At that moment, Yi Fengchu had already switched his phone screen back to Luo Shengle’s perspective.
On the small, cramped display, Luo Shengle was relentlessly climbing the clock tower. The long, spiraling staircase stretched upward as if it were infinite, twisting into darkness without end.
It pulled at her like a hand from the abyss, dragging her step by step toward despair. The steps felt endless, just like being trapped in a ghostly looping maze.
Luo Shengle wiped the thin sheen of sweat from her forehead, her legs repeating the same mechanical motion over and over. Her muscles burned and trembled, the soreness so intense it made her question her life choices.
Tap… tap…
Suddenly, something seemed to stir behind her. The faint, drifting sound echoed lightly through the spiral stairwell.
Her heart leaped violently. Luo Shengle turned around in alarm but all she saw was the cold stone staircase stretching downward into pitch black nothingness, like the gaping throat of a giant beast waiting to swallow her whole.
Steeling herself, she flicked her fingers slightly. At once, the wind gathered around her like a thin, invisible veil, surrounding her in a protective embrace.
Tap…
Another sound, soft yet crisp, like a glass marble bouncing down step after step.
The noises continued, drifting in and out, sometimes distant, sometimes so close they seemed to whisper right beside her ear.
A heavy, icy dread struck her mind again and again, like a blunt iron weight with nails hammered into her thoughts. It pressed down until she nearly felt suffocated, like drowning on dry land. Fear stabbed her spine and she unconsciously quickened her pace.
What exactly was following her?
Luo Shengle’s neck felt stiff as stone. She did not dare to look back, forcing herself to focus only on the path ahead.
Yi Fengchu frowned. His view swept up and down the tower interior yet he didn’t see a single trace of another person.
After a moment of thought, he abruptly realized something and tilted the camera toward the steps below.
Then he saw it clearly: a cracked, dark gray glass marble was resting still on the tenth step ahead of Luo Shengle. It wobbled slightly, as if ready to roll toward her feet.
Something hazy seemed to float within its fractured surface, stirring faintly.
It looked like… Like an eyeball sealed inside the marble.
Yi Fengchu immediately fixed his gaze on the glass encased eye, only to watch the thing rotate in place a few times, as if sensing him, before it abruptly stopped. With a soft tap, it dropped and lay completely still, pretending to be nothing more than an ordinary child’s marble.
“…Hm?” Yi Fengchu murmured under his breath, puzzled.
Why did he get the feeling that this thing could sense his gaze… and was actually afraid of him?
Yi Fengchu returned his attention to Luo Shengle. She was still frozen in place, tense as a drawn bowstring, keenly observing the shifting currents of air around her.
Not knowing what it was, he slid a finger across his phone screen and asked, “What is that?”
【S rank item: Fragment of the ‘Pandora’s Box’】
【Description: Once the contact requirement is met, it will pull the target into an endless illusion, striking at the prey’s fragile nerves with terror.】
An S rank item?
Even for Yi Fengchu, who had encountered countless anomalies over the years, the number of S rank and higher items he’d seen could be counted on one hand. These items could not be artificially made, mass produced or reproduced; most carried divine contamination and possessed unique, irreplaceable attributes.
To think even a legendary tier item like this would be afraid of his phone or perhaps of his gaze…
Yi Fengchu’s curiosity toward the phone’s origins and the reason it chose him, only grew stronger.
Meanwhile, Luo Shengle held her breath, listening. When no more strange tapping echoed behind her, she mustered her courage and continued climbing.
Under Yi Fengchu’s watchful stare, the eyeball in the marble did not dare move. Even when Luo Shengle’s shoe nearly grazed its surface, it didn’t react at all.
So it wasn’t his imagination, the eye really was terrified of his gaze…
Should he… collect it for research? Yi Fengchu considered it seriously.
Then he instructed Luo Shengle through the phone:
【Pick up the glass marble on the ground.】
Marble? Where?
Luo Shengle glanced around, finally noticing the object sitting right beside her foot.
Only then did she realize something was very wrong. The marble was lying plainly in the center of the step, impossible to miss yet she had somehow ignored it over and over as if her brain had been tricked into blindness.
After a moment of hesitation, she studied it carefully. When the marble remained motionless, she cautiously picked it up.
The instant her fingers brushed its surface, it vanished into her system’s built in storage.
At the same time, the amusement park system displayed an item description:
“Item: Pandora’s Heart (B)
Status: Bound
Usage requirement: Maintain contact with the target for 5 seconds. Limited to 3 uses.
Description: ‘Little lamb within the box, may you slumber peacefully, forever lost in dreams.’”
Reading the description, Luo Shengle immediately connected it to the strange sounds earlier, it wasn’t hard to guess that she must have been… trapped by that marble before…
The glass bead had muddled her senses and for a moment she nearly became the “lamb in a box” mentioned in the item description.
Yi Fengchu, however, only frowned in puzzlement. He couldn’t understand why an item that the phone had clearly assessed as S rank would suddenly be displayed as “B ” the moment Luo Shengle slipped it into her backpack. It was as if, at the very instant she touched it, this extraordinary, mysterious object had been quietly swapped out by the amusement park system…
That strange inconsistency flashed through Yi Fengchu’s mind but he temporarily pushed the suspicion aside.
The moment Pandora’s Heart was reclaimed, the endless staircase before Luo Shengle spider webbed with cracks. In the blink of an eye, it shattered like a mirror struck by a hammer, revealing the true scene hidden beneath the illusion.
Only then did Luo Shengle realize in stunned disbelief, she had already reached the very top of the clock tower!
On the stone floor, thick with dust, countless overlapping footprints formed a perfect circle. She had been unknowingly walking in loops all this time. It was terrifying to imagine how long she would have remained trapped if not for the “Narrator’s” intervention.
Perhaps she would have continued walking, endlessly tracing the same repetitive path, doomed forever within that small, dust marked ring of footprints.
Still shaken, Luo Shengle clutched her phone with trembling hands and typed her response with great gratitude:
[Praise be to you, Mr. Narrator! Thank you for your generous rescue.]
Yi Fengchu replied with honest indifference: [There’s no need to thank me.]
After all, he had merely glanced at the little glass bead, who would’ve thought the item was such a coward…
[Your life and your death are in your own hands, not granted by my benevolence.. ] Yi Fengchu added calmly.
Receiving the message, Luo Shengle froze for a moment in surprise.
To be truthful, it was the first time she had seen a higher level existence reject praise and instead acknowledge the efforts and worth of ordinary people.
Most powerful figures in the amusement park walked over piles of corpses without a second thought and not once had they cared about the struggles of the so called “dust” beneath their feet.
The balance between caution and gratitude in her heart slowly tilted. Moved, Luo Shengle wondered: since this “Narrator” had helped her so many times along the way, perhaps… Perhaps she really could try placing a shred of trust in the kindness of an unseen superior being.
[Ring the bell.]
Just then, she received another instruction from the Narrator.
Snapping back to attention, she didn’t hesitate. She summoned a burst of clear wind, letting the airflow collide and whirl beneath the massive bell. The ancient, resonant toll reverberated outward, pushed farther and farther by the invisible gust.
Dong… Dong…
Across the instance, the surviving players, exhausted, frightened, barely clinging to life, instinctively raised their heads. Their gazes, filled with either dread or fragile hope, turned toward the towering black clock tower in the distance.
Everyone understood what that sound meant: This dungeon had finally reached its end.
“Hahahaha…”
From the shadow of a wall, a player whose head was only inches away from the hunter’s cane suddenly burst into uncontrollable laughter. “I survived! I’m alive, I actually survived!”
The words had barely left his mouth when his figure grew faint, then vanished entirely from the hunter’s sight.
The elderly hunter calmly withdrew the cane that had been a heartbeat away from piercing the man’s skull. He removed his top hat and tilted it politely toward the clock tower, like an elegant gentleman paying respect.
“My salute, to the one who governs fate.”
In an apartment near University City, a door that seemed to open into endless darkness suddenly burst open and Luo Shengle was violently flung out of it.
It was unbelievable, absolutely unbelievable, what kind of existence she had just come into contact with. After saving her life several times over, that “Narrator” had taken only an old, clichef campus ghost story as the price.
And she had actually told a story to some mysterious, unfathomable higher being. If this story spread through the amusement park, it would surely become a legendary anecdote…
Lying flat on her back, Luo Shengle stared dazedly at the ceiling for a long moment.
Then suddenly, something occurred to her. She jolted upright, sprang to her feet and rushed straight to the apartment next door, pounding urgently on the neighbor’s door.
“…Who is it?”
Through the door, she heard the youth’s lazily drawn out question, followed by the sound of approaching footsteps. The door cracked open slightly, revealing a pair of black and white eyes, his pupils dark as ink, like staring into a deep, lightless abyss.
When she had first met him, looking directly into Yi Fengchu’s eyes always sent a chill down her spine, like a bucket of icy water poured straight from head to toe but as time passed, she had grown used to it. She could now ignore that coldness with ease and interact with him naturally.
“Senior Luo?”
Yi Fengchu stepped aside politely to let her in and poured her a glass of water, though his mind was full of confusion.
He had seen plenty of people who’d returned from the brink of death in the amusement park but none of them had ever looked like this.
Instead of fear or exhaustion… this senior seemed oddly excited, almost as if she were savoring the experience.
Luo Shengle moistened her dry lips, took a careful sip of water and then cautiously asked, “Xiao Yi… have you, recently, encountered anything… out of the ordinary?”
“…“
The moment Yi Fengchu heard that all too familiar opening line, understanding dawned instantly.
She was trying to test whether he had entered the amusement park.
“No, not at all. What unusual thing could possibly happen on campus?”
Yi Fengchu looked genuinely puzzled as he replied, his tone carrying a light joking edge. He even casually brought up the story Luo Shengle had just shared with him. “I did hear someone say our school is haunted, does that count?”
Hearing his denial, Luo Shengle let out a subtle breath of relief but almost immediately, she stiffened again, her expression turning serious. “Haunted, is it? You should be careful then. Things like supernatural tales and strange rumors… It’s best to keep your distance. Who knows which ones are real?”
In her mind, since even the “Narrator” had acknowledged that campus ghost story, perhaps their school really did have something going on…
Yi Fengchu paused for a moment, caught off guard. A strange, indescribable feeling rose quietly within him. Never had he imagined that someone who had only just clawed her way back from the brink of death would still have the presence of mind to worry about others.
So this was what they called a model young citizen?
With a curious, almost intrigued glint in his eyes, Yi Fengchu studied Luo Shengle for a few seconds. He even considered making note of this behavior so he could imitate it in the future.
Outwardly, however, he simply let out a small laugh. “Senior, since when do you believe in this stuff? Every university has a handful of ghost stories. Has even one of them ever turned out to be real?”
The question hit Luo Shengle square in the heart, leaving her speechless.
…No, because their school does have a ghost! Even the Narrator acknowledged the rumor, there was no way a higher being would just accept a random made up story, right?
But what she could never imagine was the one possibility that explained everything: the so called “Narrator” actually knew her in real life and had intentionally allowed her to pass off that story.
Yi Fengchu understood all of this perfectly. He only smiled, saying nothing.
Seeing that he was verbally agreeing with her yet clearly not taking her warnings to heart, Luo Shengle could only sigh helplessly.
Perhaps, she thought, events like supernatural encounters were simply too distant and unreal for an ordinary person like Yi Fengchu.
Ah… she truly missed the past, back when she, just like her junior, had been blissfully ignorant, ordinary and uncomplicatedly happy…
With that lingering emotion in her heart, she said her goodbyes to Yi Fengchu.
The moment the door clicked shut behind her, Yi Fengchu pulled out his phone and logged into the Player Forum.
Technically, the “Amusement Park” system also had an official forum but under the ever present gaze of the gods, almost no one dared to post anything that wasn’t exaggerated flattery. In reality, all meaningful intel circulated only in the player run underground forum.
To people unaware of the truth, this place looked like a gathering spot for eccentric role players. Occasionally, a clueless outsider would stumble in, browse for a few minutes and then leave with a laugh, saying something along the lines of, “Wow, they’re really committed to the bit.”
Little would they ever know that they had brushed shoulders with a realm of mystery far beyond ordinary human understanding.
And for Yi Fengchu, this forum was essentially a source of great joy.
No one’s humanity could withstand perpetual tests and inside the life and death battleground of the “Amusement Park,” the stories were often outrageous and dramatic, on par with the wildest long running soap operas.
As usual, Yi Fengchu leisurely scrolled through gossip threads and petty arguments. Just as he was about to call it a night, a particular post caught his attention.
“‘Digging Into the Big Shots Who Were Once Saved by Future Diary’… Are they talking about me? Looks like this generation has guts. The old veterans never dared discuss this in broad daylight.”
With interest piqued, Yi Fengchu tapped into the post.
Everyone knew that most gods possessed the ability to lock onto targets without being restricted by time or space. Although many suspected the “Future Diary” hadn’t actually reached the rank of a full deity, without irrefutable evidence, no one dared act recklessly.
The nickname “Future Diary,” while sounding like a playful meme, was actually a deliberate avoidance tactic, to prevent anyone from mentioning a higher existence too directly.
But even with euphemisms, openly discussing such a being carried the risk of drawing their attention. That alone demonstrated how bold the thread’s creator was.

[Digging] The Powerful Figures Who Once Got Saved By the Future Diary
№0 (OP):
Has anyone here ever encountered the “Future Diary” in the amusement park?
№1:
You’re actually discussing that one here? OP, aren’t you afraid you’ll get visited in your dreams?
№2:
Friendly reminder: the last person who slandered a god level entity had their entire family cursed into a mental institution.
№3:
It’s not that serious. This isn’t the first time someone’s discussed the Future Diary… but it is the first time I’ve seen someone talk about the big shots who were saved by it.
№4:
Those big shots are probably at least “Adjudicators” and maybe up to “Judges,” right?
Before digging into their stories, OP should change their ID and hide their identity.
№5:
Newbie question: what’s an Adjudicator?
№6:
Wow, you don’t even know that? You must be super new. @OfficialMiniWiki
№7 Official Mini Encyclopedia:
In the Divine Amusement Park, no matter how powerful a player seems, they’re still at the very bottom of the food chain. The truly formidable beings have already shed the identity of “players” and become “Recorders,” the ones who observe the state of every dungeon.
Those with deep experience and overwhelming strength may be selected to carry out the will of the gods and maintain the rules of the game as “Adjudicators.” For ordinary players, this is usually the highest end they can ever reach.
№8 Official Mini Encyclopedia:
Only a very small number of lucky ones, those who have a god backing them, can advance even further to become “Judges.” Most people who hold this position are god favored individuals, divine followers or high priests.
According to reliable sources, above the “Judges” there exists an even more mysterious group known as “Constructors,” beings from the domain of Reconstruction, responsible for designing and building the majority of normal dungeons.
Otherwise, did you really think every dungeon was a fully complete, authentic world on its own?
№9:
Thanks for the explanation. Sounds really impressive… but it also feels way too far away for a small fry like me QAQ

№104 I’m Not a Big Shot (Original Poster):
Ahem, we’re getting off topic. Let’s return to the main subject. I’ve finished changing my ID, so I’ll start by telling my own experience. I need to make it clear that I’m not a big shot at all, the fact that I ran into that Future Diary was pure coincidence.
The strongest impression They left on me was, spoilers. Endless spoilers. Unlike normal ability users from the Fate Domain, who can only vaguely sense the trajectory of destiny, that being could predict something as detailed as how many times you would blink in the next minute.
And what I felt was… pure bliss. Absolute bliss. It was like playing a game after reading a complete walkthrough, every trap, every plot point laid out clearly. As long as you didn’t act stupid, there was absolutely no way to die.
To avoid exposing my identity, I’m not mentioning which dungeon it was. If you ask, I’ll just say I’ve been scared by those ability users from the Secret Peering Domain 🙂
№105:
Understandable. Those ability users from the Secret Peering Domain are terrifying. Give them a single clue and they can trace your entire trail all the way back to how many times you wet the bed as a child.
Is that even something a human should be capable of??
№106:
…My condolences to the commenter above. Anyway, OP, what exactly did you go through?
№107 I’m Not a Big Shot (Original Poster):
After I cleared the dungeon, time froze in that instant. There’s no real way to describe the feeling… it was like the entire world had emptied, leaving only me. They asked me to offer a real, personally experienced urban legend as payment.
But back then I was a total novice, how could I have experienced any real supernatural event? I could only cautiously retell a common urban myth, already calculating my chances of being silenced for trying to fool Them.
Unexpectedly, They seemed to enjoy it. I was allowed to return, dazed and untouched.
Thinking back now… I really have to thank Them for Their mercy.
№108 I’m Not a Big Shot (Original Poster):
Since I said I’d reveal some big shots, I won’t bait you with false promises. Though honestly, I’m not really qualified to call myself one… just as the mini encyclopedia said, there are no true big shots among players, those truly powerful ones would never still be players.
But for my own safety, let me censor some information.
The first one is someone who has already ascended to become an Adjudicator, Ro**. A believer of the “Dusk Origin.” Those of you who frequent B tier dungeons and above should know her well, right?
Once she appears, there will always be a violator punished.
№109:
No way, OP, are you serious? Aren’t you afraid of dying?
№110:
OP, think twice! We were drawn in by the title, sure but none of us came expecting real classified intel. It’s not worth risking your life for the sake of gossip…
№111 I’m Not a Big Shot (Original Poster):
The second person: the leader of the Bardic Cult, Edd*** Voll, one of the Recorders and someone who claims to worship the god who “Commands the Winds.”
№112:
Confirmed, OP is a genuine warrior, someone willing to stare directly into the bloodied abyss.
……
№233:
…But how come They save so many people who believe in other gods? Don’t They feel like They’re suffering a loss?
№234:
Is that really the point here? But yeah, it is strange. They’re practically a divine version of a Good Samaritan.
№235 I’m Not a Big Shot (Original Poster):
Actually, this thread isn’t just for exposing big shots. I also wanted to discuss that being’s identity and… Their ultimate goal.
Most of the people They saved eventually became legendary figures. With a collection of big shots like that, it’s hard to believe it’s all just coincidence.
№236:
…The atmosphere is getting more and more conspiracy themed.
№237:
But seriously, it is suspicious.
Is it that They rescued them by chance, allowing them to grow into legends…
Or did They foresee their extraordinary futures early on and deliberately seek them out?
№238:
Let me say something quietly. When I first entered the amusement park and heard rumors about Them, I already thought something was strange. Sure, novels love tropes like “the big shot is right next to me” or “mysterious deity falls in love with me,” but in reality…
As much as we don’t want to admit it, those beings truly don’t see us as important at all.
Who would constantly pay attention to the tiny creatures wriggling in the soil beneath their feet?
№239:
How can you say that, bro (dog head emoji)? Humans and microorganisms at least exist on the same dimensional level, we coexist, right? But us and gods? We’re not even lifeforms on the same plane (funny face emoji).
№240:
When you put it like that, this being really does seem suspicious… almost like a bored child poking at the dirt with a stick just because they’ve got nothing better to do.
№241:
Honestly, I’ve always felt there’s a paradox here: if that being can distinguish which urban legends are real, doesn’t that mean They already know them?
So why would They need to collect them from players?
№242:
Maybe the whole “urban legend payment” is just a convenient excuse? The real purpose might be infiltrating the Divine Amusement Park…
№243:
If that’s the case, then They’ve clearly succeeded. Most of the big shots have received Their help. With all those connections woven together into one enormous net… just the thought of it gives me chills.
№244:
The more we talk, the more terrifying this becomes. What is that being actually trying to do?
№245 Fate’s Musician:
Praise my Lord!
№246:
Wait. Did something weird just slip into the thread above? Are we… allowed to preach here??
№247:
Crazy zealots, get back to your system’s native forum.
№248:
+1
№249:
Help me.
№250:
Help me.
№251:
Entrance… Shadow Realm Station… one way ticket…
№252:
Please, someone save me!!!
№253:
What the heck? That gave me a jump. What just happened?
№254:
Checked their profile, and it turns out it’s a foreign user. Why would they be asking for help in the China region board? And in Chinese??
№255:
…Ah. If the comment above hadn’t reminded me, I’d forgotten this is actually an international forum.
To be honest, international board threads are really few and far between.
№256:
Something’s off here… I looked at a few other threads just now and suddenly I’ve got chills running down my spine…
№257:
+1. At the exact same moment (underline this), all threads on the front page received the same four “help me” messages. Other boards too and in different languages.
№258:
Speaking from my many years of getting haunted in dungeons, whatever sent those messages definitely wasn’t human. The owner of that account is either already dead… or about to be.
№259:
This thread is… quite the spectacle. The random fanatic barging in and those SOS messages really add a sort of absurd, eerie humor.
№260:
Everyone should probably clear out. At this rate, the mods will shut this thread down soon.
“What’s going on?” Yi Fengchu’s curiosity was immediately piqued as he asked his phone.
【Reality Dungeon: “The War of Nobles”, Difficulty: C+】
【Trigger Condition: Before dawn, go to a fog covered train station holding an expired one way ticket and board an old style train that does not exist on any timetable. Ticket type and price don’t matter. Station type doesn’t matter either.】
The phone paused for a moment before explaining:
【Those cries for help earlier were probably something inside the dungeon trying to lure players in. Do you want to go?】
Yi Fengchu didn’t respond. Instead, he slowly revealed a smile toward the phone.
Without saying a single word, the answer was already clear.
