HP – Jon Arctic as Severus Snape!

I am already aware that England's currency was not the euro in the 1970s. I noticed the mistake and will correct the earlier chapters. I have already written 42 chapters, so this error may still appear in upcoming chapters until I have time to revise them and replace euros with pounds.

Third Person POV

Diagon Alley.

...

...

"Alright, I'll buy it, boy, but I'll pay half the market price. I'm talking about supplier price." The man, Mr. Alberi, as he introduced himself, already in his 50s and with a somewhat stern face, analyzed all of Severus's plants before finally deciding to close the deal. Carefully checking each plant to see if everything was in order with them...

"Well, alright," Severus replied.

He knew he was losing money like this... They would be sold for only a few galleons, half of what a supplier would normally charge a shopkeeper, but he didn't have many options.

"There's something here, boy… but I will trust you," the man said, he was certainly suspicious of how Severus managed to change like this, and the spell that should analyze the plant's growth wasn't working. "They will be good ingredients for potions."

Meanwhile, Severus handed over three types of plants he had harvested after buying the seeds and making them grow, while the man nodded, satisfied with the quality.

The man began to gather all the plants, setting a price for each one before handing a pouch of coins to Severus. There were at least about 150 galleons there, for the amount of plants he managed to produce. Which was still good, since he had spent 2 galleons on the seeds.

It was far more than he would get from a traditional job. He could even become rich if he brought large quantities without seeming suspicious, but he couldn't do that. He would have to sell to different people, so as not to raise suspicion.

Anyway, he headed to a beauty shop.

'Madame Montclair's Arcane Salon.'

He stopped in front of it and couldn't help touching his hair. Maybe it was time to change it.

Entering the place, he found a young woman, around 21 years old, sitting at the reception desk, reading a fashion magazine. She looked up.

"A customer. How can I help you?" she asked, looking curiously at the handsome-eyed teenager.

"I want to modify my hair. Can I do that here?" he asked.

She nodded, staring at him a bit longer. "Of course, we can do that. Just wait a moment, I'll speak with my boss, Madame Montclair herself."

Severus waited for the woman to leave and then return with a smile on her face for him.

"You're in luck, she's free. You can go in."

Severus nodded. He had never seen a place like this. In the other world, the concept of appearance was handled by specialists and advisors who guided members of royal and noble families on how to present themselves daily, always adjusting hair and clothing.

Jon had this in Arctic, although he learned about it on his own, through his observations in the past, later, Arctic had produced its own specialists who were always advising the royal family.

Despite fashion being quite different in that world, Severus still had a good notion of how he should dress.

When he entered the place, he found a woman standing beside a chair, with a large mirror in front of it. She was reading, but removed the book and looked at him, displaying a smile.

She knew how to dress well, but in a somewhat exaggerated way, clearly a high-society witch... From what he also saw in the advertisement, she also taught etiquette to young ladies.

"Messi," she said, observing the boy with beautiful eyes. "Intéressant... What a waste to leave hair like that on a face that could be much more beautiful. Let's fix that."

The woman didn't fail to show a slight French accent, which made Severus immediately notice her origin.

She approached Severus, while he remained still, watching her circle around him, analyzing his hair, touching it and making some comments in French.

"It is truly a waste to keep this hair like this. It doesn't highlight your face… We can turn you into a prince by the end. You will leave unrecognizable. Beau… comme un prince!" she said enthusiastically.

Severus was not ugly. Far from it. He no longer had that horrible appearance — he was even somewhat handsome, but there were still some things to improve… or that were already changing.

His thinness was beginning to disappear. Lady Mianna was quite generous in providing meat in every meal for everyone in the reserve. There, food was always abundant. Severus also made sure to eat more than he normally would, taking advantage of the proteins. He was no longer someone obsessed only with potions and the cauldron, to the point of skipping meals...

He knew that would harm him in the future, so he began to have patience to eat properly — and in greater quantity. With that, his body was starting to move away from extreme thinness.

But there was still something that needed improvement: his hair. He didn't like long hair, not like that. He needed to change the hairstyle.

Severus remembered very well his adolescence in that other world as Jon Arctic. Although he had not been a peaceful student of a magic school — since he was a king, responsible for a kingdom, facing wars, monsters, and killing people at that same age — still, he took care of his appearance.

Thinking about that, Severus took out a piece of paper with a drawing he had made of his old appearance as Jon Arctic, still remembering his youthful features.

He looked at the woman and displayed a slight smile. "Can you make it like this?"

In the drawing, his hair was curly.

She looked at the drawing and then at him.

"Intéressant… we can do it. It will be Magnifique."

Severus sat in the chair, while she began to prepare everything. Soon, his hair began to be cut.

If it were before, the old Severus would be horrified to see the hair being reduced. But now he only watched calmly.

The hair became shorter and shorter, his ears began to show, and she used magic along with combs to shape and even modify the very nature of the strands.

When she finished, Severus looked at the result, satisfied.

His hair had not only been cut — it had been transformed. It looked much more silky and beautiful, without that greasy aspect. The curly style suited his face much more.

He could already imagine the reaction of certain people upon seeing his new appearance. Not that he cared much about it, he had already been a king, he shouldn't trouble his mind with something so trivial, but he had no intention of hiding out of fear of others' reactions.

Anyway, he turned his attention back to the woman, who looked at him in admiration.

"Très beau… Très beau!" she said, almost singing. "My best transformation."

She observed him carefully. Still a bit thin, yes, but with a handsome face, bright eyes, a striking smile… and now, the hair completed everything.

For Madame Montclair, she had just created a prince.

Severus could see the reaction of the first employee who attended him when he went out to pay.

"F-fifty galleons!" she stuttered, seeing his new appearance catching her by surprise.

It was quite expensive, but worth it.

The woman continued to stare at him, visibly shocked, even blushing. Madame Montclair appeared behind her, laughing with satisfaction.

"Nous avons créé un prince!" she declared.

Severus simply gave a grateful smile. He did not feel embarrassed by the women's attention — he was already used to dealing with beautiful women in his other life every day. A few compliments and piercing looks would not make him blush.

After that, he said goodbye and left.

The second item on his list was to go to a shop to look for books about expansion. Upon entering Flourish and Blotts, he found many students buying supplies. There was no one from the sixth year yet — after all, they were waiting for the OWL letters to arrive with their grades, and there was still about a month for that.

Severus walked through the aisles listening to gossip. Some pointed at him, mainly girls, whispering and trying to figure out who he was.

Severus ignored it.

He was there for knowledge.

While he searched, someone finally attended him.

"You want books on expansion, my dear? I have some here," said the man, showing him some options.

They were extremely expensive books, around 10 galleons each.

Even so, Severus bought three of them. He wanted to learn how to perform the complete spell.

"But don't try to do anything with this. The Ministry forbids expansion spells without authorization," the man warned.

Severus nodded. "Don't worry. It's just for theory," he replied, making an excuse as he left the place.

He still bought a few more things here and there, and did not fail to greet Ollivander upon entering the wand shop. He found some students buying their first wands, accompanied by their parents, who seemed excited — especially the Muggles, enchanted by the moment of their children.

Severus spoke briefly with Ollivander when he had the opportunity.

The man was surprised when Severus mentioned that he had learned apparition in less than half a day, working alone. He was even more impressed to see him handle the wand so naturally, even though it still continued to resist him.

"You carved runes into it?! I've never seen anything like it..." Severus explained the runes in magic and how to hide his magical fluctuations from the Ministry, making it impossible to detect with a runic language unknown to this world.

After that, Severus left.

While he continued buying more books, suddenly, he heard screams coming from one side of the street.

Soon after, explosions.

Severus didn't think twice — he ran in the direction of the sound to see what was happening.

When he arrived, he was surprised. Masked men, Voldemort's men.

Death Eaters were casting spells from the street, against a Flourish and Blotts bookstore he had been in earlier, which was full of people — probably Muggles with their children.

Severus could ignore the horrors and leave to avoid drawing attention, but he was not the type of person who would stand still in the face of that.

While people ran, he moved to a corner, observing the two Death Eaters wearing masks and laughing as they moved their wands. They wouldn't be able to identify him from there...

His gaze fell on a trash can. With a simple movement of his wand, he levitated it from the ground and began to distort it with magic, shaping the metal until he turned it into a bastard sword with transfiguration. Then, he grabbed some fallen bricks and created two more swords.

The three blades floated, pointed at the Death Eaters.

Severus raised his wand and pointed at them. The swords shot forward.

The first Death Eater had no time to react. He felt something pierce his leg — one of the blades had lodged into it, piercing it completely. He felt his leg weaken and lost his balance, falling to the ground, still not understanding what had happened.

Then the pain came. He immediately began to scream, looking at his own leg with the sword embedded in it.

The second reacted better. When the other two blades advanced, he quickly turned and conjured a shield. The swords collided against the magical barrier.

Upon looking at his injured companion, he showed concern. His eyes then turned back to the alley from where the attack had come.

But there was no one.

Frustrated, he realized he couldn't stay there. He touched his companion, and the two disappeared in apparition.

The crowd was stunned and calmed down, trying to understand what had happened.

All that remained was the blood of the first Death Eater on the ground. Severus watched from afar, hidden, before deciding to leave.

The aurors arrived about two minutes later.

They had arrived far too late... Severus knew that. In three minutes, the Death Eaters could have killed everyone inside the shop.

While the aurors helped the people and began to investigate, asking what had happened and who had attacked, Severus had already left.

'So they attacked like this...' Severus thought about the way Voldemort and the Death Eaters acted...

He entered an alley and disappeared, returning to the dragon reserve.

"I'm back," he said as he entered, but found no one.

"They must be with the dragons… they should return for lunch," he murmured, but then, he noticed a letter on the table.

He approached and recognized the Hogwarts seal.

It was for him.

Upon opening it, he saw that it was the result of his O.W.L.s, along with the list of what he needed to buy.

"Well…," he murmured.

He went to the room to store what he had bought.

He still had around 40 galleons left, since he had acquired several books to study magic. He knew his theoretical understanding was excellent.

With the mindset of another world, he not only understood the contents easily, but also questioned the methods presented — and often improved them.

It wouldn't be the first time he had done something like this.

His runes and magical release books were already all scribbled, filled with his own notes. He had even invented his own theories, questioning some existing ones and trying to replace what he thought was incorrect.

Anyway, he took advantage of the rest of the morning to read one of the books he hadn't paid much attention to before, but which now sparked great interest: Fantastic Beasts, edition 37, by Newt Scamander.

Magical creatures.

Severus was interested in them and began to read about each one. In Diagon Alley, he hadn't seen anything beyond slightly magical creatures. He had already encountered the dragons, but until now he knew of the existence of other nests of magical creatures in the region. He just didn't know them... it would be good to see them at another time and know what they are before encountering them.

Severus wanted to learn more about them. One of the best places to find this type of creature would be Hogwarts and its surroundings.

The old Severus Snape had never been interested in that. But now, with the memories of Jon Arctic… he was willing to know everything.

Anyway, everything seemed calm until, suddenly, a roar echoed from outside.

Severus raised his head, feeling something land near the cabin.

"What is it now…", he murmured.

He left the room and went outside. There he found Belarus, roaring at him before stopping upon seeing him approach.

"What are you up to now?" Severus asked.

He approached calmly, without his wand in hand, and touched the creature's snout.

With a simple look and hearing the dragon's soft purring, he immediately understood what was happening.

"Ah… seriously?" he said, letting out a low laugh.

The dragon seemed dissatisfied.

Since Severus had taken the day off, he hadn't come to interact with her today — something he had been doing constantly since last week. So Belarus took the initiative to look for him.

Soon after, sounds of apparition echoed. The others had certainly followed the dragon after the roar of anger and flown there.

"Why is she here?" Cedric, another member of the reserve, asked as he arrived, still cautious.

Severus simply gave a small smile. The man even seemed a bit impressed with Severus's new haircut, but he was more concerned about the dragon.

"Don't worry. She just wants to stay a little. Afterward, she'll go back," Severus replied. "I'll get a book and stay with her for a while."

He went back inside, grabbed Newt Scamander's book, and went to a spot not too far from the cabin, leaving Cedric a bit stunned.

Belarus followed him.

Severus sat about 200 meters away in the middle of a pasture near the cabin and resumed his reading, while the dragon remained by his side.

Even without constant interaction, the creature seemed to enjoy his presence — to the point of becoming irritated when he didn't show up.

Lady Mianna appeared shortly after. Upon seeing that scene, she simply shook her head and returned to her activities.

She knew he would be fine.

They would have to deal with the dragons again — especially when she realized that Belarus was not the only one who missed Severus. Somehow, Severus's absence from the area where the dragons stayed had left other dragons dissatisfied, much to her despair.

And so, the reserve team had to contain them for the rest of the day.
