Nora couldn’t sleep that night.
The photo of the unknown man and her father’s letter kept running through her mind nonstop.
She sat on her bed and read the letter again.
But this time she noticed something strange.
At the bottom of the page there were faint words that were barely visible.
She quickly shone her lamp on them.
Then she read:
“If this letter ever disappears…
search the old house.”
Her eyes widened.
“The old house?”
The next morning, she met Yeonho and Taeho.
She told them what she had discovered.
Taeho said immediately:
“Your father owned an old house outside the city.”
Nora asked in surprise:
“How do you know that?”
He hesitated a little, then said:
“I knew your father more than you think.”
A new unknown message came in.
She opened it quickly.
And it said:
“Stop searching.”
Then another photo arrived.
Nora gasped.
It was a photo of her house.
Taken just minutes ago.
She felt scared.
“They’re watching me!”
Yeonho took the phone and looked at the photo.
Then his face changed suddenly.
“This is bad.”
“What’s wrong?”
He zoomed in on the photo and pointed to a distant corner.
A person wearing a black coat.
But the surprise wasn’t that.
He was holding the same old photo with the missing face.
Taeho whispered:
“We found the owner of the photo…”
Nora asked quickly:
“Who is it?”
But before he could answer…
They heard a loud explosion outside.
The windows shook violently.
They ran toward the street.
And froze in their places.
The old house they had planned to go to was being engulfed by flames.
Yeonho looked at the fire and said in shock:
“They got there before us…”
As for Nora, she felt like every clue she was getting close to was starting to disappear one by one.
And in the middle of the fire…
She saw a shadow standing for a moment, then disappearing.
As if he was watching them.
