The sheepskin scroll was delivered.

The two of them sat facing each other.

Xu Lian smiled brightly and said, “Commander Song, you promised me—after we switch back, you’re not allowed to take the opportunity to do anything to me.”Full novel: I am a Spy, But I Swapped Bodies with the Enemy Commander — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

It was also the first time Song Jinze had ever looked at his own face from such a strange, close distance.

Having his body occupied by a stranger—and seeing it wear such an irritating expression—made him extremely uncomfortable.

He suppressed that discomfort and returned an equally fake, disgusting smile. “Of course. Miss, you’re so beautiful—how could I bear to lay a hand on you?”

Xu Lian immediately clapped her hands enthusiastically and said in a syrupy tone, “That’s wonderful! Commander Song, you’re such a good person. Sweet-talking too—no wonder you became Supreme Commander at such a young age. See, someone as pretty as me just can’t compare. Haha, I wonder what your fiancée would think if she heard that.”

What does that have to do with you… Song Jinze felt his temper flare.

The ritual began.

Xu Lian skillfully bit her finger, let a drop of blood fall onto the sheepskin scroll, and silently recited Song Jinze’s name in her mind.

Sure enough, her vision flickered—

They switched back.

Xu Lian felt her sight blur instantly. Then came a splitting headache and a burning pain throughout her body.

Her throat was so dry she couldn’t speak. Half-propped up on the bed, she turned to look at Song Jinze.

In that moment, Song Jinze perfectly demonstrated what it meant to turn on someone in an instant.

The moment his soul returned, he fully regained his home ground.

Xu Lian leisurely admired his commanding presence.

She had to admit—this young and accomplished commander did have striking looks. She had never seen someone with such overwhelming aura in her life.

Even when she had been in his body before, she couldn’t replicate that natural sense of superiority in his gaze.

Boldly, she looked him up and down, then recklessly let out a teasing whistle.

Song Jinze’s expression darkened completely.

Without hesitation, he stepped forward, grabbed her, and yanked her up, forcing her chin upward so she had to meet his gaze. “Trying to die?”

Xu Lian scoffed. “Then kill me.”

“You think I wouldn’t dare?” He didn’t care that she was being held in an uncomfortable, half-suspended position. His gaze was direct and ruthless, locking into her eyes. The surrounding air trembled slightly from his out-of-control mental power.

Xu Lian felt the intense killing intent.

As expected of an S-class… her legs felt a little weak—but…

She still had leverage.

Suppressing the urge to look away, she met his gaze head-on and called his name directly: “Song Jinze, you wouldn’t break your promise, would you?”

He sneered. “What do you think?”

Xu Lian played dead and said nothing, but she had already made up her mind: Song Jinze couldn’t be trusted. His character was trash.

He had just gotten his body back and already wanted to make a move on her—taking advantage of the situation, crossing the river and tearing down the bridge.

What an infuriating bastard.

Song Jinze remained expressionless, completely unsurprised by her fearless attitude. “Tell me—did you steal my data?”

Xu Lian froze for a moment.

Oh? Sharp, this one.

Enduring the pain, she narrowed her eyes and smiled. It looked terrible, but she refused to lose momentum. “Yeah. And not just that.”

He frowned. “What else?”

Xu Lian cleared her throat. “Also your private photos. From all angles, all poses. Right now, they’re with my friend. If you dare touch me, haha… you know what’ll happen.”

Song Jinze’s face turned dark instantly. “You dare threaten me?”

Xu Lian shrugged. “So what? You’re not in a position to negotiate.”

She was already a dying person. There was nothing left to fear. Everything she had once been too afraid to do, she now dared to do—and would do boldly.

Barefoot people weren’t afraid of those wearing shoes. Even if things fell apart, she’d just die a few hundred days earlier. No big deal.

But she could make Song Jinze live the rest of his life in pain and regret.

An F-class bottom-tier nobody, confronting a top-tier S-class Supreme Commander—she was practically thrilled.

So she made her demand. “Commander Song, let me into your cockpit to take a look.”

It was an unreasonable request—and one that absolutely shouldn’t be granted.

Song Jinze rejected it immediately. “Unauthorized personnel are not allowed in the cockpit. Not even for a visit.”

Xu Lian pouted, looking troubled. “Ah, fine. If I can’t find anything fun to do, then I’ll have my friend pick one of your photos and post it… maybe start with the upper body. What do you think?”

Watching his expression grow darker and darker, she added, “Oh, and don’t even think about hacking my wristband. If you enter the wrong password, all the files will unlock and be uploaded online immediately.”

She blinked innocently at him. “Well? Commander Song?”

He stared at her in silence.

Xu Lian kept pushing. “Also, every 12 hours, I have to send my friend a specific message. If he doesn’t receive it, he’ll release the files immediately.”

With effort, she raised her arm and glanced at the countdown on her wristband. “Oh dear, only 3 minutes and 23 seconds left until the next 12-hour mark. So urgent~”

Finally, Song Jinze spoke, his words quick and clipped. “Which cockpit do you want?”

Xu Lian answered slowly, “The highest clearance one. The Supreme Commander’s cockpit.”

He didn’t waste time arguing. Suppressing his anger, he pulled her off the bed. “I’ll take you.”

Xu Lian didn’t move. She deliberately looked at him pitifully. “Carry me there, Commander Song. I really can’t walk. The countdown’s almost up—I don’t want to delay your time.”

She could barely stand, yet she was still provoking him.

Song Jinze was extremely unwilling—but he had no choice, and no time to hesitate.

He bent down immediately, scooped her up, one arm under her shoulders, the other under her knees, holding her tightly against his chest, and strode out the door.

Bang—!!

The door slammed loudly.

Curled in his arms, Xu Lian listened to his strong, powerful heartbeat.

She felt a pang of jealousy. She had never experienced such vigorous, boiling blood flow. Even his chest rose and fell with it.

His unsteady breathing brushed against her hair—rapid, tense, anxious.

But she remained calm. Even a little excited.

However… this was far from enough.

Entering the cockpit was only her first demand.

She tilted her head up, watching the sweat forming at his temples, trickling down along his sharp features, passing his Adam’s apple, and disappearing into his uniform.

Thanks to the fact that she had bathed earlier, the heat radiating from him still carried a faint fragrance.

Xu Lian felt quite comfortable being carried like this. She had never been held like this in her life.

So she was satisfied.

“Open the cockpit immediately.” His urgent, forceful command rang out above her.

The guards nearby were startled. Seeing the person in their Supreme Commander’s arms, each of them froze for a moment.

Song Jinze snapped, “What are you looking at? Move!”

“Y-Yes!”

As he carried her forward, every pair of eyes they passed showed shock.

First—speculation about Xu Lian’s identity.

Second—their Supreme Commander was terrifying when angry.

Third—and most shocking of all…

Their Supreme Commander was bringing an outsider into the cockpit?!

It had to be known—Song Jinze was one of the rare single-pilot commanders in the Federation.

Almost 99.99% of starships required two pilots.

One served as the energy supplier, while the other controlled and directed that energy to operate the ship.

A supply seat and a control seat—two pilots linked mentally through equipment to operate the ship together.

This required an extremely high level of mental compatibility.

But Song Jinze was an S-class pilot who couldn’t establish compatibility with anyone.

His mental compatibility rate with everyone—

Without exception—

Was 0%.
