Stone Lion Ambushes and Crushes the Hidebehind
After already suffering once, it would never again recklessly step onto suddenly emerging ground spikes.
Although the injury to its right foot had slowed it considerably, the Hidebehind still charged with tremendous momentum.
Hermione watched it in fear.
She hadn’t expected the monster to still have the strength to continue attacking despite being injured so badly.
As the Hidebehind drew closer and closer to Blake, Hermione’s heart nearly leaped out of her chest.
Just then, an unremarkable boulder by the roadside suddenly began to change.
The hard rock rapidly twisted and extended, transforming in an instant into a roughly shaped stone lion!
The stone lion sprang forward and slammed into the Hidebehind from the side.
Because the Hidebehind had been watching the ground the entire time, it hadn’t noticed the stone beside the road at all.
The enormous stone lion knocked it to the ground and pinned it beneath its heavy body!
“Roar!”
The Hidebehind struggled frantically.
But the stone lion had been transformed from an entire boulder and was incredibly heavy.
And the most lethal attack was still to come.
“Crack!”
Although the stone lion’s shape wasn’t particularly refined, not a single tooth was missing.
It opened its rocky jaws, and its sharp teeth snapped shut, biting directly into the Hidebehind’s neck!
“Argh!”
The Hidebehind let out a scream of unbearable pain.
This time, despair finally appeared in its eyes.
Once again, it had fallen into a trap set by Blake.
The stone lion, temporarily created through Transfiguration, wasn’t particularly agile.
Even with the Hidebehind already injured, under normal circumstances, the stone lion would have had difficulty catching it, let alone accurately pinning it down.
But the Hidebehind had been completely focused on guarding against the ground.
Who would deliberately pay attention to an inconspicuous rock beside the road while charging?
That was precisely why the stone lion’s ambush succeeded so easily.
Hermione stared at the scene before her, her face filled with disbelief.
“This is… Transfiguration?”
Professor McGonagall had demonstrated this magic in front of her entire family.
But Professor McGonagall had clearly said that Transfiguration was complicated and required a long time to learn. New chapters come out on g.com first.
So why could a boy around her age not only use it, but use it so skillfully?
Could Blake actually have come from a wizarding family and simply been deliberately hiding his identity?
Hermione stared at him in shock.
[Ding! Detected an emotion of shock.]
[Ding! Drawing a chest for the host!]
[Ding! Congratulations, Host. You have obtained a Gold Chest!]
Blake, who had already taken control of the situation, immediately smiled when he heard the notification.
A Gold Chest!
This was the first time he had received a reward of this level since the system appeared.
And Hermione could provide a chest of such high quality.
If he encountered someone at Dumbledore’s level in the future, wouldn’t the rewards be even greater?
At the thought of this, Blake’s anticipation immediately soared.
But the stone lion remained firmly pressed against it, its sharp teeth still clamped around its neck without the slightest intention of loosening.
