Looking at the boy before him, who was fourteen or fifteen at most, Chase couldn’t help but sigh with a touch of emotion.

Probably only parents in the Pokemon world would feel so at ease letting an underage child travel out on their own.

However, thinking about the Pokemon resting in the other tent, Chase suddenly felt that the parents couldn’t be entirely blamed.

After all, equipped with a Pokemon of that caliber, as long as one didn’t actively court death, it was basically impossible to run into life-threatening accidents.

But glancing down at Aaron, Chase thought to himself that this must be one of those “actively courting death” scenarios…

After all, even for a superhuman in the Pokemon world, judging by his practically imperceptible heartbeat when he was found, if Chase hadn’t arrived in time, the boy wouldn’t have lasted much longer.

The night passed uneventfully.

By the next morning, Aaron was awakened by an intense gnawing hunger in his stomach.

Before he could even open his mouth, he saw Chase walk in carrying a bowl of steaming food.

“Oh, you’re awake.

Must have smelled the aroma, huh?

Pretty sharp nose you’ve got there.” Chase casually teased Aaron, feeding him the Pokeblock-infused soup just like yesterday.

With limited resources in the wild, Chase had to make do with what he had.

Besides, humans in this world were essentially a species of Pokemon anyway; eating a little Pokeblock wouldn’t cause any issues.

With his nutrition replenished and a full night’s rest, the young man’s vitality recovered at a visible rate.

By the time Chase left the tent, he could actually manage to sit up in bed on his own.

Although his movements were still a bit clumsy, he was like a completely different person compared to the half-dead state he was in yesterday.

However, the kid had a decent sense of self-awareness, knowing that his top priority right now was to rest.

He didn’t dare stay upright for too long and prepared to lie back down.

But before he could make a move, a familiar sound suddenly came from outside the tent.

“Cough—” “Typhlosion?!” A look of delight appeared on Aaron’s face.

As his starter Pokemon, he could tell just from this short cry that it was doing well.

That Ranger really hadn’t lied to him.

But before he could be happy for long, a pained screech from Typhlosion echoed out.

Frightened out of his wits, Aaron ignored his weak state and stumbled out of the tent, only to see his Typhlosion already transformed into a continuously spinning wheel of fierce flames, charging at full speed toward an Arcanine standing guard at the tent entrance.

It was [Flare Blitz]!

Aaron recognized the ultimate move at a glance.

After all, this was the Fire-type heavy-hitting move they had mastered through arduous special training after participating in the Silver Conference, with the goal of achieving better results in the next Pokemon League Conference.

However, before he could cry out in alarm, he saw the Arcanine, barely two or three meters away from him, raise a paw, seize the exact moment, and slam it ruthlessly onto Typhlosion, forcibly knocking it right out of its [Flare Blitz] state.

[Bulldoze]!

Blaze’s strength far surpassed Typhlosion’s.

Coupled with the double damage of a Ground-type move against a Fire-type, the blow instantly sent Typhlosion into a dazed state.

It took a good while for it to recover its senses, yet it found itself utterly unable to break free from under Blaze’s paw.

“Ty!!” Falling into a furious rage, Typhlosion’s body temperature rapidly began to rise.

The flames around its neck erupted into a blazing inferno as it tried to force Blaze back with the intense heat.

Yet, no matter how hard Typhlosion struggled, Blaze simply stared down at it silently, as if watching a clown performing a futile act.

“Typhlosion!!” Typhlosion naturally had a bad temper to begin with; how could it endure such provocation?

It immediately prepared to fight its opponent to the death.

“Typhlosion, stop!

Cough, cough…” Aaron quickly shouted to stop his Pokemon’s reckless behavior.

Because he was too anxious, he couldn’t help but cough a few times.

“Ty?!” Hearing its Trainer’s call, Typhlosion’s crimson eyes instantly cleared up.

“Ty!!” Typhlosion struggled for a moment, only to find that it still couldn’t escape Blaze’s suppression.

Utterly defeated, it had no choice but to look up at the Arcanine with pleading, pitiful eyes.

“Woof!” Blaze let out an aloof bark before finally lifting its paw.

The very next second, Typhlosion shot toward Aaron, who had his arms wide open, like an arrow released from a bow.

“Wu…” Typhlosion, grinning widely, hadn’t been happy for more than a few seconds before it suddenly felt a familiar, immense force slam into its back, giving it another intimate rendezvous with the dirt.

“Woof, woof woof!” Are you blind?!

Can’t you see your Trainer is still very weak right now?!

Terrified that Aaron might be severely hurt by the impact, Blaze used [Extreme Speed] to nip the accident in the bud.

Then, to prevent a repeat performance, it grabbed Typhlosion by the scruff of its neck with its paw and dangled the big head right in front of Aaron, finally allowing them to have a proper reunion.

Sigh, being a good dog is such a heart-breaking job…

Looking at its Trainer’s pale face, Typhlosion finally realized that it had indeed been too impulsive just now.

It stopped struggling and gave Aaron a goofy smile, baring all of its teeth in a greeting.

“Ty…” “Typhlosion…” “I thought I’d never see you again…” Aaron could no longer suppress the surge of emotions in his heart and hugged Typhlosion tightly.

Seeing this, Blaze timely let go of its paw, allowing the Trainer and Pokemon to quietly revel in the blessing of having survived a near-death experience.

A long while later, having finally calmed down, Aaron led Typhlosion in front of Blaze and bowed deeply to the Arcanine, offering an extremely solemn apology.

From their brief interaction just now, Aaron had already figured out why the two had fought.

It was entirely because Typhlosion was desperate to confirm his safety, while Blaze, following Chase’s orders, wanted to give Aaron a quiet space to recuperate and forbade any unauthorized personnel from entering his tent.

With Typhlosion’s temper, how could it possibly compromise?

It had immediately rolled up its sleeves for a brawl, only to get slapped and sent flying several meters away by Blaze.

That led to the scene Aaron had witnessed upon stepping out of the tent.

“Woof, woof woof.” Seeing that the human and Pokemon were sincerely apologetic, Blaze magnanimously indicated that it wouldn’t hold a grudge over the incident.

Moreover, due to their rushed travel over the past couple of days, Blaze hadn’t gotten a single chance to spar with any Pokemon.

Although today’s Typhlosion was a bit weak, it still somewhat scratched its battle-hungry itch.

“By the way, where did Mr.

Ranger go?

How come I didn’t see him just now?” Aaron glanced around the empty temporary camp and asked curiously.

“Woof, woof woof!” Blaze gestured wildly for a bit, eventually pointing to the unburnt branches in the campfire at the center of the camp, indicating that Chase had just stepped out to look for firewood.
