Darkness filled the warehouse.
Nora clutched the letter as she heard footsteps approaching quickly.
Yeonho said in a firm voice:
“Hide behind the boxes!”
He grabbed Nora’s hand and led her to a far corner, while Taeho disappeared into the shadows.
A few moments later, the warehouse door was forced open.
Three men in black clothes entered.
One of them turned on a flashlight and said:
“Search for the box!”
Nora held her breath.
She could hear her heartbeat clearly.
The men began searching the place, but they found nothing.
Yeonho had hidden the files and the box quickly before they arrived.
And suddenly…
She quickly picked it up before anyone noticed.
And when she shone her phone light on it, she froze in place.
It was an old photo of her father.
But he wasn’t alone.
He was standing next to another man.
The man’s face was torn out of the photo, as if someone had deliberately hidden it.
Nora whispered:
“Who is this?”
Taeho came closer and looked at the photo.
His expression changed instantly.
He said in a low voice:
“Impossible…”
Nora turned to him quickly.
“You know him, don’t you?”
He was silent for a moment, then said:
“This is the person your father was afraid of.”
A shiver ran through Nora’s body.
Yeonho answered:
“Because someone doesn’t want anyone to know who he is.”
At that moment, the men left the warehouse after failing to find the box.
Silence returned.
Nora took the photo and turned it over.
On the back was an old date and just one word written in her father’s handwriting:
“Be careful.”
She looked at Yeonho and Taeho.
Then she said:
“I want to know who the missing face belongs to.”
But Taeho looked more worried than ever.
And he said:
“If we find out who he is…
our whole lives could change.”
