The next day, Chase and Blaze once again set off on their journey.

Along the way, they only occasionally spotted some Pokemon out and about during the sunniest part of the day; for the rest of the time, there was hardly a living creature in sight.

As the weather grew colder, most Pokemon hid away and dared not venture out.Full novel: From Ranger to Pokémon Master — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

The trees in the forest also slowly began shedding all their leaves, preparing for the winter.

However, this was undoubtedly good news for Chase.

After all, compared to the dense, sun-blocking foliage of summer and autumn, the current landscape made it much easier for them to clearly identify directions and navigate their way forward.

But just when Chase thought everything was going normally, the system’s voice suddenly sounded in his ear.

[Emergency Situation: Rescue the Lost Trainer] [Quest Requirement: Follow the guide to find the lost Trainer, ensure the life safety of him and his Pokemon] [Quest Reward: Complete Set of Evolution Stones x1, Junior Potential Enhancement Potion x1, Lottery Chance x1, Resource Points x20] “Stop!” After reading the quest description, Chase quickly made Blaze stop.

Then, he saw a red arrow suddenly appear in his field of vision, firmly pointing to his west no matter how much he shook his head.

Saving a life is like fighting a fire!

Without the slightest hesitation, Chase immediately gave an order in the target’s direction: “Go that way!

Someone is in danger, Blaze, let’s hurry over, fast!” Blaze twitched its nose in confusion, but didn’t catch the scent of any other humans nearby.

“Woof?” There’s obviously only you around here?

Even though they had been together for over three months, the level of trust between Chase and Blaze obviously hadn’t reached the point of blind faith.

It wouldn’t hesitate at all to execute clear-cut orders, but to say that Chase’s senses were better than its own nose—it wouldn’t believe that in a million years.

But Chase had no way to prove it to Blaze.

Even if he brought up the system, it probably wouldn’t be of much use since the other party likely wouldn’t understand.

So, he could only grit his teeth and say: “Trust me, Blaze, someone over there is really in danger!

I can feel it!” “Woof woof.” Alright, I’ll trust you this time.

Seeing Chase’s insistence, Blaze had no choice but to follow his wishes.

Given the emergency, Blaze’s speed grew faster and faster under Chase’s urging.

It wasn’t long before they arrived at a long stream valley filled with jagged rocks.

“Woof?” What’s next?

Blaze stopped in its tracks in front of the freezing stream water.

By this point, it was somewhat starting to believe that Chase’s words might not be false.

Flowing water would wash away and mask scents, coupled with the vast distance from earlier; it wasn’t strange that it hadn’t noticed anything abnormal.

Fortunately, the system was reliable enough.

Following the arrow’s guidance, the human and Pokemon quickly found an unconscious boy hidden in a stone cave on the right side of the valley.

…

Aaron felt like he had a very long dream.

In the dream, he was eating hotpot with his Pokemon in a warm room, while admiring the boundless snowy scenery outside.

Besides them, his grandmother, whom he hadn’t seen for a long time, was also there.

He didn’t know why her face looked a bit blurry, which made him feel a little panicked.

“Grandma, try this, the soup this time is so delicious!” Aaron picked up a large chunk of meat with his chopsticks and put it in his grandmother’s bowl.

Even though he couldn’t see her face clearly, her kind gaze made his heart incredibly peaceful, wishing time could freeze at this moment forever.

“Aaron, hurry up and go after you finish eating.

Grandma is doing well here, Grandma will always miss you.” Sometime later, the scene around Aaron suddenly changed.

The warm house, the steaming hotpot, and his Pokemon all vanished without a trace, leaving only the icy world of snow and the bone-chilling wind outside.

And his grandmother, who was getting further and further away, whom he couldn’t catch up to no matter how hard he ran.

“No!!

Grandma, wait for me!

Grandma, I really miss you—” Aaron didn’t know when he had started crying his heart out, but he still couldn’t hold back the grandmother who loved him the most.

“Grandma, Grandma, don’t go…” Inside the warm tent, Aaron opened his eyes somewhat blankly, staring dazedly at everything in front of him.

“Is this…

heaven?” At the moment before waking up, Aaron had remembered everything: his grandmother had passed away years ago.

And he himself, on his journey after becoming a Trainer, had accidentally gotten lost in the forest, eventually fainting when his food and water were completely exhausted.

Since he was able to travel alone, Aaron naturally knew just how dangerous his situation was.

Without a miracle, it was a dead end.

That was why he suspected whether the place he was in was heaven when he opened his eyes.

But to him, a place with his grandmother, even if it was hell, would be no different from heaven.

As he slowly regained his senses, both the soft mattress beneath him and the familiar fabric in his sight made him realize that he must have been saved by someone.

“Excuse me, is anyone there!” Aaron used all his strength to shout, but because his body was so weak, the sound he made was barely louder than a mosquito’s buzz.

But it was enough.

As the tent flap was opened, a young man wearing a camouflage uniform walked in, holding a small bowl emitting steam.

“That’s great, you’re finally awake.” Chase’s face showed a hint of relief, thinking to himself that it was indeed worthy of the superhumans unique to the Pokemon world; to think he could pull through even when his body was frozen stiff.

“You are…” Aaron asked weakly.

“My name is Chase, I’m the Forest Ranger in charge of this area.

I accidentally found you unconscious while I was patrolling.” Chase walked up to Aaron with the bowl, and the tempting aroma immediately caught the latter’s full attention.

“Here, let me feed you.” Seeing this, Chase didn’t waste any words and fed the soup into the Trainer’s stomach spoonful by spoonful.

After getting some nutrition, Aaron’s spirits visibly improved, and his voice became much clearer: “Mr.

Ranger, please…

may I ask how my Pokemon…

is doing now…” “Don’t worry, it’s doing much better than you.

My Pokemon is taking care of it.” Chase wasn’t lying.

After all, with the protection of the Poke Ball, coupled with the fact that a Pokemon’s physical constitution was naturally stronger than a human’s, it had already woken up long ago.

It was just resting in another tent due to physical weakness.

“Thank you…

thank you…” Aaron wanted to say something more, but was directly stopped by Chase, who indicated that getting some sleep right now was the most important thing, and they could talk about whatever it was after he woke up.
