As his previous memories continued to awaken, Anton still couldn’t clearly remember his past life.
However, he could vaguely sense certain fragments.
He carefully examined the situation on the screen.
The dark wizard with the blackened eye sockets was relentlessly attacking the white-robed sorcerer, his methods extremely vicious.
Kaecilius himself, however, had not made a move.
There was no need to say it.
This was clearly an elaborate trap designed to lure someone into taking action.
Behind him, several professors had already begun an intense discussion.
Although there was a fifty percent chance of getting the answer right, having two seemingly plausible choices actually made the decision even harder.
Snape pointed toward the screen.
“It’s an obvious provocation. If I were Anton, I would immediately call for reinforcements.”
Filius Flitwick, Head of Ravenclaw, nodded in agreement.
“Given the current situation, that really is the best option.”
“Preferably, he should join those two accompanying wizards and turn it into a four-on-three.”
After the short professor finished speaking, he turned toward McGonagall.
“Professor McGonagall, what do you think?”
McGonagall snorted.
“Have you noticed that four dark wizards are attacking an innocent person?”
“If a wand isn’t meant for stopping something like this, then we might as well throw it away.”
“And I believe Anton would do exactly that.”
Pomona nodded.
“Yes, yes.”
“If you don’t stop evil, what does it even mean to be a wizard?”
The four Heads of House had split into two camps.
They all turned their attention toward Anton and Dumbledore.
Although each of them had given their opinions based on their own reasoning, the two wizards who could truly determine the outcome were still Anton and Dumbledore.
Dumbledore said gently to Anton,
“They don’t agree.”
The moment Dumbledore said this, the professors fell silent.
Dumbledore stood up, his tall figure casting a shadow over the other four wizards.
“That tells us one thing.”
“My boy, whatever choice you make, there is logic behind it.”
“And whatever choice you make is one that others can accept.”
He walked over to Anton and gently leaned down.
“So, what do you think you would choose?”
Anton answered without hesitation,
“I would choose to step in.”
The moment he finished speaking, Professor McGonagall applauded enthusiastically.
“Well done.”
Flitwick also nodded repeatedly.
“Hmm. Not rational, but correct.”
Anton pointed toward Kaecilius on the screen.
“Because that man is simply asking to be beaten.”
Dumbledore burst into laughter.
“Very well said.”
“Then go write down your answer.”
As Anton wrote down the final answer, the scene on the screen began playing again.
The dark wizard’s blade repeatedly stabbed toward the white-robed sorcerer.
After only a few exchanges, the sorcerer was already nearly exhausted, having lost all ability to fight.
Kaecilius, meanwhile, stood some distance away, holding a blade and seemingly waiting for something.
The entire scene had transformed from a fight into a certain death trap.
And all of this was being witnessed by Strange from the staircase.
He hesitated for half a moment.
Then he clenched his fist and charged down the stairs.
“Stop!”
The three dark sorcerers froze when they saw Strange emerge from the shadows.
They simply couldn’t understand why anyone would step forward at a moment like this.
Cheers erupted outside the screen.
Excited, McGonagall rushed over, grabbed Anton, and shook him enthusiastically.
“A natural-born Gryffindor! Anton!”
“That half-second of hesitation made your courage all the more precious!”
“Well done!”
Dumbledore stood beside them, smiling as he applauded.
“I’m not surprised by your choice.”
“However, Minerva, Anton hasn’t even said which house he wants to join.”
“Aren’t you getting a little ahead of yourself?”
Only then did McGonagall release Anton and sheepishly walk away.
In the distance, Flitwick was also applauding Anton.
“Doing the right thing is more important than merely judging the situation.”
Snape shook his head self-deprecatingly.
“Regardless, we got the answer right.”
[Congratulations to Anton, Harry Potter, and Luna Lovegood for answering the question correctly!]
[Random reward is being drawn!]
….
Inside the common room.
Harry excitedly rubbed his hands together, waiting for his reward.
Beside him, Ron kept jumping around in excitement.
It was almost as though he had received a reward himself.
“He really did it! He really did it!”
“I bet Anton will definitely become an excellent Auror in the future!”
Hermione asked curiously,
“Ron, you just said Anton wouldn’t do it.”
Ron answered seriously,
“Because the situation was extremely dangerous. Don’t you remember our family motto?”
“Stay away from dangerous things.”
“But I didn’t expect Anton to be that brave.”
Hermione sighed.
“Whatever.”
She looked at Harry, who had fallen silent beside them.
“Harry, what did you receive?”
Harry looked at the old object lying on the table.
It looked like an old textbook.
An extremely old textbook.
The moment Hermione saw the book, she instinctively became focused.
She looked at the cover.
There was no name on it.
“What is this?”
Ron became excited.
“Could they have given you that magical tome?”
“The one that can control time?”
“That would be amazing, Harry!”
“I don’t know.”
Harry casually flipped open a page.
There were no words on it, only a series of photographs.
“Is this a photo album?”
A handsome man had his arm around a beautiful witch.
Both of them looked very young as they smiled at the camera.
Harry found the man strangely familiar.
Beside the photograph was a line of writing.
“Prongs thanks Padfoot for his gift and invites him to become little Harry’s godfather.”
“There is no one else in the world who could possibly be more qualified or suited to this role.”
“P.S. Lily likes him too.”
Tears began welling in Harry’s eyes.
He excitedly turned the page of the album and greedily looked through the photographs that followed.
Ron asked strangely,
“Harry, why are you crying?”
Harry answered calmly,
“The people in this album are my parents.”
….
Beneath the portrait of the Ravenclaw eagle.
Luna curiously weighed the object in her hand.
“Senior Cassandra.”
“That strange screen gave me a bottle of potion.”
“What is it for?”
“We haven’t learned about it in class yet.”
Cassandra only glanced at it before her face instantly turned red.
The pink potion.
The transparent bottle.
Wasn’t this Amortentia?!
She looked at Luna’s innocent expression.
She really didn’t want this little angel to come into contact with the more complicated aspects of the magical world so soon.
She casually said,
“This is something very expensive.”
“It can help you make lots and lots of friends.”
“You just need to put it in a drink and let someone drink it.”
Hearing this, Luna happily smiled.
She raised the Amortentia in front of Cassandra. Follow the newest chapters on g.com.
“Okay. Then I’ll give it to you, Senior.”
Cassandra’s face became even redder, and she hurriedly waved her hands.
“No, no, we’re already friends. We don’t need something like this.”
Luna raised the potion even higher.
“That’s even better. I want to be friends with you forever.”
“Come to think of it, I’ve never had a Slytherin friend before.”
Cassandra quickly pushed the potion aside.
“No, no.”
“It’s better to give it to a boy.”
“A boy?”
Luna scratched her blond hair.
Someone immediately came to mind.
Come to think of it, she had only received this potion thanks to that person.
“Hmm. I think I know who to give it to.”
….
Inside the Hogwarts entrance hall, Anton stood silently, watching the book in his hands.
Although the teachers were curious, respecting people’s privacy was one of Hogwarts’ fine traditions.
The Book of the Vishanti.
Come to think of it, Anton found the name of this book rather familiar.
But he couldn’t identify it.
To be safe, he didn’t open it recklessly.
After all, there had already been the precedent of the monster book chasing people around.
He had no intention of going through the experience of being chased by a book a second time.
Beside him, Dumbledore raised a magnifying glass and examined the cover.
An expression of surprise appeared on his face.
When it came to reading, Dumbledore had been the school’s top student year after year.
Just like Professor Flitwick, the dueling champion, this was one of his lesser-known secrets.
He had seen countless magical books.
Some could bite people.
Some had curses placed on every page.
Some would kill you the moment you opened them.
But he had never seen a magical book like this one.
Its pages were completely protected by the most complicated and profound forms of Light Magic.
Its defensive capabilities were even comparable to those of Gringotts.
Most importantly, the book seemed to contain a self-sustaining cycle.
The magic within it would automatically generate and innovate, and as new magic was generated, new pages would also appear in the book.
In other words, this book was like a perpetual-motion machine, endlessly producing more.
Its contents could never truly be read in their entirety.
“I suspect this is an encyclopedia of Light Magic.”
“It automatically records every form of Light Magic in the world and incorporates it into itself.”
“The person who compiled this book possesses extraordinarily powerful magic.”
Hearing this, all the teachers looked envious.
This was a complete encyclopedia of Light Magic!
It contained magic from ancient and modern times, from every corner of the world!
Who wouldn’t want to possess something like this if they were a wizard?
At the same time, however, it made perfect sense that something like this had ended up in Anton’s hands.
Anton casually shrank the book and slipped it into his pocket.
“Thank you for the explanation, Headmaster.”
Dumbledore nodded happily.
“Excellent, Anton. This object will serve a greater purpose in your hands.”
“However, I’m even more curious about the situation of that brave man on the screen.”
Only then did everyone shift their attention away from the book Anton had received.
Come to think of it, although Anton possessed tremendous magical power, his actual dueling experience was extremely limited.
If he really had to face three dark sorcerers wielding magical blades, the outcome was still uncertain.
It was like asking a wizard who had just learned Expelliarmus to face someone using Avada Kedavra.
Whether in terms of spellcasting or mentality, he had no advantage over opponents with far more experience.
At the thought of this, everyone’s hearts tightened once again.
Especially since there was still one dark wizard who had yet to make a move.
They looked toward the screen again.
And on the screen,
Strange had already assumed a fighting stance.
He was ready to strike at any moment.
