“Now, for the assets of the StagHart family.” She started as she brought another file, one that had nine pieces of papers and thus nine assets.
“The first is Skokholm island.
Half of the island is hidden behind wards and is the possession of the StagHart family.
Despite the years, no one has managed to break through the wards and while no one knows what is hidden behind, it is surely important, which is one of the reasons so many lords are currently interested in you.” She said with a smile as she turned the page to the next one.
“The second and third one are two large shops in Diagon Alley and Shadow Alley respectively.
Shadow Alley is the middle ground between Diagon Alley and Knockturn Alley.
There are some dark magical items and the ministry turns a blind eye to it and you can find pretty much anything you want in there.
However, just like with your Arden assets, the two pieces of land have been taken by others and are currently operating on it.
Amongst it, the Magical Material Trader Shop jointly heralded by three lower-class noble families and plenty of smaller wizard investors who have tried at repetition to take over the land for themselves without success.” Stated Arkor as she noticed the recognition of the name in the young boy’s eyes.
It was the same shop that had tried to take advantage of him.
He’d make sure to get back every penny from them since he had the chance.
“Next is your largest asset.
A large-scale magic stone mine.
It seems that the previous lords of the StagHart family completely closed it behind wards when they noticed their family growing weaker and being unable to hold onto it.
It won’t however be a problem on this day as long as you back yourself with the right laws.
For this, however, I recommend that you get a lawyer for yourself.
However, we have more important things to do so it would perhaps be best to think about it during your next year’s break or this winter’s Christmas vacation.
I have additional news about this mine however, it seems that some of the wards are failing and as such some people have managed to invade and bring back some items from the mine.
However, it seems that the quantity was small and more than a few entered to never come out.
We don’t know if they died inside or are still in there.” She said as she offered to push it to his next vacation.
He already had a lot on his plate and without knowing anything, it was advisable not to reopen it simply by the fact that more experienced lords would take advantage of him to take over everything.
“You have yet another mid-sized mine but the few ones who managed to go through don’t seem to have left alive.
It is believed that there are dangerous magical beasts hidden inside which caused most to simply stop their tentative invasion due to the danger and huge cost of breaking the wards.” She added as a small note as she moved on to the four remaining properties.
“Finally, you have two mansions.
One in France and another at the edge of Dale.
Both are filled with wards and hidden behind them but both should also be in dire need of repairs.
Following them are two large greenhouses in Wykeham Forest and in Devon.
However, after many years, it is almost confirmed that all plants have spread and no one knows what remains exactly.” With this, she finally stopped talking, allowing Lux to review the various files before closing them.
“Alright, for the shops, I believe you know the right people to contact in order to get back my money?” He asked as she nodded, a grin appearing on her face.
“It would be my pleasure.
After all, as a new banker, she had to prove herself to the noble who dared to trust her.
“Do you have any preferences for your lawyer?” She asked inquisitively.
“Someone who knows our laws properly and isn’t part of a noble family would be great.” He started as she nodded her head.
She would find one and take care of everything until he came back from Hogwarts.
After all, according to the speed of the ministry, it would take more than a few months to get the situation sorted.
“As for everything else, I won’t do anything for the moment since I don’t have the right information.
Let’s go to my vaults.” He said in an adult way as he had long since matured, living alone in a dangerous cave in the mountain wall.
He had to grow up quickly and while he was yet to be an adult, his thinking was certainly more mature, around the same age as someone of sixteen or seventeen years old.
“Sure.” She smiled as she got up from her seat, storing under lock the files in a small safe in her office, the name on the safe having the name of Arden and StagHart.
Following the young goblin out of her office, a few older goblins who were working gave them a quick glance.
They were distracted as they often looked around, searching for the new lord yet completely ignoring a child, unknowing that it was indeed him.
They would only receive the news that evening when Arkor followed the rules and reported to the bank management that she had been chosen by the new lord.
Taking a minecart which was certainly not built by an engineer, he finally arrived at his vaults, his face slightly green.
Yet, it was still not as bad as using a portkey.
At least, he didn’t have the urge to vomit after the transportation.
“We have arrived at the vaults of Arden.” Said Arkor as she moved to the side.
“To open the vault, you need to place your family ring on the door.
Once inside, you should find your vault key.
I will wait on the side.
Call me if there is anything you need my assistance for.” She completed as she waited, allowing him to unlock and enter his family’s vault.
“Alright.” He nodded as even he was aware that the contents of the vault weren’t to be shared publicly.
Placing his ring in the small protrusion on the vault door, a click resounded followed by a few dozen more as the door seemingly retracted on itself only opening a small hole the size of an adult which he quickly walked through as a shield appeared outside the door, blocking the sight and entry of anyone else.
Looking around, the first thing that appeared in his view was certainly the large amount of gold galleons.
With a large pile of galleons, an even bigger pile of sickles and an even greater pile of knuts, he instantly knew that the amount of galleons he had spent for his suitcase were nothing compared to his inherited wealth.
To the side were many treasures stored on the shelves.
However, once again, they were merely material treasures such as gold cups, diamond crowns and more.
They most likely had some significance for the members of the Arden family and were considered commonly passed down relics.
As for the moment, they just looked good.
Finally, his true interest was captivated as he saw a bookshelf filled with three dozen grimoires, each certainly representing a certain piece of magic developed by the family.
He would make sure to master them as soon as possible.
Looking around and simply seeing plenty of other magical items, none he really understood the use for, he called for Arkor out of the vault.
“Arkor, is there a way to rapidly calculate the money I have in my vault?” He asked as she replied as if expecting the question while walking in front of the gate yet seeing nothing only bringing an item in front of her.
“This is a magical money scanner.
Goblins use it to calculate the amount of galleons, sickles and knuts in front of them.
You can use it to find the total amount of money in your vault.” She explained as Lux’s eyes lit up.
“Thanks, give me a minute, I’m almost done.” He said with a grin as she merely nodded.
She had nothing else to do anyway, her entire work revolved around Lux himself as he was the sole vault owner she worked for even if he himself had three vaults, his personal one, the Arden and the StagHart vault.
Walking back inside, he immediately activated the scanner as the numbers continuously jumped before finally stopping.
Galleons: 41’127
Sickles: 78’526
Knuts: 109’545
‘Hum, not as much as expected.
However, when taking into consideration that the last lord of the family lived almost five centuries ago, this was a true fortune.’ He thought, happy to know how much he had.
He didn’t know how much it would help with his goal of restarting his family’s business but at least it would certainly help.
From what he knew from Arkor, the 3000 Galleons he had left behind during his previous visit to Gringotts had been placed in this exact vault.
Writing down the number on a piece of paper, he resetted the numbers and walked out of the vault.
“We can head to StagHart’s vault now.” He said as she nodded her head without asking how much money he had despite being slightly curious.
After all, it wasn’t everyday that a lord reopened a vault that had been closed for centuries.
With yet another exhausting minecart ride, they arrived in front of the vault where he used the same process to access.
‘Hum, this one is different.’ He noticed as there wasn’t much money at all and few were treasures.
Instead, there were only a few extremely precious items properly stored on the shelves making the vault look a lot cleaner yet emptier.
Galleons: 7966
Sickles: 22’152
Knuts: 41’798
‘Alright in terms of money I have nearly 50,000 Galleons without counting the sickles and knotts.
It should allow me to start the reparations of at least a few projects.
Next, let’s see what those things are.’ He thought as he approached a single egg, a small and dying tree sapling and a letter.
You can leave them here, I’ll take care of them for you, your welcome.
