On the fifth day’s Parting Sorrow, around evening time, Mortis returned.

The moment she entered, she saw Lucian teaching her daughter how to draw.

The two of them looked so close that they seemed like the real family, while she was merely the stepmother…Full novel: Honkai Star Rail: The Writer Who Rewrote — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

“I’ve only been gone for five days.

How come I feel like there’s no place for me in this family anymore?” She couldn’t help feeling puzzled.

“Did you take care of everything?” Lucian’s concerned voice sounded.

Tribios immediately raised her head.

As soon as she saw her mother, she ran over like a little butterfly.

“Mom!” Mortis affectionately picked up her daughter, and mother and daughter pressed their faces together in an intimate embrace.

Seeing this, Lucian quickly stood up, intending to leave and give the mother and daughter some private family time.

As for the current situation in Yanis City, he didn’t care.

“She missed you very much.

Spend some more time with her.” Lucian smiled at Mortis, then rubbed the little girl’s head before turning around and leaving.

“Mom, can Big Brother Lucian sleep with us?

I like sleeping with him.” Tribios’s single sentence made both Lucian and Mortis feel slightly awkward.

Although they both understood that children spoke without thinking, hearing it aloud still felt a little strange.

“But my good girl, the bed at home is very small.

How about we invite him after we get a bigger bed?” Mortis was simply trying to coax her daughter, but to Lucian’s ears, the words seemed to carry another kind of signal.

“All right…” Tribios pouted in disappointment, then looked toward Lucian and waved.

“Big Brother Lucian, see you tomorrow!” Lucian smiled and replied: “See you tomorrow.” After saying that, he left the room.

As soon as he closed the door, he heard their conversation from inside.

Tribios: “Mom, can I go to work with you tomorrow?” Mortis: “Oh?

Why do you want to work?” Tribios: “Big Brother Lucian said you’re working very hard.

So I want to help share some of your burden.” Mortis: “Thank you, my good girl, but you can’t yet.

There are still some bad people who haven’t been driven away.

They might hurt you.” Tribios: “Why don’t you let Big Brother Lucian drive them all away?” Mortis: “Big Brother Lucian likes you, and he likes me too.

But we can’t take advantage of his affection and keep asking him for things.

Affection should go both ways.

He gives so much to us, so we should also give back to him with gratitude.

Remember that?” Tribios: “Okay, Mom.

I’ll remember.” Tribios: “Then could you buy me a colored pencil?

I want to draw a picture and give it to him.

I also want to tell him, ‘Thank you for liking me.'” Mortis: “Of course, my good girl.” Lucian hadn’t even managed to walk away before he heard the entire conversation.

He smiled knowingly, feeling a warm sensation in his heart.

After all, from the very beginning, he had never expected anything in return.

He had simply treated this place like a game: complete the script, leave, and receive the reward for clearing it.

Yet now, he had unexpectedly begun to feel reluctant to leave.

“I’ve become sentimental too.” He mocked himself softly.

Unable to suppress the smile at the corners of his mouth, he left through the secret passage.

Lucian’s room was much larger, luxurious would not be an exaggeration.

After all, he was a publicly recognized Divine Envoy.

The people in power had to maintain appearances, and they couldn’t prevent Mortis from arranging such luxurious accommodations for him.

Now that all those people in power had been killed by Lucian, he could live there with an even clearer conscience.

The next day, at the break of dawn.

Someone knocked on the door of Lucian’s room.

He opened it, and standing before him was the beautiful red-haired Mortis.

She stood elegantly at the doorway.

Her long white dress was striking, contrasting beautifully with her red hair and making her appear even more sacred.

She truly deserved the title of Saint.

“Good morning.” Mortis greeted him with a smile.

Lucian also smiled and replied: “Good morning.” Mortis said: “Could you come see Tribios?

She has something she wants to tell you.” Lucian didn’t even need to guess.

It was obviously about the gift they had discussed the previous night.

He nodded without hesitation, then closed the door and followed Mortis home.

After going through the complicated process of unlocking the secret door, they arrived at the underground room.

The moment the door opened, a flash of red jumped out and landed right in front of Lucian.

It seemed she had been waiting for him for quite some time.

“Good morning, Big Brother Lucian!” Tribios held up a drawing.

“This is a gift for you.

Thank you for liking me!

I like you too!” Lucian froze in place.

He had expected to receive a gift, but he hadn’t expected her to suddenly jump out and present it to him.

It was genuinely a pleasant surprise.

He smiled and accepted the drawing from Tribios.

Three little figures were drawn on it.

A man, a woman, and a child.

The three were holding hands.

Beside them were a palace, trees, and the Dawn Machine…

For some reason, it gave him a feeling of happiness.

“You drew this really well.

I love it.

Thank you.” Lucian brushed his hand across the drawing.

Emerald-green branches appeared from thin air, winding around the paper and weaving themselves into a frame.

Seeing how much Lucian cherished her gift, Tribios was indescribably happy, smiling like a flower in full bloom.

“I also have a gift for you, to thank you for helping me.” Mortis took out a red cord with a five-petaled white flower hanging from it.

“I made it myself, and I also prayed over it.

I hope you like it.” Mortis gently took Lucian’s left hand and personally tied the red cord around his wrist.

“In my hometown, there’s a saying: ‘A thousand miles of marriage are tied by a single thread.’ That ‘thread’ is a red cord.” Lucian looked at Mortis with a faintly amused smile.

“You gave me a red cord.

Are you trying to tie me to your side?” Such a direct question immediately unsettled Mortis.

She unconsciously looked away.

A blush appeared on her face, although she still tried to maintain her composure.

Just as Lucian had expected, she really did have such thoughts.

She simply didn’t dare admit them.

After all…

it had only been seven days since she and Lucian had met.

Only the legendary love at first sight could happen this quickly.

Could this really be what people call love at first sight?

“Mm…” Mortis answered softly.

Then, as though she had suddenly thought of something, she bravely raised her head and met Lucian’s eyes.

“Um…

actually, I was never married…

Tribios was born from a fruit bestowed by the Titans.” Tribios was still young and naturally couldn’t understand the circumstances of her own birth.

She simply blinked her large eyes and looked up at her mother and big brother.

She just had a feeling that the three of them could become a family.

Lucian looked into Mortis’s sincere and earnest eyes, smiled slightly, and raised his hand to pat her head.

“Mm.

I know.” In truth, he had already had some suspicions about this.

When he had traveled into the game and looked through the background story, there had been absolutely no information about Tribios’s father.

Not a single word.

Furthermore, when Tribios grew up, she looked extremely similar to Mortis—almost as though she had been carved from the same mold, without any trace of another person’s genes.

Lucian could therefore conclude that Tribios had no father.

As for her true origin, he had only just learned it.

She was actually a crystallization of the divine power of the Three Fates Titans, entrusted to Saint Mortis to raise.

Perhaps the Titan of the Pathway had already determined the future candidate for the Pathway demigod eight years ago…

“Then today, I’ll give you both a gift as well.” “Abundance’s Blessing.

I grant you eternal life.” (End of Chapter)[Thanks for Reading!]
