After getting into the car arranged by the travel agency, the group was about to head to the first stop of their journey—the Dian City Snow Mountain.
The old lady was naturally a socially adept person, and it just so happened that the travel agency’s tour guide was also very talkative.
The two chatted merrily all the way. The old lady even managed to ask about the tour guide’s family situation and whether they were married. This chatting skill truly left Chu Wanchen filled with wonder.
Chu Wanchen suspected that if they hadn’t already arrived at the hotel, her maternal grandmother would have found out every last detail of the tour guide’s family tree.
The hotel booked by the travel agency was named Puyu. The Puyu Hotel was located on the Dian City Snow Mountain, and staying in the hotel allowed one to directly see the magnificent beauty of the golden mountain under the sunshine. Therefore, even though its price was on the higher side compared to hotels of the same tier, it was still fully booked during the peak tourist season of July.
If it weren’t for the travel agency’s connections, it would have taken quite a bit of effort to book this hotel.
Puyu covered a considerable amount of land. Unlike other hotels, all of its suites were villa suites, which not only guaranteed the privacy of the guests but also provided enough space for a family’s activities.
The architectural style of the hotel combined the traditional Naxi ancient village layout of Dian City, being higher in the east and lower in the west, with buildings rising in rows like fish scales.
The suite Chu Wanchen and the others were staying in was the one with the best location in the hotel. This suite was not available for public reservation; it could only be booked through special channels, and the travel agency just happened to belong to this kind of special channel.
When the group first arrived at the hotel, the hotel’s dedicated butler came out to welcome them.
The butler and the tour guide took the luggage from the group. The two elderly people were still very unaccustomed to being served and wanted to take their luggage to carry to the rooms themselves, but they were persuaded to stop by Chu Wanchen under the pretext that these services were already paid for.
After the butler helped them check in, the group entered the villa suite where they would be staying for the next few days.
The villa was made entirely of wood, equipped with electric heating and climate-controlled air conditioning inside. What satisfied Chu Wanchen the most was undoubtedly the oversized bathtub inside the room.
There was also an unobstructed private terrace in the room. Whether it was the “one meter of sunshine” or the golden mountain under the sunshine, one could easily take in the full, majestic 180-degree view of the beautiful Dian City Snow Mountain and glaciers from here.
The hotel also featured facilities such as the Xuejingge Restaurant, meeting rooms, a science and technology museum, an observatory, a tea room, a coffee bar, a SPA, a retreat center, a Mirror of the Sky, and a yoga platform.
Xuejingge was an all-day dining restaurant open to the public, integrating a restaurant and a bar. It blended international classic delicacies such as Chinese and Western-style food and local Dian City specialty hot pot to satisfy the taste buds of different guests, and featured cocktails could also be enjoyed at dusk. True to its name, Xuejingge possessed an oversized viewing terrace, offering a full view of the wonders of the Dian City Snow Mountain at different times of the day.
The butler and the tour guide left after escorting the group into the room.
The four of them had never stayed in such a luxurious hotel before, especially the two elderly people, to whom absolutely everything looked novel.
Grandmother looked left and right, feeling as if her two eyes weren’t enough to take it all in, “My dear, this whole house belongs to us?”
Hearing her grandmother’s exclamation, Chu Wanchen replied with a smile, “Yes, right now there are only the four of us in this whole suite, and we’ll be staying here for the next few days.”
After touring the entire suite, the group began to assign rooms.
The elders were not picky about the rooms at all. After noticing that Chu Wanchen liked the bathtub, they gave her the room with the largest bathtub.
After assigning the rooms and unpacking the luggage, it was also time for lunch.
Although the entire morning had been spent on vehicles, the group still felt a bit fatigued. They simply decided not to visit the scenic areas at noon and just eat something at the hotel restaurant instead.
Having made the decision, the group went to the restaurant.
The Puyu Hotel’s restaurant not only had the Western restaurants that other hotels possessed, but it also provided Dian City specialty delicacies.
The group ordered a Dian City specialty yak meat hot pot and sat on the terrace of Xuejingge waiting for the delicious food.
Although it was currently July, Dian City itself was known as the Spring City, and since Puyu was located on the mountainside of the snow mountain, the climate was just around twenty degrees.
While people in other cities were wearing short-sleeved shirts, the four of them had already put on long sleeves and even draped jackets over themselves.
By the time the yak meat hot pot was served, the group just happened to be hungry.
Although they had eaten some food on the plane, it was all liquid-based items that at most filled them up with fluids, which had long been digested after such a long time.
The yak meat of Dian City was extremely delicious, without a hint of gaminess, carrying only a full, milky aroma.
Looking at the wonderful scenery of the snow mountain opposite them and eating the delicious food in front of them.
