Wuning was asked many more questions.

Repeatedly, from different angles, with traps and pitfalls.

The slightest hesitation or pause, and the soldier beside her would aim his gun at her head.Full novel: Husband? Only Choose the Unhinged, Older, Dark, Love-Rivalry Type. — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

But in reality, this was just a form of intimidation, because with just a light tap on the screen by Durant, Wuning would instantly suffer brain death—no need for a gun at all.

She was interrogated for over an hour before being allowed to leave.

Bo Yin was waiting outside.

“So, everything’s fine now?” Wuning rubbed her temples irritably.

The lie-detector helmet had given her a headache.

And for some reason, she felt agitated.

Bo Yin wrapped his arms around her, his fingers gently massaging the girl’s temples, his low, magnetic voice soothing her slowly.

“The lie detector operates based on mental fluctuations, so there can be varying degrees of side effects. Rest for a moment, and you’ll feel better.”

“Cook is already waiting. He’ll take you back.”

“What about you?” Wuning looked up at him. “Aren’t you coming with me?”

“The investigation into me isn’t over yet. I’ll have to stay a while longer.” Bo Yin’s fingertips lingered over the girl’s delicate chin.

Her face was so small, it could easily be cupped in his palm.

And those words she had just said…

Bo Yin couldn’t help but let his thoughts wander.

Even if the Polluted couldn’t marry, even if his life could end at any moment, even if those words might have been angry remarks made by the girl when she was framed, he couldn’t stop fantasizing.

But soon, Bo Yin’s attention was drawn to the girl’s expression.

He swore he hadn’t pressed hard against her cheeks or chin, but Wuning winced and moved her mouth slightly.

The man’s expression changed, and his fingers gently but firmly held the Medic’s face. “Open your mouth.”

Wuning avoided his gaze, trying to brush it off. “It’s nothing.”

“If you don’t open it yourself, I’ll slip my fingers inside.” Bo Yin picked her up and kicked open the door to an empty interrogation room.

He placed the girl on the table.

Wuning had no choice but to comply, slightly extending her bitten tongue to rest on her lower lip for him to see.

Blood droplets kept welling up.

Bo Yin’s eyes darkened, and his Adam’s apple, hidden beneath his crisp collar, throbbed violently.

A sudden, intense craving seized him.

A terrifying hunger filled every corner of his mind.

Causing the man’s gaze to shift from concern and worry to a dark, almost irrational intensity.

“I once read that making your brain feel pain while facing a lie detector can blur the line between truth and lies, tricking the machine. So I tried it,” Wuning explained proactively, withdrawing her tongue and swallowing the metallic taste of blood.

Bo Yin’s wandering rationality gradually returned at the girl’s words.

He shook his head gently, heart aching. “Thank you, but there’s no need for that next time. Even if you don’t cooperate, I won’t let them hurt you.”

“I didn’t want them to use me to attack, frame, or harm you either,” Wuning argued.

She huffed and crossed her arms. “You should praise me. I bet not many people know this trick.”

Wuning glanced at the major general. “If Gani were here, he’d gasp loudly! Then he’d praise me endlessly, saying I’m the most amazing, cleverest Medic in the universe!”

When it came to providing emotional support, no one could beat Gani the puppy!

Bo Yin sighed softly in his heart, his low voice carrying a mix of resignation and indulgence after compromise. “Of course I would praise you for being clever and quick-witted, brave and fearless, possessing all the finest qualities—you are the most wonderful girl.”

“But I also need to tell you, don’t do this.”

“Please believe me, don’t protect us by hurting yourself. Never, ever do that, okay?”

The man spoke earnestly, his gaze pleading. “Promise me, give me your word.”

The officer’s eyes were like a cascading sky, pressing down along with his intense, overflowing emotions, making Wuning feel almost breathless and flushed.

And because she couldn’t bear the weight of such a look, she felt an inexplicable guilt and reluctance, obediently promising she wouldn’t do it again.

Bo Yin’s voice softened even more. “Good girl.”

Wuning unconsciously swallowed, tasting another mouthful of blood, and felt a bit troubled as she thought about finding water to rinse her mouth.

“You’re going to the Military Research Institute later, right?” Bo Yin suddenly brought up a seemingly unrelated topic.

Wuning nodded. “Mm, are you going to stop me?”

“Of course not.” Bo Yin didn’t understand why she would ask that.

“Ah, why? Are you willing to be apart from me?” Wuning straightened up.

“Wherever you go, we’ll follow. Why would we be apart?” Bo Yin raised an eyebrow in surprise.

Wuning smiled, a small dimple appearing on her cheek. “I don’t want to be apart either.”

“I was actually planning to apply to the higher-ups later to have you as my test subjects, so we could openly stay together.”

Bo Yin’s eyelashes fluttered slightly, letting out a hesitant “mm.” Wuning tilted her head to look at him. “What’s wrong? Do you have something to tell me?”

“I was just thinking about an experiment that hasn’t been publicly disclosed yet. Since it targets the Polluted, I’m involved.” Bo Yin stared at the girl’s lips as he spoke slowly.

He removed his glove, revealing his cold, pale, slender fingers with faintly visible veins, and gently wiped away a speck of blood from the girl’s lips.

Wuning felt that faint, unfamiliar electric sensation again, growing a bit nervous and instinctively wanting to purse her lips.

As a result, she ended up catching Bo Yin’s fingertip between her lips.

It was just a tiny bit of skin on his fingertip—maybe no larger than a peanut—but Bo Yin’s suppressed appetite surged wildly.

It felt as if it could be released through that slight touch of skin, squeezing him until his whole body ached.

The man abruptly withdrew his finger, losing his composure as he turned away to take deep breaths and restrain his emotions.

Wuning pondered thoughtfully, touching her own lips and then glancing at the flustered Bo Yin before suddenly realizing. “Medic blood has a stimulating effect on you, doesn’t it?”

“Like a stimulant. If we could synthesize a similar serum for injection on the battlefield, your combat abilities would skyrocket again!”

Superheroes—she understood.

For a moment, Bo Yin felt a sweet sense of helplessness.

Their little Medic always had so many strange and whimsical ideas.

She spoke bluntly, without considering the consequences of saying such things in front of them.

She truly trusted and felt too at ease with them.

Just as she had once complained with grievance, they treated her too well, so she never felt fear or threat.

This was wrong, Bo Yin thought to himself, very wrong. It was time she learned a little about the terror of the Polluted.

So Bo Yin glanced sideways and continued from where he left off. “That hypothesis still needs testing, but what I want to tell you is a conclusion that has already been confirmed.”

“What? What?” the girl asked curiously, pressing for an answer.

Bo Yin leaned down closer to her, tilting his chin slightly upward as he lifted the edge of his skin-tight daily mask from his Adam’s apple up to the bridge of his high, straight nose.

Revealing perfectly shaped, pale, thin lips and a glimpse of his sharp, elegant jawline.

Wuning froze.

Her gaze uncontrollably fixed on the man’s lips.

Before this, she had never had any x-rated thoughts about the five men of 191, nor had she ever found them sexually attractive.

For example, she knew they all had great physiques, but even when she rested her head on Cook’s impressive pectoral muscles, it was just that—resting—without ever thinking of them as elastic, biteable, suckable treats.

For example, Sanchez often showed his face in front of her, making inappropriate expressions, but her attention had never focused on Sanchez’s mouth.

But now, perhaps because her field of vision was limited to Bo Yin’s lips, she actually began to think that Bo Yin’s mouth looked very kissable.

This was really dangerous.

It was as if she had suddenly awakened, becoming aware of the allure of these five men.

Wuning wanted to quietly swallow her saliva, quietly shift her gaze, quietly hide her thoughts.

But Bo Yin’s next words nearly made her choke.

“Polluted have strong self-healing abilities, which can be temporarily transmitted through bodily fluids, just as your Mental Power might attach itself to scents.”

The man lifted Wuning’s face, his touch gentle yet unyielding. “If your tongue hurts and you want to stop the bleeding, I’m right here.”

To avoid making the girl shy, Bo Yin closed his eyes after leaning in, quietly waiting.

Self-healing transmitted through bodily fluids? False.

Even if it had been proven wrong, it was still proof.

If that were true, the bed partners of the Polluted wouldn’t get hurt. They could do whatever they wanted—it might hurt, but they wouldn’t die.

Bo Yin just wanted to seize the opportunity while his teammates were away to claim a compensation.

Compensation for the many days ahead when he wouldn’t be able to see her.

He believed the other members of the squad wouldn’t mind—

and wouldn’t dare to mind.

He didn’t care whether they minded or not.

Bo Yin waited quietly, counting the seconds in his heart.

He hoped their Medic wouldn’t make him wait 191 seconds.

Soon, a dry touch brushed against his lips, gradually turning moist.

Bo Yin’s heart trembled.

A sweet, refreshing taste seeped through the seam of his lips, sweeping through his entire body like a storm.

Bo Yin continued counting the seconds.

As if calculating how to double the pleasure he could take from the intruder.

Bo Yin moved slowly, his other hand gently cradling the back of the girl’s head in a soothing gesture. Then, as he felt her take a breath, he suddenly tightened his grip.

Wuning’s eyes widened. “Mmph…!”
