Renn gave Victor a calm glance.
“Victor, saying something like that now is pointless. I’m not an idiot, and neither are you. Things have already gone this far, so don’t make me look down on you.”
Victor’s expression darkened.
“Fine. I admit I sent people to test you. I can compensate you.”
“Then compensate me with your life.”
Renn raised his handgun.
“Your men tried to kill me. Only your life can repay that.”
Renn wasn’t someone who enjoyed killing.
But he would never spare someone who had tried to kill him.
He pulled the trigger.
“Bang!”
A figure suddenly moved in front of Victor.
A bloody hole appeared between the man’s brows, and his body slumped to the ground.
Victor’s expression turned grim.
“Everyone, attack! Kill all four of them!”
Dozens of figures charged toward Renn and the others.
“Kill!”
Excitement appeared on Uvogin’s face.
“Bring it on!”
Aura enveloped Uvogin’s entire body.
Uvogin followed a balanced path, enhancing his entire body rather than focusing on a single area.
As a result, he could strengthen his flesh to an astonishing degree.
At his peak, he could withstand a rocket launcher with his bare body.
Even when Kurapika’s chains forcibly put him into Zetsu, his body could still withstand attacks from ordinary blades.
Of course, the current Uvogin was nowhere near that level yet.
But his fighting style was already similar.
“Destructive Fist!”
Faced with a combined attack from four opponents, Uvogin simply threw a punch.
The tremendous force sent all four flying backward.
“Now this is fun!”
Once Uvogin immersed himself in battle, he looked almost like a madman.
Nobunaga, on the other hand, was completely different.
He remained calm.
The sword in his hand slid swiftly back into its sheath, then flashed out again.
Every time Nobunaga drew his sword, an enemy died.
Watching the scene, Renn felt something about it was strangely unnatural.
Nobunaga’s fighting style didn’t look much like an actual battle.
It felt more like turn-based combat.
Still, that didn’t matter.
As long as he won, it was fine.
Even against an ordinary gang member, she often needed several exchanges before she could catch an opening and strike a vital point.
But Machi’s intuition was exceptionally sharp.
She could almost always avoid danger before it reached her.
The person who killed the most enemies was Renn.
One bullet.
One enemy.
Not a single shot missed.
With his mastery-level Firearms skill, these people simply couldn’t dodge his bullets.
Victor’s expression grew darker and darker.
“Why aren’t Maide and the other three here yet?”
“Boss, I already notified them. Lord Maide and the others are coming as fast as they can.”
Victor nodded.
“Keep attacking! Don’t stop!”
“Yes, Boss!”
Victor watched one subordinate after another fall, his heart bleeding with every death.
It hadn’t been easy for the Whale Gang to gather this many people.
Every one of them represented years of Victor’s effort.
Losing so many at once would severely weaken the Whale Gang.
And when that happened, how were they supposed to defend themselves against the other gangs?
“Renn! Uvogin! Nobunaga! Machi!”
“You four have killed so many of my men! I’ll make sure you die!”
“Once Maide and the others arrive, you’re finished!”
Dozens of corpses littered the ground.
Uvogin looked around, still somewhat unsatisfied, before finally lowering his fists.
“They really can’t take a beating.”
Nobunaga glanced at the sword in his hand.
The blade was already covered in chips.
His resentment immediately rose again.
“I need a good sword.”
Renn looked toward Victor.
By now, nearly all of Victor’s men in the courtyard were dead.
Only two or three remained standing in front of him.
Fear and hatred filled Victor’s eyes.
“Renn, do you really have to take this so far?”
“Victor, it’s too late to say that now.”
“We’re all adults. And since we’re adults, we have to take responsibility for the choices we make.”
Machi tugged at Renn’s sleeve.
“Renn, you’re not an adult yet.”
Renn: “…”
He was still two years away from adulthood.
Among the four of them, Nobunaga was the only actual adult.
Uvogin was seventeen.
Renn was sixteen.
Machi was twelve.
Renn raised his gun and fired.
“Bang!”
One of the men shielding Victor fell.
Another shot.
Another man dropped.
Now Victor stood alone.
A faint layer of aura surrounded his body.
Victor was a Nen user.
But judging from what Renn could see, he didn’t seem particularly strong.
The fact that someone like him had managed to become the leader of the Whale Gang struck Renn as somewhat strange.
“Maybe his Nen ability is unusual.”
Renn became wary.
He raised his handgun.
“Rising Shot!”
Victor’s body was launched into the air.
Suddenly, a figure dropped from above.
“Boom!”
The ground itself trembled from the impact.
Renn looked over.
A huge, obese man stood there.
“Nobunaga, is he from the Whale Gang?”
“No.”
Nobunaga shook his head.
“I’ve never seen him before.”
Immediately afterward, two more figures landed.
One was relatively short.
The other was a thin, middle-aged man.
And above them hovered yet another person, a pair of bat-like wings extending from his back.
“You’re finally here!”
Victor glared viciously at Renn.
“Renn, your time is up!”
“Do you know who I am?”
“I’m the younger brother of Siji, leader of the Thunder Gang!”
“His own flesh-and-blood brother!”
