5: Chapter 5:I Will Definitely Be Back!

Poseidon glanced back at Hera, who was venting her fury behind him, and shook his head helplessly before turning his gaze toward Kronos, who was slowly straightening his body in the distance.Full novel: Greek Mythology: True God Of The Sea Poseidon — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Thanks to the extraordinary senses he had honed through endless years in darkness, Poseidon could clearly tell that while he and Hades had seemed to be engaged in a pointless argument, Kronos had already recovered.

He was willing to bet Hades had noticed it as well.

Even Hera, who was currently throwing a tantrum, had probably realized it.

With her pride bordering on paranoia, she was most likely watching coldly from the sidelines, curious to see what tricks this despicable “father” still had up his sleeve—while also taking the opportunity to let their arrogant blond little brother suffer a little.

“Heh.

Say, even though this is our first meeting, isn’t your acting a little unconvincing?

You’re actually lying on the ground playing dead just to ambush a few children who were only ‘born’ not long ago?

Has the dignity of the Titan King really fallen so low?” Poseidon chuckled lightly as he rolled his neck.

There wasn’t a trace of reverence in his sea-blue eyes—only naked mockery.

Faced with Poseidon’s ridicule, Kronos merely sneered, completely unmoved.

“Hmph.

Judging by that sea-blue hair, you must be Poseidon.

Rhea and my ‘beloved mother,’ Gaia… I know every name they secretly prepared for you.” His cold gaze swept across the group.

“The black-haired one is Hades.

Behind you stand Hestia and Demeter.

And over there… the one whose temper burns even hotter than her crimson hair is my ‘dear daughter,’ Hera.” “And what of it, my great ‘father’?” Poseidon raised an eyebrow and flashed a grin full of gleaming white teeth.

“To know your name is to know the essence of your power.

Besides, your Divine Names haven’t even fully awakened.

You’re nothing more than fledglings relying on brute strength.” “Tsk.

You really are a long-winded, self-righteous old fossil.” Poseidon’s smile vanished instantly.

“Go to hell.” As he spoke, he casually raised his middle finger.

Before his words had even finished echoing, the ground beneath his feet exploded.

Boom!

His figure shot forward with overwhelming speed and raw power, charging directly at Kronos.

“Though I don’t understand that gesture… I can tell it’s extremely offensive, my dear son.” A cold gleam flashed through Kronos’s eyes.

The Adamantine Scythe in his hand—the divine weapon that had once castrated the Sky Father and harvested the throne itself—expanded as it slashed toward Poseidon.

CLANG—!!

Fist met divine blade.

Flesh collided with a supreme divine artifact.

The impact sounded like two continents crashing together.

A devastating shockwave erupted outward, gouging several more feet into the battlefield and making even the distant mountains tremble.

This was nothing like Zeus’s earlier battle of desperate evasions.

This was the purest possible clash of power.

Authority against authority.

On one side stood Kronos—the Harvester, the Lord of Time, the king who had personally overthrown Uranus and brought the Age of the Sky to an end before forcing all the Titans beneath his rule.

On the other stood Poseidon—a monster who had spent countless years inside his father’s stomach tempering his divine body through relentless self-destruction until it reached an unimaginable level.

His divine power surged like a bottomless sea, already brushing against the authority of the Sea King.

Bang!

Bang!

Bang!

Bang!

Their collisions came one after another without pause.

Kronos swung his scythe, every slash imbued with the Authority of Harvest.

Wherever the blade passed, space itself seemed to split into thin black fractures.

Poseidon answered with nothing but his fists, wrapped in deep-blue divine light powerful enough to shatter stars.

Most shocking of all— The Adamantine Scythe, forged by Gaia herself from the hardest divine metal and capable of cutting through the bodies of even the mightiest Titans… …could do nothing more than throw off dazzling sparks when it struck Poseidon’s fists and forearms.

It couldn’t leave so much as a scratch.

“Impossible…” For the first time, genuine disbelief appeared on Kronos’s usually cold and majestic face.

“Even if you are my son… how did you temper your body to such a degree?

To withstand Gaia’s adamantine with your bare flesh?” “Hahahahaha!” Poseidon burst into laughter.

Seizing the opening, he threw a vicious hook toward Kronos’s face.

Kronos barely tilted his head aside in time.

The wind pressure alone scorched his cheek as the punch tore through empty air.

“That just proves every other god is too weak!” “Steel?

Divine weapons?” “They’re all just things meant to be broken before a body that’s been tempered to its absolute limit!” But Kronos had ruled an entire era.

Once his initial shock faded, every trace of contempt disappeared.

At last, he began displaying the true authority of the God of Agriculture and Time.

The glow surrounding the scythe darkened into something ominous.

Then— Slash!

A bloody wound finally opened across Poseidon’s arm.

Golden divine blood splattered through the air.

This wasn’t merely a physical wound.

It carried the Authority of Harvest itself.

It was as though the strength Poseidon had forged into that arm was being harvested like ripe fruit, making every future strike easier to land.

At the same time, Kronos began manipulating the localized flow of time around Poseidon.

The changes were subtle.

Not enough to affect the battlefield as a whole.

But every time the scythe descended, Poseidon’s reactions lagged by the tiniest fraction of a second.

In a battle between gods, such a delay was often the difference between victory and death.

Harvest and Time.

Combined together, Kronos became increasingly dangerous the longer the battle continued.

The harder Poseidon fought, the richer the “harvest” became.

The more he resisted, the deeper Kronos’s influence grew.

Damn… this is troublesome.

Poseidon frowned inwardly.

The old bastard was even more difficult to deal with than he’d expected.

His own Sea King authority hadn’t fully awakened yet.

Compared to Kronos’s mastery over his Divine Name, Poseidon’s use of authority was still crude.

If they continued exchanging blows head-on, the balance would inevitably tilt against him.

After all… Kronos was literally harvesting the power Poseidon had spent countless years forging.

“Hera!

I think you’ve enjoyed the show long enough!

Is that magic circle done warming up yet?!” Without the slightest hesitation, Poseidon retreated behind Zeus and shamelessly called for reinforcements.

Against an old schemer who swallowed his own children and played dead just to launch an ambush… Who cared about fighting fair?

Besides… Wasn’t one of a protagonist’s greatest qualities knowing when to throw honor out the window?

Just look at Kronos’s face.

It froze instantly.

Surely he hadn’t expected the children he’d imprisoned and tortured for all those years… …to still care about some noble father-and-son duel.

“Hah?

Wasn’t a certain blue-haired idiot just acting like he could handle everything by himself?

Giving up already?” Hera’s tongue remained as sharp as ever.

Her hands, however, never stopped moving.

Crimson magical radiance flowed between her fingers like living flames, instantly completing the final rune.

“Hera, I call this adapting to the situation.” “It’s a lot more honorable than someone hiding in the shadows waiting to steal the kill.” “Argh!” Before Poseidon could finish speaking— Hades struck.

Like a ghost emerging from darkness, he appeared behind Kronos and delivered a vicious blow.

“Shut up.” “When it comes to being shameless and underhanded… no one here can compare to you, Poseidon.” Half of Hades’s body emerged from the shadows as he officially entered the battle.

His fighting style was the complete opposite of Poseidon’s.

Where Poseidon was overwhelming force… Hades embodied perfect assassination.

He never confronted Kronos head-on.

His figure flickered endlessly between shadows, each appearance accompanied by deathly divine power as he relentlessly targeted Kronos’s blind spots and exposed openings.

“Ha!

Hades, how is that shameless?” Poseidon laughed.

“The truly shameless one is our ‘dear father,’ using his fully awakened Divine Name to bully children who haven’t even reached adulthood.” “And besides—” With Hades sharing the pressure, Poseidon became even more aggressive.

His fists grew fiercer with every strike.

A wild grin spread across his face.

“This is war.” “This is revenge.” “Who the hell cares about fighting fair?!” “Hmm… Poseidon rarely says anything sensible.” Hera nodded faintly.

“This truly is nothing more than an adult shamelessly bullying children.” “We’re simply a group of bullied children defending ourselves.” With those words, she thrust both hands forward.

Buzz—!

Countless crimson magic circles materialized out of thin air.

Layer upon layer.

They instantly sealed off the entire battlefield around Kronos.

Binding.

Weakening.

Divine power disruption.

Elemental chaos.

An intricate web of battlefield magic erupted all at once, like chains forged specifically to imprison the Titan King.

Floating gracefully in midair, crimson hair blazing like fire, Hera watched the battlefield with icy satisfaction.

“Poseidon is right.” Demeter’s gentle voice followed.

Standing nearby with both palms pressed against the earth, she released a tide of pale golden divine power.

The ground beneath Kronos instantly turned into divine quicksand.

Countless incredibly tough roots burst upward, wrapping tightly around his legs.

They weren’t meant to injure him.

Only to hinder his movements.

The earth continuously poured the concepts of growth and stagnation back into Kronos’s body, disrupting the flow of his divine power.

“Exactly.” Hestia spoke softly as well.

Opening her palm, she summoned a small white flame that burned with warm, eternal radiance.

A strange halo spread outward.

Within its reach, Kronos’s control over localized time visibly weakened.

The once-raging current of temporal authority became as calm and sluggish as a still lake.

Poseidon.

Hades.

Hera.

Demeter.

Hestia.

For the first time, the five siblings fought together beneath the open sky.

The coordination and overwhelming combat power they displayed stunned every witness present.

Earlier, Poseidon alone had managed to fight Kronos to a standstill with nothing but his monstrous physique.

Now, with all five working together from different angles, Kronos was immediately forced onto the defensive.

True.

His Divine Name was complete.

His authority was mature.

His mastery was flawless.

But each of the five siblings possessed terrifying talent.

More importantly, the combat instincts they had forged through countless years of fighting one another inside that dark prison far surpassed those of ordinary gods.

Demeter bound and eroded.

Hestia neutralized Time itself.

Hera overwhelmed the battlefield with relentless magic.

Hades struck from every blind spot.

And Poseidon stood at the very front, taking the greatest burden upon himself while unleashing fists capable of shattering everything before them.

Against the combined assault of all five… Kronos’s divine power dwindled rapidly.

His injuries multiplied.

Even the Authority of Harvest began to falter under their relentless interference.

Finally— “ARGH!” The moment Kronos attempted to forcibly reverse time, Hestia’s sacred flame disrupted his authority.

At that exact instant— Poseidon’s heavy fist smashed squarely into his chest.

Hades’s shadow blade carved across his ribs.

Hera’s explosive magic detonated behind his back.

Golden divine blood burst from Kronos’s mouth as he staggered backward.

Pain and fury twisted his handsome features.

His venomous gaze swept across the five rebellious children who had driven him into such a miserable state, lingering especially on Poseidon and Hera, as though he wished to carve their faces into the depths of his soul forever.

“Hmph!” “You rebellious brats!” “Do you really think this is over?!” “I am Kronos!” “The King of Time!” “Today’s humiliation…” “…will be repaid a hundredfold!”
