Renn immediately understood.
Meteor City had a clearly defined hierarchy.
At the very top of the pyramid was naturally the Council of Elders.
Nine Elders each controlled one of the nine major regions.
Directly beneath the Council of Elders were the Twelve Gangs.
Groups like the Shark Gang and Whale Gang weren’t even worth mentioning by comparison.
No wonder Victor had been able to become the leader of the Whale Gang despite not being particularly strong.
So this was the backing he had relied on.
And no wonder such a minor gang had possessed so many Nen users, even if most of them weren’t very powerful.
“Kneel down and beg me for mercy. Maybe I’ll spare your life!”
A mocking expression appeared on Victor’s face.
The four reinforcements Victor had called in stared at Renn and the others.
“Captain, what do we do now?”
Nobunaga and Uvogin both looked toward Renn.
Machi stood firmly at Renn’s side.
Renn glanced at his Character panel.
The Gunner was currently Level 14.
It needed only a little more experience to reach Level 15.
This was the Character panel Renn used most often.
Whenever he killed someone while using it, the Gunner gained experience.
“Are you afraid of a challenge?”
“No.”
“Good. It’s only the Thunder Gang. I don’t see any reason for us to fear them!”
Renn raised his handgun and abruptly fired.
The aura bullet shot toward Victor at incredible speed.

It struck Victor directly between the brows.
A bloody hole instantly appeared in his forehead.
Blood sprayed outward.
Victor’s eyes widened, his face filled with disbelief.
He had never imagined that Renn would still dare to attack him now.
The four men sent by the Thunder Gang were equally stunned.
“How dare you?”
“Of course I dare.”
Renn stared coldly at the four of them.
“Those who try to kill others should be prepared to be killed in return. Victor tried to kill me, so of course I killed him.”

The fat man stared at Renn.
“Brat, you have no idea what kind of terrifying existence you’ve provoked.”
“We didn’t like Victor either, but he was still our boss’s own younger brother.”

“If you want my head, you’ll have to work for it.”

Every five levels, one new skill could be unlocked.
When Renn had first awakened his Nen ability, his Character panels had started at Level 10, allowing him to unlock two skills.
But now, the Gunner had reached Level 15.
That meant Renn could unlock a third skill.
“M-137 Gatling Gun!”
Renn immediately activated his newly unlocked skill.
In an instant, the handgun in his hands transformed into a Gatling gun.
He aimed at the winged man hovering in the air and opened fire.
An endless torrent of bullets poured forth.
At the same time, Uvogin charged toward the fat man.
Nobunaga rushed at the tall, thin man.
Machi’s opponent was the short man.
Bat-Wings hadn’t expected Renn to possess an attack like this and had no time to evade.
The Gatling gun’s barrage struck him directly, riddling his wings with holes.
Unable to maintain his balance, he plummeted from the sky.
Renn stepped forward.
Just before Bat-Wings hit the ground, Renn fired another shot.
“Rising Shot!”
Immediately afterward, Renn moved directly beneath him.
“Activate—Slayer!”
The gun in Renn’s hand transformed into a sword.
“Ghost Slash!”
The instant Bat-Wings fell within reach, Renn slashed upward.
A fountain of blood erupted from his body.
Bat-Wings was dead.
“Disassembler!”
Renn threw Bat-Wings’ corpse into the Disassembler.
“Disassembly successful. EXP gained: 128.”
“Nen Mastery acquired: 3. Current progress: 7.3%.”
This was the greatest reward he had ever obtained from disassembling a corpse.
That alone proved that Bat-Wings had definitely been quite powerful.
The reason he had been completely unable to resist Renn’s attack came partly from carelessness.
But there was another reason.
Being airborne was both an advantage and a disadvantage.
There was no cover in the sky.
Against Renn, that made him a living target.
The Gunner was practically a natural counter to Bat-Wings.
The expressions of the other three changed.
The fat man fighting Uvogin darkened.
“That idiot!”

Renn looked toward the short man fighting Machi.
Uvogin wasn’t a match for the fat man, but he could still hold out for a while.
Nobunaga and the thin man were evenly matched.
If Nobunaga had a proper sword, he might even have held the advantage.
Machi, however, wasn’t a match for the short man.
Without having developed her own signature ability yet, Machi was at a significant disadvantage in a fight between Nen users.
Of the four enemies, the fat man was the strongest.
Renn raised his gun.
He pulled the trigger.
“Bang!”
A bullet struck the short man precisely in the eye.
Machi seized the opening.
She drove a fist into his throat.
