Bo Yin didn’t refuse the invitation.

There was no reason to, nor did she want to.

Wuning’s bed was very large, spacious enough for her to roll around on it several times.Full novel: Husband? Only Choose the Unhinged, Older, Dark, Love-Rivalry Type. — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

“Is this base built to high specifications? Did secret high-ranking officers or lethal soldiers targeting us live here before?” she asked curiously.

The original owner was just a young girl who had never left school, having only received an academy education, and knew little about anything outside the institution.

But Wuning was accustomed to asking the System or those around her for more information.

Most X-Agents possessed this kind of curiosity.

Bo Yin shook her head slightly, “It’s just a training base for the Polluted, not particularly high-grade.”

Wuning was slightly surprised but quickly understood.

The simplicity of the 191 Phantom Squad’s living quarters was their own choice.

This was quite different from other Polluted.

The mission rewards for the Polluted were extremely high, and they couldn’t leave their assigned locations freely, nor did they have needs for food or clothing.

So aside from routine equipment maintenance, money had little practical use.

With limited lifespans, all Polluted chose to spend virtually within the cities built for them, circulating funds internally.

It was like a salary cycle.

They called it Paradise.

The Polluted adhered to the philosophy of seizing the moment and indulging extravagantly.

Yet many desires were restricted.

So even though the Polluted’s sadistic and sexual urges far exceeded normal human levels—enough to potentially torture a bed partner to death—there were still people who stubbornly refused to believe the warnings and climbed into their beds to obtain large sums of money.

The Polluted were always generous, and lavishly spending on bed partners could also satisfy their desires, finding some value in existence beyond killing.

As for the 191 Phantom Squad, they were both the most notoriously insane Polluted and the only ones willing to be stationed at military bases and follow regulations.

“When will they arrive? Will Sanchez and Eli fight fiercely?” Wuning asked again.

“You don’t seem worried at all.”

Bo Yin glanced sideways at her, “They have their limits, and it’s time for them to vent a little.”

Wuning recalled Eli stabbing Sanchez in the abdomen… That didn’t seem like having limits at all!

“Don’t worry,” Bo Yin walked over again and half-knelt, her gray eyes calm and serene, “Your arrival will definitely cause the frequency of internal fights to skyrocket temporarily.”

Wuning raised an eyebrow slightly, somewhat surprised, “That can’t be my fault, Major General.”

“Of course it’s not your fault. What I mean is, let them fight. If they previously had no limits, then after you arrive, they certainly will.” Bo Yin’s eyes were smiling again.

As soon as she finished speaking, the roar of an approaching aircraft sounded from outside.

Along with the loud, clamorous shouts of the team members.

Amid the eager, expectant calls of her companions, Bo Yin leaned closer to Wuning.

Seemingly to let the girl hear her low, magnetic voice clearly.

“After all, none of them truly wants to lose the chance to get close to you.”

Wuning blinked, thought for two seconds, felt something was off but couldn’t immediately pinpoint what, “Huh?”

Wouldn’t that make them fight even more fiercely without restraint? The winner gets the chance? The loser slinks away?

Bo Yin saw the girl’s confusion, and laugh lines appeared at the corners of her eyes.

What she meant was, whoever was more severely injured would receive preferential treatment from the Medic.

Even if emotions ran high at first and no one noticed this point, once someone got this preferential treatment first, the rest should have realized.

They wouldn’t give each other such opportunities again.

This kind of clever method was like cheating—better to forbid everyone from using it.

It was just unclear whether Sanchez or Eli would be the first to charge in later.

Wuning was completely inexperienced in emotional relationships. Unable to figure it out, she shrugged. “Alright, but there’s really no need for this. I treat you all equally and won’t show favoritism toward anyone.”

Bo Yin’s breathing softened slightly, her eyes flickering as she refuted the girl’s words for the first time. “No, no one can avoid showing favoritism.”

Wuning spread her hands. “I’ll prove it through my actions.”

No one could doubt her dedication to completing tasks.

Bo Yin removed her gloves and took the girl’s hand, which was a full size smaller than her own. “Even so, you can’t stop our competition.”

“You should know—you’re the first Medic to earn our recognition, even the first human to gain our approval.”

Wuning found this phrasing somewhat amusing.

As if she had received some kind of certification from stray cats or dogs.

—Human, the meows and woofs like you and will follow you home. You’re no longer a wild person without meows or woofs.

Seeing her eyes crinkle into a smile, Bo Yin’s voice grew even softer. She suppressed the urge to crave the girl’s scent. “This kind of competition is inevitable.”

“Even ordinary people want to possess their favorite treasures alone, let alone us short-lived Polluted lunatics.”

The girl seemed unaware of how significant she was to them.

Whether before or after becoming Polluted, she was the best they had ever encountered in their lives.

The best “what” remained to be determined, but she was undoubtedly the best.

Bo Yin closed her fingers, enveloping the girl’s soft yet strong hand. “But it will ease. You don’t need to worry or fret about it.”

“If you dislike their rivalry for favor or grow tired and overwhelmed, come to me, alright?”

They would eventually find a balance.

Wuning, having had her eyes opened to a new world, fell into thought. Suddenly, she blinked and scrutinized Bo Yin.

“Then why haven’t you competed?”

Bo Yin let out a genuine, light chuckle. “How do you know I haven’t competed?”

“Because I haven’t seen it,” Wuning replied blankly.

Bo Yin lowered her thick, silvery-white lashes, like gentle snow falling quietly.

She didn’t speak but stood up. The next moment, a tall figure appeared at the door.

Somewhat unexpectedly, it wasn’t Sanchez or Eli.

It was Cook.

Wuning took one look and rushed over from the bedside. “How did you get injured!”

Bo Yin’s gaze shifted past Cook’s shoulder to the other three.

Oh? It was Cook?

Cook was undoubtedly the most taciturn among them, straightforward in thought and simple yet brutal in action.

They had considered everyone but never expected Cook to seize this first opportunity.

Sanchez wore clear jealousy and displeasure on his face. Garnet, who was eagerly hoping for a chance at a pat, whispered an explanation, “Eli went crazy again.”

“Where is he?” Bo Yin’s expression turned cold and stern.

“He went to the mission point early. Couldn’t stop him,” Sanchez said, arms crossed, claiming he couldn’t stop him.

But his expression looked as if he hadn’t tried at all.

Not only had he not tried—he probably wished Eli would die out there.

Cook’s injury couldn’t heal quickly, even with regenerative abilities.

After Wuning examined and treated his wounds, she set the parameters of the treatment pod and had him lie down inside, thoughtfully providing some mental energy soothing as well.

“Was it Eli who did this?” She sat nearby, her expression serious.

This truly exceeded her expectations—it was far from a minor scuffle.

“He’s just a madman who can’t stop once he sees blood,” Cook complained, his voice pleading for comfort.

“I only wanted to break up the fight.”

Though his method of breaking up the fight was to join the brawl and end up damaging Eli’s most treasured weapon.

But such a minor slip-up didn’t need to be mentioned to her.

Cook didn’t want to stay in the treatment pod—it meant he couldn’t touch the girl.

Wuning wouldn’t let him come out. “Don’t move. I’ll come in instead.”

Cook eagerly agreed, then hastily refused, “I’m covered in blood. It’s dirty.”

“It’s fine.” Wuning didn’t mind. She opened the treatment pod and lay down inside.

Cook immediately wrapped his arms around her, pulling her close, and subtly smeared his blood onto the girl’s body.

His blood tainted her.

This stirred a secret sweetness in Cook’s heart.

He nearly intoxicated himself, burying his face in the crook of Wuning’s neck, gripping her slender wrist. Still unsatisfied, he brought the girl’s vein to his lips, stealing glances at Wuning’s expression before slowly licking it a few times with his tongue.

Wuning shifted her wrist slightly but didn’t push him away.

His tongue was warm and slightly rough—like being licked by a cat.

At least she was clean.

Seeing Wuning didn’t object, Cook’s cheeks flushed crimson beneath his mask, his dark eyes seeming to brim with the glow of wine. He held Wuning’s wrist, licking it with an obsessive fervor.

Sanchez approached, watching their every move intently.

Though dark thoughts bubbled up in his mind like a swamp, he still wore a light, carefree smile. “Oh my, look at this pitiful, heart-wrenching sight.”

“Anyone would think you just narrowly escaped death from the most treacherous Dark Sky Zone.”

Cook paid no attention, continuing to suck and lick.

Sanchez opened his communicator and recorded a short clip, then stepped outside to send it to Eli, who was on his way to a mission site.

He thoughtfully added a voiceover, his tone lazy but unable to hide the blatant mockery and malice.

“Bo Yin said she originally planned to have the little lamb soothe your mental energy tomorrow.”

“If you hadn’t gone crazy, this treatment wouldn’t have fallen to Cook.”

“This mission of yours will take half a month, right? What a shame. In half a month, you’ll be the last one to be soothed~”
