Although the sound was extremely faint, it still gave Ternas some sense of what had happened.
He looked up at the door in front of him in confusion.
Seeing that it had already opened, Ternas was quite surprised.
“Neville, how did this door open?
Did you see it?” Ternas couldn’t help throwing the question to Neville, hoping to find an answer from him.
Neville was also completely bewildered.
He had indeed seen it.
He had seen the exact moment the door opened.
But honestly, Neville had no idea how the door had opened.
When it opened, there had been no warning whatsoever.
It had simply opened out of nowhere.
Neville spoke timidly, “Cousin, I don’t know either.
It just suddenly opened.
I didn’t see what happened.” Looking at Neville’s confused expression, Ternas knew there was no answer to be found from him, so he stopped dwelling on it.
Instead, he reached out and pushed open the already-open door.
Ternas went first, with Neville following behind.
The two of them carefully made their way into the room.
At first, because they had suddenly gone from a brightly lit area into darkness, their eyes had not yet adjusted.
They could barely see anything.
But after their eyes gradually adapted to the darkness, the light shining in through the doorway allowed them to make out the layout of the room.
It was an extremely spacious room.
There was nothing particularly unusual about it at first glance.
Most of the room was occupied by bookshelves, with countless books arranged upon them.
Judging from the condition of the shelves and the books, they should all have been magical books, and most of them appeared to be extremely rare single copies.
Many of the books bore the marks left behind by the passage of time, making them look extremely ancient.
The books completely filled three enormous bookshelves.
Even with only a rough estimate, there had to be at least a thousand books here.
Finally, Ternas understood.
This was probably the foundation that had allowed the Longbottom family to become one of the Twenty-Eight Sacred Families.
The books here were extraordinarily rare and precious, scarcely found anywhere else in the outside world.
The knowledge recorded within them had been accumulated by the ancestors of the Longbottom family through countless efforts and hundreds or even thousands of years of collecting.
It would not be an exaggeration to say that these books were closely tied to the inheritance of the Longbottom family.
Of course, the things stored here were not limited to the thousand or so books on the three bookshelves.
There were also many other things.
Some individual display stands held objects that Ternas did not recognize, yet he could somehow sense that they were far from ordinary.
These should be some of the Longbottom family’s collections.
Some were probably valuable and rare antiques, while others were extremely precious and powerful magical items.
This room could be said to be the very foundation of the Longbottom family.
It was no wonder that their elders had previously forbidden them from approaching this place casually.
After all, this place could be considered the lifeline of the Longbottom family.
Looking at the layout and surroundings, Ternas became somewhat excited.
During the previous few years, he had come into contact with knowledge and products from the magical world, but they had all been relatively basic things.
He had never encountered anything particularly profound.
Now that he had finally gotten the chance to see these things, how could Ternas not be excited?
Unable to contain himself, Ternas took a few steps farther into the room, wanting to get a closer look at the collections.
However, there was no lighting in the room at all.
Previously, the only reason they had been able to vaguely make out the layout was because of the light coming through the doorway.
Now that he had walked farther inside, the light from the entrance was clearly no longer enough.
This made Ternas, who wanted to carefully examine the room, rather frustrated.
He thought to himself that it would be great if there were some light.
That single thought led him to witness an incredibly magical scene.
With just a thought from Ternas, a milky-white sphere of light suddenly appeared out of thin air in front of him, quietly floating there.
The sudden appearance of this scene startled Ternas, whose soul was already more than twenty years old.
He instinctively backed away several steps in shock before finally steadying himself.
Of course, the reason he was able to calm down so quickly was that he suddenly remembered that this was the world of Harry Potter, a world where magic existed.
Therefore, there was nothing particularly surprising about what had just happened.
Instead, after discovering that he could make things happen simply by thinking about them, he suddenly remembered something.
Wasn’t this precisely what the wizards of this world called accidental magic?
Clearly, the reason he had been able to enter this room earlier was because of his accidental magic.
Without realizing it, his mental power had, guided by his thoughts, drawn upon his magic and helped him open the tightly closed door.
And now it was the same.
Under the influence of his mental power, his magic had formed a sphere of light in front of him to illuminate the room.
Looking at the miraculous scene before him, Ternas reached out toward the small sphere of light.
When his hand touched the sphere, there was no tangible sensation at all.
It was as though he had touched a mass of air.
It had neither a physical form nor any temperature.
After carefully observing the little sphere of light for a while, Ternas began trying to control it, attempting to make it move according to his thoughts.
Just as Ternas had expected, the little sphere was very disobedient at first.
But after gradually figuring out the trick, he slowly began to make it move.
Ternas also discovered that the little sphere was not moving because of the movement of his hand.
Instead, it moved according to his thoughts, following wherever his mind directed it.
After mastering this trick, Ternas began controlling the little sphere of light and moving it wherever he wanted.
Moreover, after becoming familiar with this feeling, Ternas found that he could not only control its movement, but also its size and brightness.
It was truly miraculous, and even Ternas found himself completely immersed in it.
