”

“Got it.”

Zhou Bai reluctantly stepped out of the car and followed Yan Wei into the elevator.

The elevator rose all the way to the sixteenth floor before stopping. After exiting, they turned right and walked a short distance to a guest room door. Yan Wei took out a keycard and opened the door with a beep.

Zhou Bai followed Yan Wei inside.

It was likely a presidential suite. Upon entering, there was a small living room first, with a door on the right leading to the bedroom.

Gu Chengjin was lying on the bed in the bedroom.

However, he wasn’t alone. There were two other people in the bedroom—a man and a woman.

The man was likely a bodyguard, dressed in a black suit, standing by the bed with his hands clasped in front of him. Like a guardian deity, he stood watch over Gu Chengjin.

The woman was sitting on the sofa in the bedroom, wearing a strapless long dress that revealed her beautiful back. Her skin was so fair it seemed to glow, flawless. Though seated, her posture was elegant, showcasing her graceful curves.

Since she was sitting sideways, Zhou Bai first saw half of her profile as soon as she entered.

She was truly beautiful, with skin so delicate it seemed almost translucent. Her eyelashes were long and curled, and her nose was both petite and well-defined.

Perhaps sensing Zhou Bai’s gaze, she turned her head and showed a surprised expression upon seeing Yan Wei and Zhou Bai.

“Assistant Yan, who is she?” The woman stood up, her curvaceous figure even more pronounced, though her attitude carried a hint of arrogance.

But with looks like hers, she naturally had the right to be arrogant.

“Ah, I know who you are,” Zhou Bai exclaimed, pointing at the woman in surprise.

Yan Wei: “…”

“You’re the big star Zhou Muyan?” Zhou Bai happily called out the woman’s name.

No wonder she looked familiar just from her profile.

She had seen her on TV earlier that day, but in person, she was even more beautiful.

Zhou Bai didn’t hold back her praise, “You’re even prettier in person than on TV.”

“Of course,” Zhou Muyan replied smugly.

Being complimented on one’s looks was always a pleasant thing, even if she still didn’t know who this woman was.

“Zhou Zhou, come here.”

Gu Chengjin, lying on the bed, suddenly called out.

Zhou Bai turned around, about to walk over, when she saw Zhou Muyan eagerly step forward ahead of her.

Right, her name was Zhou Muyan. Could that “Zhou Zhou” be referring to her?

Zhou Bai retracted her foot and stood still where she was.

“Mr. Gu, you finally remembered me,” Zhou Muyan cooed flirtatiously.

However, the bodyguard beside Gu Chengjin reached out to stop her. “The boss has instructed that Miss Zhou cannot approach.”

“Didn’t you hear Mr. Gu call me? Step aside,” Zhou Muyan snapped sharply.

The bodyguard looked at Yan Wei.

Yan Wei explained to Zhou Muyan, “Miss Zhou, the boss was calling for Madam. Madam’s name is Zhou Bai.”

Zhou Bai, who had been lost in thought, suddenly snapped back to attention. “Me?”

Zhou Muyan turned her head in disbelief to look at Zhou Bai, raising a trembling hand to point at her and asking, “Who did you say she is? Mrs.? Gu Chengjin’s wife?”

“Yes,” Yan Wei nodded.

“No, I don’t believe it. You must be lying to me. How could President Gu be married? There’s been no news of him getting married at all. And even if he did, he wouldn’t marry such an ordinary woman.”

“I may be ordinary, but I’m an ordinary beauty,” Zhou Bai weakly defended herself.

The title of Jiang University’s campus belle wasn’t for nothing. Though she wasn’t as strikingly beautiful as Zhou Muyan, she wasn’t bad either. Being insulted for no reason—why should she endure this humiliation?

“Shut up! What right do you have to be Mrs. Gu?” Zhou Muyan shrieked hysterically.

“And what right do you have to shout at my wife?” Gu Chengjin sat up in bed, propping himself up with his arms, his eyes cold and sharp as he questioned Zhou Muyan.

“President Gu, you’re awake. Please tell me this isn’t true. It’s Assistant Yan lying to me, right? I know I was wrong. I’ll never do it again, never speak out of turn again. Please don’t be angry with me,” Zhou Muyan pleaded pitifully.

“Yan Wei, take her out,” Gu Chengjin said with a stern face.

Yan Wei nodded and immediately signaled to the bodyguards, who forcibly dragged Zhou Muyan out of the room.

Zhou Muyan cried pitifully, continuously begging Gu Chengjin, but it was all in vain.

Soon, only Zhou Bai and Gu Chengjin remained in the room.

Truthfully, Zhou Bai wanted to leave too.

What was going on?

Had Gu Chengjin and Zhou Muyan argued?

So he called her over to use her identity to provoke Zhou Muyan?

But she had no interest in watching this melodramatic scene. She had an experiment tomorrow morning and wanted to cram a bit more studying.

“Come here.”

Gu Chengjin collapsed back onto the bed, barking impatiently at Zhou Bai.

Why was he taking his anger out on her when he’d argued with another woman?

Zhou Bai was furious, her face dark as she walked over.

But as soon as she reached the bedside, Gu Chengjin hooked his foot around her leg, causing her to lose balance and fall onto him.

Gu Chengjin caught her, rolled over with her in his arms, and pinned her beneath him.

“Get off, you’re crushing me,” Zhou Bai protested, her face flushed.

“No. I called you earlier—why didn’t you come?” Gu Chengjin narrowed his eyes and questioned her.

Only then did Zhou Bai realize he was drunk.

His face was unusually flushed, and the smell of alcohol on him was strong but not unpleasant.

Perhaps because he was drunk, his eyes were narrowed, lacking their usual depth and cunning. His voice wasn’t as stern as before either, almost carrying a hint of coquettishness.

Coquettishness? Gu Chengjin being coquettish with her?

Zhou Bai quickly shook her head, banishing the terrifying thought from her mind.

It must be an illusion.

She must have been kicked in the head by a donkey to think Gu Chengjin was being coquettish with her.

“She has the same surname as me. How was I supposed to know you were calling for me?”

“Besides you, I wouldn’t call anyone else Zhou Zhou,” Gu Chengjin mumbled.

Zhou Bai nodded. “Alright, I get it. Can you get off now? You’re really heavy.”

“No. I’m your man. No matter how heavy I am, you have to bear it,” Gu Chengjin declared domineeringly, speaking nonsense.

Zhou Bai gritted her teeth in anger.

She pushed against his chest, trying to shove him off with all her might, but he wouldn’t budge.

“Sweetheart, are you trying to seduce me?”

Gu Chengjin gazed at her slender, jade-like hand resting on his chest, revealing a playful smile.

Zhou Bai was startled, her eyes flustered as she withdrew her hand. However, Gu Chengjin was quicker, grasping her hand, rubbing it for a moment before interlacing their fingers.
