“If you’re here to apologize, then save it.” Selena Sinclair deliberately raised her voice, her expression as calm as ever, as she reached to close the door.

Sylas Vaughn adjusted his cuffs, staring straight ahead without a glance in Selena Sinclair’s direction.

He said coldly, “I told you.Full novel: He Made Me a Joke, I Made Him a Stranger — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Even if we’re getting a divorce, we have to do it face-to-face.

And without my consent, don’t even think about escaping.”

His face darkened as he turned to glare at her, his tone icy.

“What is this supposed to be?

You think you can just throw a divorce agreement at me and end everything between us?

Who do you think I am?”

Selena Sinclair raised an eyebrow, her voice cold.

“Oh?

And here I was, thinking this is what you’ve wanted all along.

I just did it to give you a little ‘surprise’.”

“I guess I was just getting ahead of myself.

Or is it that the great President Vaughn doesn’t want to divorce me after all?

What’s wrong?

Don’t you want to marry Hannah Hayes anymore?”

“Selena Sinclair, you’d better take back what you just said before I lose my temper.” He glared at her, the need for control in his eyes intensifying.

“You know, you can’t take back water that’s already been spilled.

It’s just like you—once I’ve thrown you in the trash, is there any reason to fish you back out?”

Selena Sinclair, not to be outdone, delivered each word with resounding force, her presence no less imposing than Sylas Vaughn’s.

‘There was no need to be polite to a man so unfaithful and unreasonable.’

As she spoke, Sylas Vaughn’s expression visibly grew even more grim.

He whipped his head around, his bloodshot eyes glaring fiercely at her.

The determination and arrogance in her eyes were suddenly jarring, fanning the flames of his irritation.

‘Since when did she dare to speak to him with an attitude like that?’

On reflection, he realized he had never truly understood the unpredictable woman before him; he was completely oblivious to her innermost needs.

“Selena Sinclair, I see you’re itching for a beating.

After all this time, it looks like I really need to teach you a lesson.”

‘If it weren’t for all these people watching,’ he thought, ‘I would never let her off this easily.’

Selena Sinclair quickly looked up.

His sharp eyes, gleaming with a grim light, felt like a heavy stone crashing down on her, making her heart clench painfully.

Then, he lifted his wrist to glance at his watch, no longer wanting to waste words on her.

“I’ll give you one final minute to think it over.

Either I have someone tie you up and drag you back, or you come with me quietly.”

Selena Sinclair gritted her teeth, her eyes sweeping over Sylas Vaughn’s chiseled features.

She knew all too well how tyrannical he was.

Whether in business or in matters of the heart, his word was law, and it could not be questioned.

He had little patience to begin with, and his need to control her was so absolute that he wouldn’t permit a single word of dissent.

It was a rare miracle he was even willing to give her a minute to think.

Fury surged through Selena Sinclair.

“Sylas Vaughn, is there something wrong with you?

On one hand, you want to make things official with Hannah Hayes, but on the other, you want to chain me down?”

“You must be used to having a foot in both camps, so much so that you can’t even tell which side you’re on.

We’re already divorced, so please stop interfering in my life!”

Sylas Vaughn continued to stare at his watch as if he hadn’t heard Selena Sinclair at all.

A few seconds later, he frowned and said, “You have twenty seconds left.”

“Sylas Vaughn!” Selena Sinclair was about to snap.

The passersby who witnessed this scene were all dumbfounded.

It was like a scene out of a movie.

They had never witnessed such a fiery confrontation before.
