Another year passed, and I was now attending elementary school.
Honestly, it was kind of boring being in a classroom full of kids who screamed, yelled, and talked about weird things they saw on TV.
I mostly kept to myself during class, though I still tried making friends so my ‘parents’ wouldn’t worry and so I’d have something to talk about with them.
Lately, I’d been cooking up a plan—mostly because I had accumulated way too much boredom and needed something to do.
And today was the day I was going to execute it!
For the past month, I’d been studying the area around my elementary school, committing as much as I could to memory.
From all the walks and outings I’d had with both Hikari and Sei, I knew where Hikari waited to pick me up, which streets were safe, and, most importantly, how far I could wander before she started worrying but didn’t call the police.
Today…
I was going to meet Izuku Midoriya.
In the original story, Denki never met Izuku before UA, but I wanted to start changing things early to get a better outcome in the end.
The plan was simple: show up where Izuku usually stayed after school.
That park near his home where he wrote hero analysis notes.
The only problem?
I didn’t go to his school.
I wasn’t even close.
So the “ACCIDENTAL LOST KID” plan was born
~~~~~
School ended with kids pouring out the front gate like a stampede.
Hikari usually waited on the sidewalk, but she was talking to another parent.
Perfect.
I slipped into the crowd, taking the crosswalk instead of heading toward her.
I walked fast but made sure it still looked like a confused, wandering-kid pace.
Just a five-year-old too curious for his own good.
Every now and then I stopped, looked around, and mumbled loudly, “Um… Mommy?” Just in case an adult noticed.
No one did, good
I sprinted down three blocks down, turned left, crossed another street, and followed the route I memorized from my fake ‘bathroom emergency walks’ I was full of energy zooming through the crowd like a little lightning bolt
I kept my speed just barely above average for a kid my age in case someone accused me of ‘quirk usage in public’.
Maintaining it was far too easy.
After almost five full years of lightning tempering, I might already be as strong as an adult.
After what I calculated to be about ten minutes of running, Hikari would probably start wondering if I was still in the bathroom or helping clean up the classroom.
Good.
That gave me enough time.
Soon, the familiar little park came into view.
A group of kids were walking away from the sandbox area, laughing loudly.
On the ground, bruised and wiping dirt off his notebook, was one small green-haired boy.
Found him.
Now time to make some adjustments to the story.
I walked up with the most friendly grin I could manage—something bright enough that adults wouldn’t assumed I was lost, just overly social
“Hey!” I said cheerfully, stopping in front of him.
“Are you okay? That looked kinda rough.”
Izuku froze like a startled puppy.
“O–Oh! I-I’m fine!” he said quickly, standing up and brushing off his sleeves.
“It happens all the time—uh, I mean—well—not all the time—”
I laughed lightly “it’s fine, you don’t have to explain anything to me. Those guys looked dumb anyway”
“I’m Denki Kaminari! Want to be friends?”
Straight to the point—couldn’t waste too much time unless Hikari really did call the police on her “missing” child.
I stretched out my hand for a handshake and tried to radiate as much confidence and friendliness as possible..
my goal was simple make Izuku comfortable, fast.
Izuku’s eyes widened like I’d just offered him a rare All Might collectible “R-Really?”
Before he could say anything more, an angry voice ripped through the air.
“OI! WHO THE HELL ARE YOU?!”
Great, Here comes the walking exploding pomeranian with anger issues.
…Could I fix him?
No.
No, definitely not.
That’s a future project maybe, but not today.
Katsuki stormed toward us, eyes narrowing the moment he saw Izuku smiling at someone who wasn’t terrified of him.
“What’s this dumb hair doing here? Haven’t seen you around before. You from a different school or something?”
Rude as ever, Bakugo.
Yeah, reforming him’s gonna be a long-term side quest.
I flashed him a bright grin.
“Yep! I’m visiting. Is there a reason I shouldn’t be here?”
Katsuki blinked.
Kids didn’t usually talk back to him.
Izuku panicked, waving his hands.
“K-Kacchan, we were just t-talking—”
Katsuki ignored him.
“Why’re you talking to Deku anyway? He’s quirkless.”
Izuku froze.
I let out a mental sigh not from what Bakugo said (I already knew that) but from just how casually and certain he said that.
Like I realize I was talking to some kind of monster and run away
Turning towards Izuku to stare at him “Quirkless, huh?” I said gently.
Izuku flinched.
“I-I—it’s okay, I—”
“That’s fine no big deal!”
He blinked.
“…huh?”
I stood up straight.
“Means you’re doing all that hero note stuff with no powers backing you up. That’s real strength.”
Izuku looked like he might cry on the spot hearing that.
{please don’t I can’t keep draining the area because of this}
Katsuki scowled.
“Tch. Don’t say stupid crap. Quirkless freaks can’t be heroes. And anyone who hangs out with him is just as dumb.”
I turned to him slowly.
“Oh?”I smiled sweetly.
“You wanna say that again you little pomeranian”
Katsuki didn’t hesitate—he sprang at me with a small explosive pop from his palm.
Izuku yelped.
“Kacchan, stop!” But Katsuki wasn’t listening.
He swung.
Wild.
Angry.
Predictable.
I sidestepped easily—too easily, so I made sure to stumble a little at the end to keep it believable.
Katsuki spun, tried again.
I ducked.
Again.
I stepped back.
Again.
I tilted my head slightly, letting his tiny explosion brush past my cheek.
“Oooh, that almost got me,” I teased.
Katsuki snarled, swinging full-force with a small detonation.
I stepped in, tapped his wrist aside with my forearm, a basic motion, nothing fancy and flicked his forehead with one finger.
Thwip.
“OW! WHAT THE—?!”
He toppled backward onto the dirt, more from shock than impact.
Izuku stared, speechless.
I crossed my arms.
“See? You don’t need a quirk to win.”
Katsuki glared up at me, face red, anger evident “You-you didn’t use yours?!”
“Yeah” I raise my hands forming arks of electricity “i didn’t need it” I said with a smug grin
For a moment, he didn’t say anything.
Then—
“SHUT UP!” he roared, scrambling to his feet.
But he didn’t attack again and just walked away
I turned back to Izuku with a grin.
“So! Still want to be friends?”
Izuku nodded weakly.
“Y-Yeah… I’d really like that.”
I smiled “Great! Also do you have a phone I could borrow?”
“No but my mom has one if you need to make a call”
“Perfect!
Lead the way!
This is a matter of life a death for me!
And just like that—
I’d changed something.
Something small, but important.
~~~~~
We see a kid walking down the halls with his eyes closed, occasionally bumping into someone but apologizing right after.
He has yellow hair, some visible muscle starting to form—nothing too much for his age.
He was humming to a song only he knew with his electricity dancing to every word and beat underneath his uniform.
He still had some baby fat along his face, but anyone could tell that as he got older he was going to be a real looker
Denki was now a little over 9 years old and had once again found himself bored out of his mind.
After the incident where he met Izuku for the first time, he was immediately lectured and grounded
It was a new experience for him.
He never had parents in his original life, so being disciplined felt…
weird.
Being grounded wasn’t all that bad—just stuck in his room without being allowed to play with any toys
Not that he usually played with them anyway.
He only touched them when one of them came by to keep him company.
So he doubled down on sneaking out to meet Izuku every few days, using his “grounded” time for extra training
Eventually, Hikari realized he kept going out to hang with Izuku for some reason and got in contact with Izuku’s mom so she would at least know where he was.
So now he didn’t need to sneak out—he just had to tell her, and she’d take him herself
Speaking of training, he was doing that right now.
Closing his eyes to cut off his vision, he tried using his other senses while lightly spreading his quirk from his feet to sense others—his own version of Observation Haki
It was working!
…Somewhat
As shown by how he kept bumping into people, but he was slowly getting better.
His range was small, and he couldn’t sense everything within it all the time, but he knew he would get better
Sadly, training wasn’t what bored him the most
SCHOOL
The bane of every student.
Even more so for him, since he was basically at the top of his entire school academically.
Classes felt like a waste of time, so he just lazed around all day, ignoring his complaining teachers
He’d never been good at following their instructions—why would he?
If he already knew everything they were teaching and more, what was the point?
Even Hikari and Sei eventually stopped nagging him, since he always brought home perfect scores on every test
Which brings us to now.
Walking home on his own, he didn’t head to the park or Izuku’s house to hang out.
Believe him—after a day surrounded by nagging teachers and kids he still couldn’t fully connect with, training with Izuku sounded way better
Oh yeah—he also managed to convince Izuku that not having a quirk wasn’t the end of the world.
He should focus on improving his physical abilities, skills, and sharpening his mind.
Izuku instantly agreed and started following him almost the same way he followed Bakugo in the show
Once Denki noticed that, he shut it down fast before it became a habit.
He didn’t want to babysit him all the time.
Izuku needed to grow on his own so he’d be confident in his strength, not believing he only got better by following him
By the time he stepped through the front door, he was already mentally drained.
School sucked the life out of me, and pretending to be a normal nine-year-old genius didn’t help.
Kicking off his shoes, tossing his bag onto the couch, and flopped face-first onto the carpet
Hikari peeked in from the kitchen.
“You’re home early. Rough day?”
I gave a muffled thumbs-up on the floor.
That seemed to be enough for her
When she went back to cooking, I rolled onto my back and stared at the ceiling
Another boring day
Same old teachers
Same old useless assignments
Same classmates who were either too loud or too confused by material I had already mastered years ago in my old life
But that wasn’t the real problem
I wasn’t meeting anyone new
In the original story, all the UA heroes had some type of connection to each other—some weak, some strong, some chaotic.
But they met people
Me?
I only had Izuku so far.
And Bakugo, but that barely counted
If I wanted to change the story, influence events, or strengthen the good guys early…
I needed to meet the rest of them.
Not at UA.
Not at the entrance exam
Now
I pushed myself up, sitting cross-legged on the floor
“…I need to switch schools.”
The idea hit me like a spark—simple, kind of stupid, but brilliant in its own kind of way
If I transferred around enough schools, to the schools I knew some attended sooner or later I’d run into someone from 1-A
Maybe Kirishima.
Maybe Toru.
Maybe Sero, Mina, Tsuyu…
someone had to be out there
All I needed was the right timing
I grinned to myself
“I can make it work.”
Hikari poked her head in again.
“Denki? Are you talking to yourself?”
“Nope! Just thinking.” I flashed her an innocent smile
She eyed me suspiciously, the ‘my son is planning something dangerous’ look she developed after the Izuku incident—then sighed and went back to cooking
I leaned back on my hands, excitement buzzing under my skin
If I played my cards right, transferred a few times, made it look like normal academic movement…
I might meet the rest of my future classmates before UA even entered the picture
This time, I wasn’t going to just follow the story
I was going to rewrite it from the ground up
