All she could do was silently pray in her heart for the three adults.

At this moment, Tribbie, Trianne, and Trinnon were all having the same dream.

In the dream, they saw their homeland, their mother, themselves, and a mysterious man…

Meanwhile, at the Hall of the Threefold Fate in Janusopolis.

Countless people had gathered together, waiting for the Rite of Benediction.

This time, the ceremony was presided over by the Grand Archon, Damnatios.

Lucian stood among the crowd, having changed into clothing similar to that of the locals.

Using the power of his Path to weave a set of clothes was simply too easy.

“Everyone, please be quiet!” A middle-aged woman stood at the entrance of the Hall of the Threefold Fate and shouted loudly.

In an instant, everyone became silent.

“Today, we are conducting the Rite of Benediction here.

The Saint will listen to the Titans’ prophecy and bring lasting peace to Janusopolis!” “Everyone, please pray for the Saint!” As soon as she finished speaking, the believers clasped their hands together, lowered their heads, and silently recited their prayers.

Lucian heard a series of incomprehensible murmurs beside his ears and couldn’t help raising a hand to scratch his ear.

It gave him a strange tingling sensation, as if earwax were being pushed around.

All the believers lowered their heads and prayed.

Only Lucian raised his head, observing his surroundings and searching for the figure of Tribios.

The Holy City had been built along the mountains, with enormous mountain ranges surrounding it.

Lucian looked up and saw a group of people standing on the cliff.

Ten guards carrying spears.

Two priests holding scriptures.

And a beautiful woman with long red hair.

“Please, Saint Mortis, begin the ceremony!” Damnatios shouted.

His voice echoed across the surrounding mountain walls.

All the believers also raised their heads and looked toward the altar.

Mortis?

Hearing this name, Lucian froze for a moment before finding the relevant information in his memories.

According to the game text he had read before transmigrating, Mortis was Tribios’s old mom, the former High Priestess of Janusopolis and the Saint who delivered divine revelations.

During one of the ceremonies, she was plotted against by the political and religious leadership and fell from a cliff to her death.

And this happened in the year 3750 of the Amphoreus calendar.

“At this point, Tribios is still only an eight-year-old child.” Lucian could only take things one step at a time.

After all, the system hadn’t told him what the script required.

He could only improvise freely.

And so, Lucian simply looked up as the beautiful red-haired woman, surrounded by several people, walked toward the altar at the edge of the cliff.

Beside the altar— “Saint Mortis, please begin the ceremony as soon as possible.” The two priests urged her on.

The ten guards behind them also stepped forward, seemingly threatening someone.

Mortis calmly looked around at everyone before glancing at the crowd gathered below the cliff.

She knew that she wouldn’t be able to return today.

Everyone behind her was a lackey of Damnatios’s faction.

The political and religious leadership wanted complete control over the power to deliver divine revelations.

They would never allow her to remain alive.

And this ceremony was the perfect opportunity to make her death appear both reasonable and legitimate.

“Tribios…” Mortis softly whispered her daughter’s name.

She wasn’t afraid of death.

She was only worried about her daughter’s safety.

Before leaving, she had already arranged for someone she trusted to take her daughter away and escape.

She could only hope everything went smoothly.

With these thoughts in mind, she stepped onto the altar.

The altar had been built right on the edge of the cliff.

Even the slightest accident could cause someone to lose their footing and fall.

Just as she stood on the altar and prepared to communicate with the Titans, a man’s voice came from behind her.

“You really thought we would let your daughter escape?

Kordex should have been captured by now, shouldn’t he?” Those words struck Mortis like a thunderbolt, causing her entire mind to tremble.

Kordex was the only deputy priest she could trust at present.

She had previously asked Kordex to take her daughter and escape through the secret passage.

Now that the other side had accurately revealed her backup plan, there was no way her daughter could escape.

“No!

You are not allowed to hurt her!” Mortis’s expression changed drastically.

She tried to escape from the altar.

She couldn’t die yet!

Just then, the altar began to shake.

In only two seconds, the altar shattered into several pieces and fell from the cliff.

Mortis had no time to escape.

Losing her balance, she fell along with the broken stones.

A cliff hundreds of meters high.

Falling from this height meant only one thing— Death.

Endless despair instantly filled Mortis’s entire body.

Unwillingness, anger, regret…

Negative emotions filled her mind.

At this moment, there was nothing she could do.

All she could do was accept her fate and wait to be crushed to death.

“I’m sorry, Tribios…” At the entrance of the Hall of the Threefold Fate— The believers witnessed the Saint falling from the cliff and couldn’t help screaming.

“Ah!!!” After seeing this scene, the corner of Damnatios’s mouth curved into an almost imperceptible smile.

Janusopolis had been built along the mountains, and historically, accidental falls from cliffs were not uncommon.

This way, Mortis’s death would simply be an accident.

No one would be held responsible.

And he would completely control the power to deliver divine revelations.

As for the contents of those revelations…

Wouldn’t he be the one deciding what they said?

Thinking about this, the scenery in his eyes became increasingly beautiful.

That rapidly falling figure was like a gift bestowed by the Titans.

Just then— A black shadow shot up from the ground.

Whoosh!

It instantly soared a hundred meters into the air!

At the exact moment the falling white figure collided with the rising black figure, the two figures suddenly stopped in midair!

Everyone stared intently.

It was actually an unfamiliar young man, holding the Saint who had just fallen from the cliff in his arms.
